I always try to make my way here to get some gluten free pancakes when I'm in Melbourne. Today I was looked after by Deb, who although was busy working hard, she was friendly and efficient. I'm grateful for getting my food and drink in good time and that the toilets were very clean!!!!
Love Fontys! Our regular pizza haunt. Vegan & coeliacs taken great care of with the best GF pizza in the world. And those 500ml Peroni - the perfect accompaniment to a classic Margherita. Dirk and his team really know how to take care of their diners. Keep up the great work folks! In the meantime Iβm off to have a glass of Pinot and a chat to Caelen at Rubi Mammas around the corner. Another fave Balnarring haunt.
We came for a late lunch and had a few smaller dishes, they were all fantastic. Everything was so delicious, we had the focaccia with pumpkin tahini, the romana beans, chipotle chicken and the arancini. Some of the tastiest food weβve had in Melbourne. Itβs a great location on the beach and has a nice vibe. Plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options.
Plenty of tasty celiac safe, gluten free options available.
Absolutely blown away by the service we received from Georgia, she was an absolute gem from start, attention to detail, and natural hospitality made us feel completely at home. She kept our drinks topped up all night without us even needing to ask, which made the entire evening feel so smooth and relaxed. Amazing recommendations for the seafood and steak, knows the menu so well and helped with dietaries.
From the moment we walked into Suburban Rooftop, we were treated like VIPs. The customer service was hands-down some of the best Iβve ever experienced at a restaurant. Every staff member we encounteredβfrom the host to the serversβwas warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.
We arrived a little early for our reservation, but the hostess was incredibly accommodating and got us seated with a great view almost immediately. Our server came over right away, introduced herself with a smile, and took the time to walk us through the menu, offering thoughtful recommendations based on our preferences. She checked in often, but never in an intrusive wayβjust the perfect balance of attentiveness and giving us space to enjoy our evening.
Even when the restaurant started getting busier, the quality of service never slipped. Our water glasses were always full, empty plates cleared promptly, and our food was brought out at just the right pace. The manager even stopped by our table to ask how everything was, which really showed that they care about their guests' experiences.
One of the highlights was how accommodating the staff were to dietary needsβour friend has a gluten allergy, and the kitchen went above and beyond to customize a dish for her without hesitation.
Itβs clear that customer satisfaction is a priority at Suburban Rooftop. Not only is the food excellent and the ambiance stunning, but the people truly make it a five-star experience. In an industry where great service can be hard to come by, Suburban Rooftop sets the bar high. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just grabbing dinner with friends, this place is a must-visit. Weβll definitely be back soon!
This restaurant offers the best tasting food in town, not to mention it has a really cool vibe. Our family has various dietary needs, such as vegetarian gluten free and lactose intolerance and they cater for all of it.
Wow really impressed wanted a light lunch
Calamari and bowl chips really good .
IPA beer brewed was really good.
Walked away happy
Everything was above expectations.
Keep It up.
Ps wife was also impressed gluten free beer on tap
Absolutely blown away! For what started as an impulse visit ended in black sheep becoming one of the best eating experiences I've ever had. Menu is well rounded with plenty of gluten free and vegan options, service is absolutely lovely, huge shoutout to Rose for lovely table service and suggestions, hats off to everyone involved
Lovely view and delicious food, the gluten free pizzas was really really good never had gluten free pizza like it! Seemed exactly like normal pizza. tacos were really nice and food was all good sizes
Great food, the staff did everything possible to get our orders ready and gluten free for us.
Tara did an amazing job handling business during busy times.
Will be back!
Ordered Gluten free garlic bread and Pizza
Absolute garbage, if you have ever bitten into plaster board thatβs what you will get
Garlic bread hard as nails, for Melbourne cuisine this is beyond disappointing.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Zambrero's, and my experience was elevated significantly thanks to a remarkable employee named Jack. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the vibrant atmosphere and the enticing aroma of fresh ingredients, but it was Jack's exceptional service that truly stood out.
