We ordered takeout. The time quoted was spot on, we had hot pizza when we arrived home. We tried the gluten free pizza and the hot honey pepperoni pizza. The gluten free crust needs a little revamping, but good. The hot honey pizza was disappointing. We’ve had the lasagna pizza before and it was excellent! Not so this time. The pizza was way undercooked so the dough was almost raw under the sauce. The sauce itself was quite bland. And this is nitpicking, but the pepperoni could have been could have been more evenly distributed by a kindergartner! This was disappointing because you really needed pepperoni in each bite as the pizza was quite bland.
This place has become our regular spot because everything on the menu is fantastic! We always order the garlic knots, mozzarella sticks, Tony Soprano sandwich, and a pepperoni pizza — and everything is consistently delicious. The gluten-free pizza is really good too, one of the best we’ve had anywhere. Everyone should try the Nonna pizza — it’s a must! The sauce and crust on that one are on another level.
On top of the great food, the owners and staff make you feel like you’re being welcomed by family. Highly recommend this spot to anyone craving great Italian comfort food!
I think about the Vito’s salad all the time. Delicious gluten free pizza. There’s a chocolate pot o crème or custard that isn’t on the menu but it’s gluten free and to die for. They price menu toppings the way they should e.g. 50 cents for onions and $6 for freshly blackened chicken breast. The house made Italian sausage is only a dollar, though and it’s divine.
Tickled to death to have found this place. I called ahead and spoke to Andy to ask questions about gluten free food preparation and options. Not often do I get a warm and fuzzy feeling about a new place, but I got it here. I asked if it's best to call my order in or place it online and he offered to take it then. The store still didn't open for another ten minutes. Shame on me for not getting the names of the two people at the counter when I picked up the order because they were delightful. The young woman was warm and welcoming, the young man was engaging and helpful. I mentioned I had called and spoke to Andy. Turns out Andy is the manager and is out of state even though he took my call (I had selected 1 to speak with manager) AND took my order. He called the store to tell them the order and to handle appropriately due to the food restrictions.
It was really nice that even though the manager was out of town, the team was still united with proper communication. It was a great experience with the staff for sure.
The burger was delicious! I do wish their was a gluten free side option, but that's ok. I will absolutely be coming back to the Burger Barn and will be sure to get the names of those individuals that helped me today, too! Thanks for a delicious lunch and taking great care of my dietary needs today. See you again soon!
Always fresh and plenty of organic options. I eat vegan and gluten free. They cater to both these preferences with lots of animal protein options as well.
Been here twice, once on a girls’ night out and again with my family (two young kids) and I’ll keep coming back.
Service is good and the food is tasty! I’d say it’s slightly more authentic than your American Italian so there’s something for everyone to enjoy. 1 star off because service can slip a bit when busy, needing to find a server for water and slower wait time.
Big fan of the calamari, apricot chicken with tossed garlic linguine on side, and seafood risotto—HUGE chunks of lobster and plentiful seafood cooked well.
A couple things to note:
-No kids menu (or entertainment like crayons, not a problem)…waitress gave few options like flatbread pizza, spaghetti and meatballs and chicken tenders for the littles
-Gluten Free pasta is a minimal up charge
-Happy Hour is a must for appetizers! (Half off before 6pm—Didn’t get drinks so I can’t say anything in that regard)
Recommend: Apricot Chicken, Seafood Risotto, Chicken Parmesan, Calamari
