Great pub as you would hope. Gluten free food is available despite what the menu indicates. if you ask permanent staff they will give you the confidence you need to eat food and be ok the next day. I understand all food is cooked fresh on site so most choices can be adapted. Beers are great but better still the wines are poured from the casks. Happy days. Apparently the music is good Start at about 9.30 on the days we visited though too tired to verify Hope that helps. R
We went to Nancys Barn for lunch and had the great Seafood Chowder and a lovely sandwich. Both was fresh, very delicious and generous portions. I really liked it that there are several vegan and gluten-free options. The service was so friendly and I really liked the atmosphere. In the evening we listened to the live music, we liked it so much there, that we had to go there again and had a wee chat with the owner, who is so authentic and sympathetic. Unfortunately we’re here only for a day otherwise we’d have come back again. Lovely spot, highly recommend!
Beautiful location, we were staying locally on holidays and had dinner and drinks there a few times. With the 3 meals we had there, one thing was forgotten each time and never brought. The staff there were young and untrained. One meal we didn't even have glasses for water despite asking several times. The food itself was nice, not the best but nice. However the terrible experiences with the staff were really off putting. There was little continuity of table service and when I asked for a gluten free beer one night I was told they don't have any only to meet a man drinking one several minutes later. I'm afraid the best part of this place is it country charm and location. Very disappointing as it could be fabulous