Jack greeted me with a warm smile and a friendly demeanour, instantly making me feel welcome. His enthusiasm for the menu was contagious, and he took the time to walk me through the various options, highlighting the unique flavours and combinations available. As someone who can be indecisive when faced with a plethora of delicious choices, I greatly appreciated his patience and expertise.
What particularly impressed me was Jack's knowledge about dietary preferences and restrictions. He was attentive to my needs and offered insightful suggestions for gluten-free and vegetarian options without missing a beat. His genuine interest in ensuring I had a great dining experience was evident, and he went above and beyond to customise my order to perfection.
When it came time to prepare my meal, Jack's attention to detail and skill were on full display. He crafted a burrito bowl for me with precision, ensuring each ingredient was fresh and proportionate. The result was a delicious, satisfying meal that exceeded my expectations.
Beyond the food, Jack's positive attitude and excellent customer service made my visit memorable. He checked in with me after I started eating to ensure everything was to my liking and even offered a few extra tips on how to enhance the flavors with their various sauces and sides. It's rare to encounter someone who is not only proficient at their job but also genuinely passionate about creating a wonderful experience for their customers.
In addition to Jack's stellar service, the overall ambiance of Zambrero's was inviting and clean. The modern decor and comfortable seating provided a pleasant environment to enjoy my meal. The restaurant was well-maintained, and the staff seemed to work seamlessly together, contributing to a smooth and enjoyable dining experience.
In conclusion, my visit to Zambrero's was outstanding, thanks in large part to Jack. His exceptional service, combined with the delicious food and welcoming atmosphere, makes Zambrero's a standout choice for anyone looking for a great dining experience. I highly recommend stopping by and, if you're lucky, you'll get to experience Jack's top-notch hospitality firsthand.
A varied brunch menu (many interesting egg dishes) & a great selection of cakes. The orange cake was gluten-free & lush, but could have been sweeter. Very subjective :-)
The rest of us ate main courses, all of which were good. Mine was chicken & mushroom risotto, nicely cooked & presented. Excellent flavor. Caesar Salad is a generous serve, prawn linguine smelled good.
Service is polite, enthusiastic, very friendly... & incompetent. On Sunday afternoon I am very laid back. The wait staff are all late teens- but even allowing for that - oh my. We were delivered other people's dinner or drinks not once or twice, but six times. I think three different waiters did this.
I've been a waiter. We didn't complain (they were genuinely honest mistakes, really nice staff, it was brunch, let's get over ourselves). But six times?
I checked the bill carefully. It was right. We tipped :-) But check that the plate you receive is the one you actually ordered.
Would I go back? Absolutely
We attended 1915 for mothers day we had not heard of the venue before and booked at last minute not knowing what to expect. We were very happy with the 4 course meal with a variety of meals throughout the meal catered to one of the party being Celiac which was an easy fix with the whole menu being GF any way. The courses were well spaced out and of amazing quality. It was our first visit to the venue dont think it will be our last.
Amazing food, we had a platter and the kids had souvlakis. Fresh and delicious. Daughter said the gluten free souvlaki was the best she has ever eaten.
First time for a chicken and a beef burger on Gluten Free buns. Loved the burgers. Tasted fantastic. GF buns were really nice and reasonably priced.
I can see these burgers spreading galactically!
I've been an extremely loyal customer and recommender of Miss Pickles since the very first week you opened many years ago.
In that time I've seen a number of menu changes, the very slow introduction of desserts and a kids menu, celebrated many birthdays and occasions here....but a very noticeable difference in service since you started opening more stores. This had sadly resulted in a noticeable high turnover of staff, errors being made with orders, misinformation of the menu and sometimes quite slow service.
