I always enjoy coming to Sowers when we're in State College! They have some good Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free options if you're not sensitive to eggs or rice! I've not ever got something I didn't like here!

So...ordered online and picked up to bring home.
First experience with Noodles & Company.
Ordered a bunch of things to share with family.
The Korean meatballs tasted good, however they had a weird texture, akin to those cheap "fake" meatballs.
The dishes we ordered were good but, for example, the BBQ pork mac&cheese only had a topping of pork and cheese? The noodles underneath had no sauce and were just naked noodles? It wasn't like creamy mac and cheese?
I also ordered the zucchini Alfredo montamore with chicken. Once I got to the hotel, I noticed it wasn't zucchini noodles, but regular spaghetti noodles. I can't have gluten, so this was a problem.
I had also included an order of pot stickers, but they were out of those and a note in my bag said they'd be refunded.
I did call the establishment about the noodles vs zucchini noodles and was promised a refund for them by 9pm?
The flavors were good for the food but the lack of any sauce and the wrong order along with missing food was not my favorite experience.
Love Chick-fil-A. Always fast. Has gluten free options that work for us. This location is very difficult to get into and out of, but Chick-fil-A is great and this location has fantastic employees!
DONT SLEEP ON ROOTS— I’ve been seeing many penn staters post about Roots but never checked it out for myself UNTIL yesterday and I’ve gotta say, it has definitely become a new take-out staple. DELICIOUS healthy options and good portions. I’m a vegetarian, so for me, if honestly say it’s better than Chipotle🤭 pretty good prices too & super friendly staff.
**gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options available!!**
Delicious food, incredibly friendly and helpful staff, and cute. Great choice if you're gluten-free, and you can get the queso removed from anything if you're avoiding dairy. The food reheats really well, too
Pretty good. I appreciated the gluten free bun. The chips were just alright and the pickle didn't have a ton of flavor. I would recommend going with fries or another side instead
I have a gluten allergy and the employees did a fantastic job making sure everything was wiped down and were clearly knowledgeable on allergy procedures, without me having to ask or prompt them to wipe anything down (and the sandwich was delicious)! Thank you to those employees for making sure my food was safe!!
In town for the Penn State Hockey game and staying next door at the Fairfield Inn and Suites and Otto's Pub was very convenient for drinks and food. We have been at Otto's before but not for a couple of years. Our first night we tried the margarita pizza, not impressive, very thin with little crust and very soggy. Tasted almost gluten free. Would not order again. The beer selection was decent, but my lager choice was fairly flat with very little carbonation. Our second night eating at Otto's was somewhat better, my wife liked her Reuben sandwich, and my chili was just average. Not impressed with the beer I had. Overall service was excellent.
We ordered through Grubhub tried to call the restaurant to make them aware that one of us had a Gluten Allergy. We could not call the N. ATHERTON store directly, we couldn't talk to anyone, kept getting a stupid recording which wasn't any help!!!
My family and I really enjoyed our visit to RE Farm. We went for tapas and stayed for trivia. The tapas menu was a bit limited but still had options for everyone, including gluten-free and vegetarian. Everything we ordered was delicious.
The trivia game was 4 rounds with about 5 questions each, which was the perfect length. The questions were a great mix of categories that allowed for everyone on our team to participate. A few rounds had a mystery taste test where you had to guess the secret ingredient - these were the highlight of the night.
The reservation system was a bit confusing as it was unclear what exactly was included in the fee. Overall though, we had a great time enjoying fresh and flavorful tapas. RE Farm is a really cool concept that is totally different from anything you can find downtown, highly recommend giving them a try!
Staff is knowledgeable about gluten in their products and are helpful in making substitutions as needed. They didn't make me feel like a bother. They have the great Coke machine there, so I got some flavors I rarely get. The only bad part is they don't have trays and I ordered soup. They put a lid on to help me out.
A lovely new spot and much needed addition to the local food scene! They are debuting the full food menu tomorrow so today was a coffee date, and my first time trying Turkish coffee! Definitely recommend trying it and getting the experience--very strong coffee that is not at all bitter. I normally can't drink black coffee at all but this was excellent. It's served with a little sparkling mineral water and two small Turkish delights. I also got the rice pudding which was excellent. I'll definitely be back for brunch!
I was also delighted that they had a couple gluten free cookie/muffin options. Would love to see those options carried through to the full menu, and having gluten free bread to go with shakshuka!
