Extremely knowledgeable servers and chefs! Delicious food and extensive wine list. Door (not sure how this should be spelled) and Miss Jackie made sure my meal was Celiac-safe. Such a pleasure eating somewhere they honestly care about serving a Celiac patron safely. Highly recommend.
I really enjoyed the food here and was so grateful to find a place that had a lot of gluten free options. I was able to try gumbo and gf beignets (calas) and they were very delicious 😊 the service was also pretty quick and friendly.
This was my first time visiting this establishment, and I have to say my experience was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The service was warm and attentive, and the food? Simply amazing. Every dish had such bold, unique flavors, and I really appreciated the wide variety of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options on the menu.
I ordered the Crab Scramble with vegan eggs, which was packed with flavor. I also got a side of the bison sausage it was my first time trying bison. While I personally prefer chicken or seafood over red meat, the sausage was still well-seasoned and tasty, with subtle notes of onion and bell pepper (not sure if that was intentional, but it worked!).
My mom ordered the Shrimp and Grits, and I got to try a bite and wow. It was a flavor explosion. I've never tasted anything quite like it before rich, savory, and perfectly balanced.
We all shared the Bananas Foster Pancakes, which were sweet but not overpowering, with a unique flavor that really stood out. I also tried their Iced Matcha Latte delicious and classic in taste. If you're looking for a traditional, less-sweet matcha, this is the one for you.
My cousin ordered the Cat Daddy Biscuit, and once again great flavors, perfectly cooked, and the sauce was on point. My aunt went with the Bearcat Breakfast, a more traditional option, but she swapped in the bison sausage, and it paired beautifully with the eggs and potatoes.
The only downside? Parking can be a bit tricky, and there might be a wait ours was about an hour. But trust me, it’s absolutely worth it.
Next time I'm in New Orleans, I’ll be back without a doubt!
I was hoping for a good meal away from the French Quarter, but we got so much more. The entrees were SOOO good, they truly took us by surprise. I’ll remember the chicken and the shrimp dishes for a while.
I rarely order dessert, but after an entree that good, I needed to see what dessert offered. The Salted Peanut Pie was delicious. Only thing of mention was about the lack of gluten free dessert options - typical ice cream and sorbet offering.
I ordered the Vegan Lover Pizza, which I’ve gotten several times before, only to have a different employee tell me that it’s not actually vegan unless you order it with the gluten-free crust??? Wildly misleading! Apparently, the regular crust has butter in it. I am so thankful that other employee let me know.
Sad and deceived.
One of the distinguishing features of this - of all French Quarter New Orleans restaurants is that the menu is designed to have dedicated gluten free options for classics like fried seafood. It also happens to have an excellent gf/df spin on a traditional Shrimp Creole, with an addicting bed of vegetables, including some bright and punchy pickled peppers that just make the entire dish pop. As someone with food allergies, this being my first food stop in NO has set the bar super high for me. (Sorry, no photo - ate it all too fast!)
I am gluten free but the others with me were not. The charbroiled and raw oysters are amazing! And they're gluten-free except you have to ask for bread on the side. I probably did not order the right thing, but I had the grillled shrimp which were meh and the fries that were nice. for gluten full people, the beignets were a hit and also the gumbo and bisque
We wanted Fabulous local food and Sylvain’s did not disappoint! We had the Pappardelle Bolognese and Striped Bass which were both delicious, we also had the Fried Cauliflower which was a wonderful surprise!! Our server Chris was knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. They were able to accommodate my gluten free restrictions, including dessert…a coconut crème brûlée! The ambiance was intimate and beautiful, we loved everything about this restaurant and highly recommend it!
Outstanding GLUTEN-FREE fried chicken and salt and vinegar string fries. We sat ourselves in the semi-enclosed private room on the second floor, which was comfortable, allowed us to hear the live music and talk comfortably with one another. The cocktails were delightful and interesting!

My husband ordered a cup of gumbo and the combination platter. He bit into shell fragments twice. The bread was not very flavorful. To top it off he ended up with severe food poisoning.
I’m celiac and ordered jambalaya from the gluten free menu and also ended up with diarrhea.
Didn’t make a great impression seeing that it was our first time in Louisiana.
This place was amazing! The drinks were really well made (I hade the caipirinha and would highly recommend)! For all the celiacs out there, this place is more than accommodating for a gluten free diet.
