Burger was just adequate. Tomato was underripe. Bun was dry. Service/ friendliness was absent. They don’t ask for tips that may be why. Fries were good. I had a gluten allergic reaction after 30 minutes even though it’s reportedly a dedicated frier. Parking in the area is a nightmare… we wouldn’t come back.
I was very pleased with the gluten friendly menu. Dessert options were great. Malachi was great at knowing all the dessert options. My food came exactly how I ordered. Oh and the Italian Moscato was delish.
I recently was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and have to eat gluten free. The gluten free pizza here is incredible! I have been going to mellow mushroom since way before I got diagnosed and their food has always been amazing. I was just not expecting their gluten free menu to be equally as good! Love it!
We stopped here due to other reviews that said they offer gluten free menu and options since I’m celiac.
Atmosphere and service excellent. For the quality of food, it was great but the flavors could be better versus other places I’ve eaten at.
Multi family group of 9...3 adults, 3 college guys and 3 younger boys waited over an hour while multiple booths opened parties of 2 and 3 were set immediately after arriving. Our group could've fit perfectly in 2 booths. We actually overheard the manager tell the most wonderful hostess to not worry about the party of 9 when she was working on getting us seated. Our reasoning for choosing Brixx is due to their gluten free menu. Our waiter spilled a drink and partially mopped it with towels. We had a missed order of wings that was mistaken for a pizza which had our 12 yr old starting his meal after most of us were finished. Absolutely uncalled for!!! The food wasn't bad but way too pricey for the serving size. Here is the kicker...Our group split the bill which caused our waiter turmoil. He had us review the split tickets to make sure they were correct. Then he took the tickets and added 20% gratuity onto both tickets without evening asking. I believe in tipping but this should be up to the patrons discretion. This was my family's first and last visit which doesn't bother me one bit.
Sincerely,
Dissatisfied and disappointed!!!
Placed a catering order the day before for a work function. The service was great but the food itself was disappointing and the bread was stale. The gluten free bread was torn in half lengthwise in one box. It was definitely not worth the price and will not be ordering again.
Food was piping hot and delicious. Several gluten friendly and vegetarian options. I got the shrimp and grits, the best grits I have recently. Mom got the meatloaf which she says is the best restaurant meatloaf ever. Everything was absolutely delicious.
The staff was excellent, the waiter kept our glasses full.
Even the chairs were comfy.
We were traveling through Winston Salem today and were pleased to find Village Juice & Kitchen. The menu had a great selection of healthy choices and very clearly marked vegan and gluten free options.
First time here. Nice atmosphere. Excellent service. And great food. Server was very knowledgeable with regard to lumen free needs of one diner. Got two Tacos, beef with hard corn shells (gluten free) and Pollo Peluza (chicken with green pepper, squash and other veggies over rice) . Even the chips and salsa were outstanding. Chips are on the thicker side with a little spice kick. If you have not been, give it a try. Oh. And prices reasonable too for generous portions.
We visited this Jersey Mike’s location yesterday. My boyfriend and I are gluten free (my boyfriend actually has celiac) so we ordered gluten free subs. Normally, at the usual location we frequent in Clemmons, they are very careful about not cross-contaminating. However, they were very busy and there were several rude customers ahead of us, so we understood that mistakes might be made (they forgot several sandwich toppings like bacon and onions). But when we started eating them my boyfriend immediately felt sick and I felt sick a little later. We thought it was something else we ate earlier because we have never had a problem with Jersey Mike’s. So we didn’t put it together until today, but we’ve been sick for two days. We understand that it was busy, but that kind of mistake could have been dangerous, especially for my boyfriend who has celiac. The sandwiches are normally amazing, but this time, besides the items forgotten, it was not a pleasant experience.
The coffee is great, but the best part about this place is the owners. They are so incredibly nice and foster a welcoming coming. I love that they make their own tea blends, syrups, and pastries. They also usually have a few gluten free options. They brew their own coffee, and it is very high quality.
Great, clean and delicious food with a variety of options that cater to anyone including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free. Quick service but made to order makes for a good lunch and dinner place if you are not in a hurry. Friendly staff and service is always a plus and can be found here.
The gluten free waffle was so amazing that I had to ask if there was a mistake. It was incredible! Everything that we had was fresh, delicious and almost addictive. My favorite breakfast spot in the city!
We had a GREAT experience at CAVA in Winston-Salem. We were served by Ben, a new hire, who was so conscientious and efficient. One member of our party had a dairy and gluten allergy. Ben guided us thru the selections and served up a safe and delicious bowl. Ben should receive honors for new hire or the month. Thank you Ben and CAVA.
I recently visited The Downtown Grille for the first time, choosing it based on its stellar reputation—and it more than lived up to expectations. From the moment we walked in, the experience was exceptional.
