I would not recommend this place for allergies, especially for people with celiacs. Unfortunately, places like this are the most dangerous for people with food allergies. The menu is marked and seems inclusive, but the staff I interacted with was not aware and did not care or take note when I asked about gluten free options and said that I have a gluten allergy. The person working didn’t know what I was talking about when I asked if the fries are fried in a shared fryer and was annoyed when I asked if she could check. She left and didn’t come back with a clear answer so, I played it as safe as possible and my food still came out carelessly on bread. I brought it to the counter and they brought it right back out without the bread. No communication. At that point I started noticed the lipstick on marks on my water cup and the jars of shared condiments where anyone can dip whatever utensils they want into it (including contaminated knives spreading on bread and back). I was grossed out. I have celiacs. These details matter. I know how to navigate menus and how to respectfully advocate for the bare minimum. It’s not clean and it’s not safe.

Be wary if you have issues with gluten here. Their menu states that they take "extreme cautions to minimize the risk of cross contamination", but the waitress told me that they boil their noodles in the same water as their dumplings, meaning ANYTHING with noodles is cross contaminated (including the pho and spring rolls). Honestly, this is super disappointing and does not indicate much care for minimizing cross contamination. That being said - their cocktails were tasty. My husband got their pho and enjoyed it. I got the Vietnamese chicken curry, which was tasty but VERY spicy. Service was kinda slow; it took quite a while to get our drinks ordered and then to get our food order in. They brought out our entrees but forgot my husband's summer rolls. I also requested no cilantro on my dish but it came out with a huge sprig on top. Overall I found this to be a disappointing experience, considering the blatant cross-contamination and hit-and-miss service.

First time here It was recommended. I ordered 2 gluten free beef empanadas and 3 chicken and a regular chicken. The beef were actually beans I didn't see any beef and tasted only beans so no beef. I also didn't notice that one chicken was missing, but I had walked a long way and didn't go back to correct order. I ate what I received (though I'm not a bean person) and they were good. The chicken I had pickup for someone else... I will revisit when I'm in the area again. Coming from Brooklyn is a long way👀 and will check the order before walking away.. its a curb side spot so you order from a window.

Green Olive Pizza: A Gluten-Free Oasis in a Kosher Desert Listen up, fellow New Yorkers. We all have those food memories, the tastes of childhood that cling to us like a good slice of pizza grease. For me, before the gluten-free life chose me, it was the falafel and pizza joints of Flushing, Queens. Now? Finding a decent gluten-free falafel, let alone a pizza, that doesn't taste like cardboard is a quest worthy of Indiana Jones. Enter Green Olive Pizza. This place, my friends, is a revelation. Kosher and a gluten-free haven? It's like they read my mind. The decor is pleasant, with a subtle nod to its Jewish theme – nothing over the top, just a comfortable, neighborhood vibe. The staff? So kind, so friendly, you'll feel like you've known them for years. But let's get to the important stuff: the food. As someone who remembers the glory days of gluten-filled falafel, I can tell you, Green Olive's gluten-free version is legit. It's got that same satisfying melt in your mouth cornucopia of flavors, that transports me back to those Flushing days. And if the gluten-free is this good, I can only dream about what their regular pizza is like. There are unique flavors here, for sure, but they're not trying to be fancy for the sake of fancy. Everything is well-balanced, delicious, and, most importantly, satisfying. For a gluten-free, New Yorker, Green Olive Pizza isn't just a restaurant; it's a lifeline. It's a place where I can enjoy the flavors I love without sacrificing my dietary needs or my memories. Thank you, Green Olive Pizza, for bringing a little bit of home back into my life.