What a beautiful, delicious, cozy experience. The shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and they have gluten free options noted on the menu! The staff was kind and welcoming and gave us space but served us well. We we will definitely be back!
waiter was phenomenal with dietary restrictions and went above & beyond to make my partner and i feel welcome! (dairy free and gluten free). we had the jambalaya (GF, DF) (4/5) and the rice and beans (GF) (4/5) and the flight lemonade drinks (2.5/5). the potato salad and the appetizer sausage was SOOO delicious. overall awesome atmosphere, people & food. worth the long line outside ! (and super affordable)

We waited 40mn for a table for a late dinner. The person at the reception wasnt the friendliest but we were hungry. BIG SHOUT-OUT to Paul on the merch side to be kind enough to talk to us while we waited! We finally got a table and ended up waiting 15/20 mn to get a server. Wasnt too thrilled about that. Server was nice and informative on food allergies though. They have a gluten free menu available, but the seasoned fries weren't gluten free, needs updated. We got a burger and a pulled pork sandwich with green beans sub for fries. Overall wasnt impressed with the food specially for the price. Manager came to check on us and we ended up talking about music and tattoos! Memorabilia was interesting on the walls.
I was super excited to come as you hear and read so much history about this place. It was everything I was told and imagined. The first thing you see and feel when walking in is the history this place has. All the staff was exceptional and on point! And the food, the foor was fantastic. Our table had the fried chicken, which was finger lickin excellence. For one order they were able to make it gluten free for my mom!! The Stewed chicken was absolutely delicious! And the same for the Shrimp Clemenceau. This place is a must come and repeat!!
If you've recently lost a loved one (egg, milk, gluten) then this is the place you need to try. They work magic. I don't know how they make brioche or pastry cream without eggs or dairy but they did it excellently.
Amazingly delicious food. The dumpling soup was so flavorful. I loved the psssion fruit tea with bobba. Great serving sizes. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Staff were very kind.
The food was very tasty with good sized portions -- I had the cheese enchiladas and my partner had the street tacos in jerk chicken and adobo. The jerk chicken was incredible. The music was super loud, which I wasn't a fan of, and the servers were laid back, which I don't mind but some people don't like. There were a lot of drink specials and an abundance of vegetarian options on the menu, and eating gluten free was very easy. We'll definitely be back.
A cute little breakfast place with friendly staff with a very creative selection of donuts. Their breakfast sandwiches are, frankly, amazing. I got a turkey sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit. It may sound weird, but the eggs were the best part. They were succulent and creamy and honestly the best eggs I've ever had on a breakfast sammy. The raspberry cheesecake donut was decadent with chunks of crunchy graham cracker crust and a raspberry astride a raspberry iced donut with light, fluffy cheesecake filling. You can also see the entire cook process, with the baking station in the back, The grill station in the middle, and the coffee station up front next to the register by the door. I enjoyed watching them make kolaches while I chomped on my massive donut. They do have a gluten-free option or two, but I didn't ask about cross-contamination. Highly recommend.
Great service. Amazing food. Loved the atmosphere. Really enjoyable gluten-free options!
**Edit** Would love to come back but that's a long trip from Western Canada! Lol
This is one of my favorite restaurants as a celiac! The only thing I miss out on is the bread. Fries are safe and delicious. Everything else is amazing too
Sunday morning brunch. $15 bottomless mimosas, $15 omelettes, $22 shrimp and grits. Multiple GF gluten free items including the shrimp and grits. Truly excellent. Nice atmosphere and the jazz vocalist and guitarist tucked in the corner made it a truly special NOLA experience. Will be back!!!
Good Gluten Free options.
The house potatoes were stupidly good... I mean wow. I didn't know potatoes could be that good.
Also really liked the sticky beets dish, and the grilled carrots dish on the tofu-based ricotta alternative. That stuff was magic (and I'm not vegan). We used that as dip sauce for the potatoes and... it was incredible.
For the main course we ordered both the beef and chicken. Both were quite good, but honestly we enjoyed the small other dishes above better than the main course 😅.
Had creme brulee for desert, it was good too, but not particularly extraordinary.
Amazing restaurant all around. We sat at the bar for brunch. The waiter consulted with the chef to make sure my food was gluten- free. Everything was delicious.
This is our favorite place for special occasions with the family, or drinks and plate sharing with my friends after work. The food is always fresh, delicious, and interesting. Both beautiful to look at and eat. The staff is extremely accommodating of my family members who have celiac disease, making sure to take careful notes on their orders. Patron this spot. You will not be disappointed.
In New Orleans during an historic snow storm today and everywhere within walking distance of our Airbnb was closed, except this little gem of a diner serving delicious breakfasts and sandwiches, with vegetarian and gluten free options should one wish. Really good food and absolutely delightful staff. Definitely worth a visit anytime, but especially appreciated on this rare wild snowy day. Thank you for being open!
This is a great spot for some healthy options. We got the Mexicali salad and Orbit Bowl—both were delicious, fresh, and packed with nutritious ingredients. The golden smoothie was really good, with a perfectly balanced flavor. They had plenty of options if you are vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free, making it an excellent choice for those with dietary restrictions or anyone looking for a wholesome meal.