The service was outstanding, thanks to our server, Alex, who was knowledgeable and attentive, offering great recommendations that enhanced our meal. We started with two sides: the burrata and the octopus. Both were excellent, but the octopus stood out for being incredibly tender and flavorful.
For entrées, my clients shared the 16oz ribeye, which was perfectly cooked, while I opted for the chicken marsala. Both dishes were beautifully prepared and full of rich, balanced flavors. Two of us eat gluten-free, and the restaurant easily accommodated our dietary needs without compromising on taste.
Adding to the experience, General Manager Jon and Executive Sous Chef Giovanni took the time to visit our table, chatting with us about the menu and ensuring everything was perfect. Their passion for hospitality and attention to detail truly set this restaurant apart.
My goal was to impress my clients, and The Downtown Grille delivered on every level. In the process, I also discovered a new favorite spot. I’ll definitely be returning for business or to enjoy another outstanding meal. Highly recommended!
They forgot my bun. I went over there for a gluten free bun because I cannot eat gluten when I got home to eat my food THERE WAS NO BUN JUST GRILLED CHICKEN!!! 😭 didn’t even get what I came for.
Food was delicious, well cooked, provided gluten free bread for sandwiches. Atmosphere was calm and relaxing, especially sitting by the window to watch people walk by with their dogs or the fish swimming in the pond. Service was great, friendly and attentive staff. I would go back again :)
Loved the Paloma!! I also ordered guacamole de la casa, queso and Tres Mexicana. All were either very good or delicious. Vegetarian friendly and gluten-free friendly. Friendly service, too.
I ordered Arepa after speaking with the young man taking orders at the counter. I informed him that I had gluten allergy. He showed me the list of items next to the counter that shows foods that can be gluten-free. After looking at the list, I asked for his recommendation. He recommended the Arepa. It was very good.
Stopped there on our way home from a holiday visit. The staff was very nice and worked with us to get good food around my childrens particular allergies and tastes. They have a nice selection of Gluten Free foods. The food was excellent, not just for the location on our trip but honestly some of the best Italian food I've tasted.
They were so helpful and helped me to alter the lunch menu taquitos to make them vegan (taquitos are already gluten free). Instead of cheese, they used fajita veggies plus potatoes. Yum!! They should add it to the menu! Chips and salsa served when seated at the table as well. Very tasty! Would definitely return to this location!
Denise was awesome! She was attentive without being intrusive. Paid close attention to my gluten-free meal. Such a great experience. The meal was delish, too!
Very nice place, greeted at entry, got a comfy round booth. Many couples with very well behaved kids. Interesting ambiance: fireplace and high beams, but 90’s music playing. I would have gone for a smooth jazz vibe I think. Service was excellent, Emma, and my Primativo wine was delicious in a gorgeous glass, and although we had a bobble on drinks (the sprite was out) she quickly fixed it. Be careful ordering the Basil Bulliet. It’s a whisky SOUR. No simple or sweetness and you can’t taste the bourbon or basil, just lemon. Our food came out super fast, and the Goat cheese “crusted” (sprinkled) chicken was super yummy and gluten free. Husband got lobster ravioli and dad got spiced salmon (spice flavors not heat). Although everything was very nice, we didn’t necessarily want to linger; we were in at 5:30 and in the car by 6:34. Good solid restaurant, but I wish they would tweak a couple aspects.
The best coffee in Winston-Salem and amazing pastries! Appreciate all of the gluten free and vegan options! We love coming here on Saturday morning with the kids and hanging out back. It is so peaceful, and the kids love the chickens!
Great Italian food in a nice cozy atmosphere. Authentic dishes, good quality sauce and cheeses etc. My husband loves everything he's gotten here, particularly their calzone and stromboli.
I'm gluten free and their gluten free pizza is SO GOOD!!! No joke, it's the best I've ever had. I don't say that lightly. I don't think they make the crust in house. But it seems to be Italian, because it looks and tastes like it was authentically made (I literally pictured an elderly Italian man lovingly throwing the dough in the air fresh just for me 😆).
It is not like the gluten free crusts you get anywhere else, including the grocery stores. While they can be so-so, this one is BETTER. It even has flour on it, like it was just rolled out fresh, it has bubbles on the crust area like regular fresh pizza crusts get, and an actual chewy crust. Of course when you throw in their sauce and good quality mozzarella cheese, it's literally the best!!
This feels like a hidden gem of Winston Salem. Even at a busy and packed event, the parking was easy to find. The beer is always great here. I love that they offer a cider for the gluten free community. I came on a Saturday where they had a cute holiday market. I loved being able to support small and local business in such a great way.
The bartender thought she was ordering my burger as a lettuce wrap (after confirming with the kitchen that there was no gluten-free bun option), but in the system it was just "as a wrap." She offered to have them redo it, but I kept it for the novelty (I'm not strictly gluten free). It was decent, but under-seasoned (to be fair, I omitted the cheese) and I ended up adding ketchup (bacon jam would have been nice). The veggies were excellent as is.
