This place is absolutely delicious! The focus of their menu is plant-based first, and then there are some non plant-based options that you can add, like a real beef patty, salmon, and a couple of other things. For a place that you just order up at the counter, the menu is quite extensive, including an entirely separate gluten-free menu, which is extensive as well. Everything is made fresh, and the portion sizes are big. I highly recommend the tempeh bacon on anything and the red curry fries. They also have a wider array of non-alcoholic beverages as well as beer, wine, and coffee. And there is a large outdoor covered patio that also has lights for at night time. All in all, it's a great place for the plant-based and non plant-based alike!
We called in our dinner order for pick-up. I had the bison burger which was really good. Wife had grilled cheese on gluten free bread that she enjoyed very much. We both got sweet potato fries that tasted like the oil was end of life. But the ranch made up for it.
We were visiting from out of state and found this restaurant using the Find Me GF app. After circling downtown to try to find parking for what seemed like forever, we finally made it into The Wild Pear. I'm glad we did! The food was high quality, very tasty, and there were great gluten-free options, including dessert! We were pleased with our meal, and our waitress was top notch, too! We left with happy, full bellies.
Great food and service!
I’ve gotten the risotto, French fries can be done gluten free, and the gf breakfast waffle and I think the hash bowl before.
They have great options and I’ve always felt safe eating here as a celiac.
We came in and I accidentally ordered regular crepes when they should’ve been gluten free due to allergy. They were so kind and accommodating and made all new crepes. Thank you French Press Staff. As always, the crepes and coffee is always good!!!
Pretty darn good. Found them while searching online for gluten-free, friendly restaurants in town. It's a little pricey, but the food is delicious and a little different for Salem. Lots of drink choices.

My wife and I went for our anniversary. I'm celiac, so finding a nice place that can meet my dietary needs is always a challenge. The food was outstanding. We had the salmon and the pork chop and they were both flawlessly executed. Our server was very kind and attentive and really went out of her way to look out for my dietary restrictions and ensure we had a great experience. Hands down the best dining experience we've ever had in Salem. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Nice people and cozy atmosphere. The burgers were so full of flavor 😋 & my husband absolutely loved the homemade tater tots 😋 and they could do gluten free buns! Yum!!
We wereny sure what to think of this place at first, but then the food came.... The chicken and waffles were incredible, and gluten free! So excited to have delicious gluten free food.
This was my second time going and it was just as amazing as the first time. We were seated promptly and our waiter, Dyllan, was prompt and great with descriptions and recommendations. The only thing that was a slight bummer for me is the gluten-free options are limited. We had the shrimp and bacon risotto, brisket quesadilla and the Brussel sprouts. it was all amazing.. Will definitely be going back.
Stopped in on our way home from up north.
I love the pb bacon pickle burger on a gluten free bun. Fries didn’t bother me either. Their house sauce is so good.
The gentlemen at the counter was so patient with my girls asking a zillion questions.
Atmosphere was good. Needed a little wipe downs but other than that. Good food!
The staff is friendly and attentive. Pleasant atmosphere. Food is great, though gluten free options are limited. Main dining, bar, patio are, and banquet room have always been clean and maintained. Great place for meeting with friends and catching up.
The service was awesome the lady at the counter was super nice and the people at this place take gluten allergies very seriously. The service was extremely fast at least taking three minutes in total for pretty much everything (except for stuff like extra sauces which still took at least a minute or less). The men’s bathroom looked like it was cleaned by angels yesterday, and even the table has information about it that said stuff that made me feel like it was built by angels who had just traded the old wood for brand new wood at a poor orphanage. And the containers had minimal plastic even.
The food at this establishment is actually really good. The worst part is the manager. My family and I came in with a large party. The manger was beyond rude. They served my mother who has celiacs disease regular pasta she ate half of it before she realized. We asked for dessert menus and the manager came up and took our order and then she started to "clean" our table. She was bashing objects around. As she was "cleaning" she have the dirtiest look to my 2-year-old nephew. They charged us for the pastas even though they basically poisoned my mother. I called them and asked why they wouldn't comp the meal because of their mistake. The manager accused us of walking out on the bill which we did not do. The waitress accidently forgot to run our card. The whole experience was bad, and she was very rude.
