A really good pub for service and gluten free options

We visited as a family group of 7 for breakfast to celebrate our sons birthday. We explained that our daughter has severe coeliac disease and requested some bacon and a poached egg for her (we had taken a gluten free roll with us), The server kept repeating that they could not guarantee there would not be any cross contamination and contradicted what she was saying about how it would be prepared, this made our daughter really worried about potential cross contamination so was not comfortable eating there as she had lost confidence in the food preparation. We ended up going to a local supermarket and buying food for her to bring back so she could enjoy the experience and be included. This was a very disappointing and we have not experienced at other restaurants before that claim to cater for Gluten Free. We would not recommend this cafe for people who have Coeliac as it was not an inclusive or enjoyable experience.

A lovely pub with stellar service! The staff were so attentive and kind. I wish I would have gotten the server's name but we had a toddler with us and she was so kind and lovely toward him. Food came out very quickly and was delicious. Cosy atmosphere with a nice log burner. Excellent gluten free options. Highly recommend.

The food was excellent, with attention given to gluten-free needs. Our server was great. Despite the recommendation to order several small plates each to share, the portions were quite large, larger than tapas portions that I'm used to. We ended up with too much food. Gluten free items included sea bass, poutine, chicken rogan josh, and broccoli with bok choy. Traditional items included a beef roulade, cheese dumplings, and a tartlet.

I’m not sure if the guy there is the manager but this is the second time we’ve come in and after I told them I’m gluten free, he has cleaned every surface so there is no crumb in sight, all handles, made sure the food he put in wasn’t contaminated- I have not seen any other subway make this kind of effort for my allergies - in fact I’ve never seen any other place wipe the surface down…And I’ve been to a fair few!! As a celiac who gets very anxious with eating out, I have absolutely no fear when walking in. Best employee who deserves a raise. Thankyou so so much! X