I keep coming back despite this, as my family and I enjoy the food. Unfortunately, I think I've now reached the point of no return. Since when does a souvlaki bowl come with super salad??? That I noticed last year. Tell me where in Greece this is served instead of Greek salad which is tradition and how you've always done it. That's not my issue, I used to swap it with no problems and no charge. Today, unfortunately I was charged extra to change the salad...why? (I didn't add the salad, i swapped). Firstly, nobody informed me I'd be charged when I asked to swap, nor the cost of this. Secondly, the super salad is more expensive on the menu than Greek salad? Greek salad is traditional, so i dont understand super salad being the chosen one. That is a very specific salad choice. It used to be years ago that greek salad was standard and when friends of mine wanted to swap to super salad, this was charged extra as it cost more. Also, why not list the swap cost on the menu for people to see like you do with the addition of poached eggs to your brunch? People should legally be informed. Why even charge extra, though? It's literally just a salad swap? No cooking, separate fry pan, gluten free bread, soy milk is required which is usually where you'd expect to pay extra for a swap. The salads are there and ready to go.
Goodbye Miss Pickles, it's been lovely knowing and visiting you, but the power trip has got to your head now. You will lose customers like you've lost a very loyal one in me.

The food was excellent as usual including the gluten free option.
The service from the staff was incredible but one staff member was particularly outstanding.
Savannah welcomed us with a warm and friendly smile and made sure our order was correct.
She had a lot of patience since our order had many divinations from the menu.
The environment had a friendly feel to it and we would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Don't dine here if you are a coeliac. We called before booking and was assured it was fine to eat here and I was violently sick after attending the buffet breakfast. The chef walked me around and showed me what I could eat and only ate what I was told (and didn't consume much).
I have contacted Crown 3 times with no response which is extremely poor to say that least considering how much money we spent to stay there as a family and to have our day there ruined!!
Stopped in for lunch. Staff were super friendly.
Their own beer and drinks were really good.
Gluten free pizza was absolutley delicious.
Good gluten-free beer options, also.
I went to this restaurant this evening with my partner as we were craving for some Thai. When we went the tables were not clean and the service was so slow. The menu only had 2-3 gluten free options, other Thai places that we have eaten in Melbourne have plenty of g/f options. Anyways we ordered two meals with an entree. They brought my husbands food pad kee mao and after a while they brought the steam rice and finally my curry. The satay chicken was dry and When I saw the curry it had a hair on it, I complained and they brought me another curry but by then my rice had gone cold. I then complained and they brought another rice. I didnβt really enjoy the food or the service. I had come here 3 years ago but thought their service would have changed but. It hasnβt. π
This Nando's has been a pretty solid local staple for the last 7 years or so and is always good if you are after a quick fix (not to mention, they are currently one of only two operating take-away options at this location if you don't count the cafe).
One of the few take away options that caters pretty solidly to those that are gluten free, and are a little tastier than their similar counterparts (not to mention more guilt-free).
It isn't the cheapest and you won't likely write home about it, but it is consistent and you will get what you are expecting.
Most noteworthy is the weekly lunch dates I used to have with my children here where we would walk down and split a seriously large chips 3 ways. It was something fun to do and a good treat on a budget.
Is near the top of my list when I am in the market for a chicken and chips treat that is safe for me to eat and would recommend to those in the mood for the same.
Had an AMAZING Cheeseburger today βΊοΈ the beef was cooked perfectly, salad and cheese were very fresh, sauce paired perfectly and all was encased in the best tasting gluten free bun Iβve tasted yet!
Staff were very friendly and helpful
The menu had quite a few gluten free options which for me (coeliac disease) was great βΊοΈ
A bottle of Tarot Prosecco went down a treat as well π
Spectacular! The food is outstanding and so is the service. My partner is celiac and they had so many options for us and were very helpful. We tried a variety of dishes and wouldnβt be able to choose a favorite. Great choice!
I cannot fault this place. The girls are lovely and tonight with my own fault of not reading the menu properly as I canβt have gluten I ordered a dish with gluten, and when it came out and I realised I screwed up, they made me a whole new dish that was gluten free and didnβt even charge me for the 2 dishes, just one. We come here maybe once a week to once a fortnight. Itβs always our go to. Highly recommend!!
We had the antipasto, mixed grill and a range of desserts all was absolutely delicious. Staff were very attentive, friendly, providing a great atmosphere and able to cater to a gluten free requirement. Very well priced for what we got, definitely worth the 5 stars and our group is already talking about coming back! Definitely a not to miss restaurant in Footscray and the inner west, recommend coming with a group so you get to try everything.
