Red Robin in Bel Air, MD is open and prospering. I have Celiacs (allergic to gluten) and am dairy free. I, and my family and friends go there once a week, usually on Tuesdays when we eat their $10 burgers with bottomless sides. The cooks, wait staff, and managers are excellent. They do their best every time we go. Best burgers ever!!!
It's a bit tight in there but I love what they did with the place. They've given it character and have superb customer service. The gluten free upcharge was incredibly affordable. My partner had his own high tea tower! Usually, gluten free people like him or those with special allergies get the crumbs and are a second thought. Not this place. Unlimited tea as well?! We'll be coming back for sure.
Wonderful little cafe. My sisters and I love going here for breakfast or brunch. The service is great and the food is delicious. I recommend trying the crepes they have tons of different flavors. My sister is gluten free and they are always super accommodating for her.
This is an update to an earlier review focusing on food allergy safety. If you don't have food allergies, I recommend you read the other reviews.
In case you can't be bothered to read the full review, the long and short is that I had a food allergy issue during my visit, but after discussions with management, the restaurant has implemented new procedures in hopes of prevent any future issues. Given what I have been told, even given my experience, I would feel comfortable dining here again.
I have Celiac (can't eat gluten due to an autoimmune response - not exactly an allergy, but treated as such for the purpose of a restaurant / food prep). During my visit, due to an unfortunate set of events, I ate an item which I was told was gluten free, but discovered later that it was not. This was very upsetting at the time, and I'm still suffering the consequences of that today, and will be for some time. My original review spelled out the events of that day, what I felt were the causes that lead to this mistake, and some recommendations to fix it.
After leaving my review, I was contacted by the manager offering an apology and a promise to do better. While I appreciated the apology, I expressed concern that committing to do better was insufficient, and that there needed to be fundamental changes to policy and/or procedure to ensure prevention of future issues. To my surprise, I received a response the following morning which outlined various policy and procedure changes which were being implemented immediately to include things like wider availability of allergen charts, and mandatory management consultation upon mention of an allergy, amongst other steps. These were the types of changes I was recommending, and I'm thrilled to see them implemented so quickly and that there was such willingness from the store management to do so.
Well done Latitude for making your restaurant a safer place for any of your customers to dine.
The staff is absolutely great. The Manager (Jackie) is fantastic š.
This is the ONLY Five Guys I have never has a problem with due to Celiacs.
I let the cooks know I have a flour allergy and I never have an issue as I have had with a couple of other Five Guys restaurants.
Emma was such a great host for us! I had lunch with a friend I have not seen in a long while, so we needed the time to catch up. Emma was so graceful in her checking in with us. And when we were ready to order she gave amazing recommendations for my gluten allergy. Definitely made a new friend here !!! Thank you Emma xxxx
Visited for the first time today. Very impressed with gluten and dairy free options, and the food and smoothies we got were good, but pricey. Unfortunately the prices are not listed on the menu which is kind of sneaky and I am not a fan of that as a customer. I subtracted a star because my husband got a grilled cheese and it was more like a cheese sandwich because the cheese was barely melted at all and even slightly cool to the touch in the middle of the sandwich.
I have a Gluten allergy and this is one of very few places in the area that caters to GF and I have not gotten sick the three times I've been there. Absolutely would recommend.
Good selection of gluten free. Lighting was so low it was difficult to see menus Greeter suggested high tables for our party with two over 80 seniors who could never do that. But we enjoyed our meal and will be back We had requested well done beans they were ok but could have been softer.
Love this place. Service is excellent, Amaretto Sours are perfect. We come here twice a year for company events. Never any complaints about food. I am gluten free and there aren't a ton of options (fries have gluten), but they always let me frankenstein a meal together easy peasy.
Food was very good and my party of 4 enjoyed everything they had. My biggest issue is that they are not well informed about gluten intolerance. I asked if their chips were gf and I was told yes because itās corn tortillas. I then said well are they fried in-house with gluten containing items such as anything containing flour. The server said yes. I said then the chips canāt be considered gf due to cross contamination.
Love, love, love our Mickey themed party board for my sons 2nd birthday party. All the guests were super impressed with how beautiful it looked and the assortments especially it being gluten free. The honey comb on the Brie was delicious 𤤠Definitely will be using again in the future
Every year to remember a loved one we miss, we have dinner at a restaurant that she loved on her birthday. Yesterday, I called and explained that I have Celiac disease and cannot have gluten and wanted to know if they had gluten free options. They assured me that they can prepare everything with gluten free soy sauce and listed the two things I cannot have.
We are a party of six. I asked if it would be possible for our party to sit at a hibachi table alone to have all the food prepared with gluten free soy sauce, to avoid cross contamination. She said they typically don't reserve tables. I said, even if it's not busy? She said if it's not busy it's possible that we can.
When we walked in today, all but two hibachi tables were completely empty. The person I spoke to on the phone was there.
She said they do not reserve tables and would have us sit with four others, but that it was ok because my food would be prepared first. I said "so everyone at the table would have to wait for mine to be finished before theirs is started?" (I didn't like that idea, I didn't want people waiting longer because of me.) She said no, that my food would be moved to the side and prepared separately before regular soy sauce was added to the rest of the hibachi.
We were sat and I expressed my hesitance and concern to the server. She assured me that her mother has Celiac disease and she understands.
I became ill within 30 minutes.
The reason I post this review is because shortly after we were sat, a couple came in and ended up having an entire hibachi table to themselves. At least four hibachi tables remained completely empty the entire time we were there. The place was not busy and my food being cross contaminated was needless and completely avoidable. (I have been to hibachi before, perfectly fine, because the entire hibachi table was using gluten free soy sauce.) They refused that for us even though the restaurant had more than enough tables, all while assuring me they were taking the precautions necessary.
I will never be back and encourage anyone, especially those with dietary restrictions, to choose anywhere else than here-- it's too expensive for them to care this little about ensuring the safety and experience of their patrons.