We are so lucky to have Isaac’s in Salem! The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciate all their gluten free and dairy free options.
Brooklynn is the one who took my order today and they were so sweet and personable!
It has a great atmosphere and very welcoming. So nice to have a fresh, made to order drink and also vegan/non-dairy, gluten free pastry treats that melt in your mouth.
Very good food! Fast service and very kind to cater to this mutant ( gluten-free)! The food is really good, tastes home cooked, so flavorful! Will be back!
Such a hidden gem, great service and very friendly staff.
I have celiac disease and I have repeatedly returned for the L1 Happy Bibimbap bowl and have always been great. They bring gf soy sauce! The menu is confusing in terms of celiac safe so i would recommend asking and confirming before eating.
Their food was good. Many great options for drinks. I thought they'd have more Gluten Free options. Not really a place I'll go often. If I do, maybe it'll be to try their drinks
One of the best gluten free pizzas we've had. And I LOVE how they don't skimp on their toppings. You definitely get your money's worth. Fresh, hot, gooey pizza with lots of toppings -- yum! Our only complaint was that the garlic that we had put on as a topping had obviously not been roasted first; so it was tart and had a bite to it because it hadn't been cooked enough. Garlic should really be roasted before being used as a topping.
My 7 year old daughter has a gluten food restriction and they were so kind and helpful finding a meal that fit both her wants and dietary restrictions. Our server was taitum. And she did a great job!
I am unsure if this is celiac safe so I don't want to mislead anyone, but I felt they put alot of care and effort in.
And mainly wanted to share this menu that they provided for gluten free options and how to navigate their menu with a gluten restriction.
I wish we lived closer to this location!!!! Most all Baja experiences are very good-but this one was absolutely exceptional. The owner was helpful, kind, and attentive. He was sooo diligent in helping me get something gluten free for my celiac son. Stopped in with my whole family; we all had delicious meals and were thoroughly impressed!
Very disappointing. I got a chicken pesto on gluten free wrap. The wrap was dry, crumbly, and old. I paid for double meat and didn’t even get enough meat to fill the wrap. They had it on the grill for less than a minute and the meat was cold in the middle.
Came here for a going away celebration. The service was excellent. Many options for beers, ciders, hard Seltzer, and even their own hop water (which was super delicious). They also have non-alcoholic drinks like pop and juice for kids. They make homemade pizzas and it was delicious. I do wish there were more options on toppings and Sauces, and they were out of the Gluten free crust, but for the price and taste, I can't complain.
There is indoor and outdoor seating. It was nice outside, so we were out there. There is also a food truck outside, but it was not open at the time I was there.
Will visit again!
I have never written a review before but I had to make this my first. Best burger and loaded fries I have ever had in my LIFE. I am gluten free, and their options are perfect and don’t taste like trash or completely fall apart in your hands. I’ll be thinking about them all month.
We have had some mediocre service and food experiences here. They do make sure our request for gluten free is honored by getting new food and utensils, so if you're looking for a good gluten free experience then this is a good place. Their portions have changed drastically and their customer service is meh.
Super fun and in a food market hall! You order at the counter and choose anywhere to sit. You do bus your own table. The food does not have gluten-free items marked, but there are a couple of rice plates that should suffice.
Fantastic pizza from a small corner shop. Pleasantly surprised! Gluten free only comes in 14", but at least they've got something to appease all the gluten free people showing up to your kids birthday parties 🥳
My wife and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary here last night and had a wonderful time. Chelsea was our server and she did a fantastic job despite the understaffed conditions she was working under (bartending, serving, running food, bussing tables, she was a 1 person crew but did a great job) My wife enjoyed the cioppino and I had the salmon filet which was cooked perfectly and was fall-apart tender! They were also very helpful in navigating our gluten and dairy intolerances for both meals. Chelsea made us some great cocktails as well! The only reason for leaving 4 stars out of 5 is because we feel there should've been more service staff instead of having one person run the whole front of house.

Lela was an awesome host! Excellent service and amazing food! I have celiac and I am very allergic to gluten. She took the time to explain the menu in detail and tell me what all of my gluten free options were. I will definitely be back!