Amazing food, great service. My family do from hong kong, and I found the food to be more traditional than most typical Chinese restaurants. We sat at the bar and had excellent service, Charlie the bartender is awesome. Miss Shirley has always been on site, and seems to really take the time to talk to all her customers. Well worth the wait for a table and plenty of places nearby to grab a drink while you wait. My partner has Celiac disease and there are many GF options and the fryer is even safe. We will definitely be back.
This place is entirely underrated. It can be hard to get quick meals with my allergies and values regarding food. This Green Fork was perfect. The ingredients in the smoothies, juice, and prepped meals were obviously fresh and high quality. No unnecessary fillers, preservatives, or refined sugar. I got the butternut squash chili and ate it with some chips. It was very filling and comforting. I also tried the kindness smoothie, and I got a few other soups and juices. This is real, safe food that makes me feel good. I normally just have to eat at home. Try them if you're gluten or soy-free.
Bywater Bakery made an absolutely delicious cake for our wedding, lovely, soft and moist. The chantilly cream is to die for. The tasting was lots of fun, we got to mix and match cakes and icings. They also did a great job of accommodating our and our guests’ allergies and providing vegan and gluten free cupcakes so that none of our guests felt left out.
Delicious and unassuming with friendly folks taking your orders and making your food, this is the hidden gem we all look for. Excellent breakfast tacos, gluten free and vegan offerings and what looked like amazing sandwiches along with delicious coffee, juice and chai drinks. Great space to hangout and answer emails or gather with friends. All dining is outdoors, but looks onto a beautiful street.
We stopped here for breakfast. Then, we chose to try their Beigntes. They came 4 on the plate. And although there is a more famous place on New Orleans that makes them we tried both. Both my wife and I feel this place makes the best Beigntes so far. Properly made dough and cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend them. Now digging into my Boudin omelet and her bourbon street breakfast. The Boudin omelet is great. It is light and fluffy. The hashbrowns are freshly grated and not over processed. My wife's pancakes are crazy good. I try to stay away from gluten, but I would eat these cakes and deal with the side effects without complaining. Hell yes, I drank the Boubon at 9:15am. No, I do not have a drinking problem. Bourbon while having some spice was smooth. If you are on New Orleans, put Cafe Fleur De Lis on your list to have for breakfast. Love it and will be back next time we are in New Orleans. It's really good.
Decent food. Server allowed me to switch out corn grits for potato when she found out I can't have milk or cream. They have gluten free toast. Server also recommended the rta bus and streetcar for me to go to the art museum. Very convenient and saved a lot of money
I've actually been living in the same block as Coquette for a year now and because I have Celiac (gluten free required diet) I was apprehensive about trying this restaurant. I'm now kicking myself for waiting so long. I had a work dinner there the other night and was absolutely blown away by the service, the knowledge of our server about what was actually gluten free (without cross contamination), and the caliber of the incredible dishes that I had.
I could rant and rave about the food all day and night and while I do have limited options when I dine out, I don't have a pallet that's easy to blow my mind. Well, Coquette blew my mind. Every dish I had was incredible and what's more is that our server quickly, kindly, and assuredly pointed out everything on the menu that was safe.
I had the pan roasted cauliflower (best cauliflower dish I've ever had), little gem salad (made gf), and the duck. Each plate was better than the last and there was that extra amount of assurance from the server that everything was truly gluten free that made the meal that much more incredible.
Maybe this review is more impactful for folks that need a gluten free diet but I'll stand by the fact that regardless of the extra awesome gluten free experience that I had, anyone would be blown away by the depth of flavor and complexity of the dishes at Coquette. If you're a Celiac though, it's transformative.
Gluten-free labeled on the menu! Great cocktails made with their own spirits - we tried 6 different ones and liked all - and excellent food. We had the chicken sandwich and gulf shrimp over Creole slaw with a GF chocolate torte for dessert! A great way to spend a few hours, especially at happy hour prices - $5 for craft cocktails!
From the appetizer to the dessert, flavors were incredible and service was natural, jovial, and fun. Our server did not get a single thing wrong, even with my son’s gluten and dairy allergy.
We felt welcome the moment we walked through the door and we were even acknowledged as we left. This is hospitality at its finest and I recommend this establishment to any visitor to New Orleans.
It was my first, and unfortunately, last visit to this restaurant. I ordered gluten-free cauliflower with fries, an additional order of cauliflower, and one of their pasta dishes. The cauliflower and fries were for me. It was absolutely delicious. There were rave reviews for the Cajun pasta as well.
I gave a 3 star review because the cauliflower was not gluten-free and made me very, very sick. If you have a gluten sensitivity or celiac's, beware. I would have given 5 stars if it weren't for this error.
Please be mindful of this when filling orders. This could land someone in the hospital.
