The food was absolutely delicious. My group of 6 people had food allergies (shrimp and gluten) and our server, Chyane, was very kind and made sure that the kitchen was informed of our allergies. She answered all of our questions and made sure we had everything we needed. Chyane is awesome!
Nice atmosphere, clean restaurant, good pizza!
I was happy to introduce my friends to Monical's Pizza at this establishment, they were all impressed and enjoyed the food.
They offer gluten-free crust, and I have never gotten sick from contamination at any Monical's location.
They have a gluten-free menu available. The cashier is great about letting them know it's a gluten-free order and the kitchen staff change out their gloves. The food is delicious.
I came here for breakfast on a Tuesday in July. The space had lots of natural light and was clean. Strong A/C too. I mentioned I need gluten-free options, and the owner gave an excellent overview. It was clear they had put a lot of thought into accommodating customers with this food sensitivity. I had a decaf iced Americano coffee and a loaded strata. It had bacon and sausage on top of egg and was covered in gruyere cheese. Tasty! It also came with fresh fruit and a side of gluten-free toast. When I was finished I felt satisfied and well cared for. One of the best breakfasts I had while visiting Springfield.
Burgars are frozen Walmart burgars .. very thin and dry.. up charge for a gluten free bun 1.79$ plus 13$ sandwich was not worth it.. fries were partly raw.. covid killed this buisness.. was not worth 37$ for some burgars that were clearly not from Red Robin’s
I’d share my picture but don’t know how too..
Nancy’s pizzeria was a great find.
We ordered two pizzas… A gluten-free with sausage and spinach and then a cheese pizza. Both were medium size. The medium size were inhaled by our somewhat picky children. The medium was enough for two adults.
Atmosphere was quite nice with seating for 40+. There were tables, booths and high boys as well as probably eight seats at the bar. There is a large green TV that was playing football, but the volume was appropriate and not overwhelming for the space.
Staff was polite and receptive and easy to speak with.
If you’re looking for a nice pizza at a reasonable price in a comfortable environment, I would highly recommend Nancy’s pizzeria
I go to Finley's regularly and they always take incredible care of me!! I am gluten free and have never had an issue eating there.
Madison is an absolutely fantastic employee and I always love when she is there!!
This review is based on the fact that I visited this location with 100 middle school students on a pre-planned field trip and another school showed up about 15 minutes into our visit. The staff had a pretty good plan to only let 25 percent of my students out of their seats at one time. That worked well until the other group showed up while my last group of students were getting their drinks. After that, it was difficult for the restaurant staff to keep up with the food demand of the students. It was really good that they had other food options that middle schoolers were interested in, other than pizza. There was plenty of that, but a delay on some pizza options. I was really impressed that the restaurant had veggie and gluten-free free options for students and me. The gluten-free option was actually gluten-free because my body negatively reacts to any cross contamination or residue. The staff did do a pretty good with keeping the area clean with spills and students using plates just one time. The entire visit could have been more pleasant, if both schools weren't there at the same time. (It looked like 50 students from the other school.) The facility wasn't big enough to accommodate that many students at one time. If I go back with that many teenagers, I would insist on us having the location to ourselves for an hour. That should reduce the crowds at the serving lines and students needing to wait for certain types of pizza.
Worst experience I've ever had at a Culver's. Ordered Dlx DBL with no onions and gluten free bun and a concrete. Received opened gluten free bun, no meat and all the toppings. Had to stand around to front for the replacement. Had to ask several times for my concrete. Avoid this Culver's!
My daughter and I came here for a late dinner. My daughter had Celiac Disease so we have to be super careful where we eat. I'll be honest, there aren't many gluten-free options here, and they don't have a separate gluten-free menu but, we shared the chicken and goat cheese sandwich on a gluten-free bun and it was delicious. Although the server (Ben) seemed very cavalier at first (and made me nervous by it), in the end, he took very good care of us. The food was delicious. For drinks, I had the Victory Cerveza Lager with Lime. I'm not a huge craft beer person but this beer reminded me of a Corona. My daughter had the Pino Noir and she said it was delicious. As it turns out, they own the building next door and it has Bocce Ball, Corn Hole, and a cool looking bar. I'll definitely go back if I get the chance.
First time I went. About 2:30pm I am Gluten free and less busy times are easier to get the attention to my needs from servers that are less stressed. I also used to be a server I get it.
The place was clean decent crowd for the time. And got busier as I finished my bowl. Very much liked it. I had a little bit I’ve veggies and shrimp n calamari. Cpl bits of steak n chicken with “2” sauces. Yum yum and garlic. Cpl shakes of season. Everything was cooked thru not burnt but a little grill taste was perfectly done. Wish I remembered who actually cooked it I would request that person next time.
I foresee one minor issue. In the future there will be an assembly line to make the bowls instead of doing it ourself. Because of people like my ex, it was a let’s talk kinda date as he changed and his bowl said a lot about not changed at all. (I walked away after talk, ex is ex for a reason)
Any ways about the food. Highly recommend but please pleass for cost not to go up it’s perfectly priced. But if every one takes advantage of the price like my ex does it won’t stay cost effective.
So if you are one of these bowl fillers. Shout out to you, as you will be to blame for price change and you will be the first to complain about the changes too.
Now can we get one on the east side? Prob not for a long time be respectful when filling your bowl. Don’t be greedy O. Fresh.
Pic below decided to share the clip too if it loads
They have so many Gluten free items. The food is all delicious and so fresh! Definitely worth visiting. I am so glad we have this poke place in Springfield. Their sushi donuts are such a delight. We brought our own Nori (seaweed) to make a handroll with sushi donuts for our son who doesn't like to eat just a Poke bowl.
Our meal at Vele was phenomenal. The food was comparable to high-end restaurants in cities like Las Vegas. Our group had people with vegetarian, gluten, and no food-related restrictions and everyone was very happy with their meal. The cocktails were also great. The staff/service also needs to be mentioned. Our server was excellent. He was knowledgeable and friendly. Vele is a great addition to Springfield, IL.
I dined solo on a Saturday night. I made a reservation at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and attentive, which I appreciated. The Caesar salad had pistachios, which was an interesting twist. It was not a traditional Caesar. They were able to accommodate my gluten-free diet, which was great. The lamb loin main dish was interesting. The Colorado lamb was not at all gamey, which surprised me. It did seem a bit tougher to chew than I expected. The dessert was tasty. I was seeking a special experience and this place delivered. It seems to be one of the more creative restaurants in the area. I would definitely recommend it. Make sure to make a reservation!
Home Plate was the Grand Slam of our weekend. Charcuterie Board Appetizer was a huge hit. We are Low Carb with a gluten allergy & this hit the spot. Chicago style brats & dogs with no buns & side salads that were nice size! All were appealing to the eyes & the appetite. Manager stopped byvto check on us, owner checked on us (& others). This Sportsbar is a must visit. Variety of games on all the TVs. Oh...and we ordered a spicy sausage pizza to go....the sausage is the crust! Hope we are back soon! Check this place out!
My new favorite restaurant in Illinois. AMAZING shrimp, amazing steak, perfect service, gluten-free desserts and we loved the atmosphere. We'll be back many times.
The regular pho was delicious and they even served it with traditional fresh herbs, which so many places don't do. *Everything* is gluten free, too, which was great! Spring rolls had tasty shrimp and peanut sauce.
