We walked all over Bozeman from one pizza place to the next until we found Sidewall. We were greeted by very friendly employees and sat quickly. It was quiet for a Friday night, and there was only one other table.
We ordered a small Greek salad, two sides of their homemade ranch, and a gluten free Hot Hawaiian (Aloha Friday deal 1/2 off Hot Hawaiian). It was only $25 for our whole meal! The Greek salad was very tasty and the gluten free pizza crust was sooo fluffy! Their ranch was on the runny side but tasted amazing with fresh herbs.
The service was excellent and quick. Our server, Piper, was great! She was very friendly, gave her honest recommendations, and made sure the pizza was gluten free. We’re definitely planning on stopping by again and trying their other pizzas! As a plus, it is in the Emerson Cultural Center and has a lot of reasonably priced galleries from MT artists across the hall.
This place was great! A LOT of gluten free options including tempura sushi, tamari sauce, poke bowls, sushi, and most of the menu. (Clearly marked on the menu) Atmosphere and service were both great. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and the food was quick and delicious. Will definitely recommend!
Celiac friendly! Gluten free options. Menu clearly identifies which food items contain gluten.
If I could give this restaurant 6 stars I would!
Some of the best sushi I have ever had in the US! Service was excellent with an amazing atmosphere to match!
A must when in Bozeman!
Great spot for a variety of delicious ciders. It’s great to have a place where all the options are gluten free and the staff is friendly. They have indoor and outdoor seating, great for socializing and playing games!
No options for food allergies which is sad (with the exception of a salad with no dressing). They were quick to jump on the hype of eliminating seed oils and advertise they now use beef tallow which is just hilarious but they don’t offer dairy free or gluten free options. You jump on the seed oil train but ignore legit diseases such as celiac? Do you understand people with real food allergies want to be able to eat out in this town? And no I’m not from CA…. born and raised in MT and lived in Bozeman for over twenty years….and yes, food allergies are real. Please start offering DF and GF options for those of us that want to enjoy eating out, contribute to the local food scene, and spend money in our community. I’ve mulled over writing a review for a very long time because I don’t want to complain but it’s so frustrating to see you make an instant change with seed oils while ignoring food allergies.
You know when you eat pizza and it makes you feel heavy..and the grease is just over powering? Not here...Why haven't I been coming here more often? You can literally eat the whole box of pizza without any regret. Even the gluten free pizza was a hit!
This is the first time I've had pizza and didn't taste grease. The crust is perfect and everything tastes really fresh. Garlic bread was on point too!! They were slammed when I got takeout and although parking sucks, it's all worth it. Point being, the food wasn't compromised even though they were so busy and it's always been ready on time too! My new favorite pizza in town!
Best pizza in or around Bozeman! It’s a tradition for us to take in a buck pizza on our trip to Montana! We always look forward to it. Their gluten free white pizza is amazing and rivals their normal crust pizza!
They are sooooooo delicious!!! And gluten free guys!!!! I wasn’t sure what to get or how to go about combining the ingredients into something I would like, he did amazing!!!! What a co-creation! Good job guys! Keep up the good work!!
A delicious experience! Parking can be challenging- don’t let that deter you from securing a reservation! Staff is helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating to food intolerances/allergies. Starter of sourdough toast, herbed butter and radishes gives you insight into talent in the kitchen. The Lake Fish Tacos- gluten free btw- were beyond my expectations! Corn tortillas made in house, lightly battered fish, a delicious slightly spicy sauce with cilantro had me savoring every bite. The beans were reminiscent of ranch style beans only so much more flavorful. The double burger had an outstanding bun; the burger patties were cooked to perfection. A generous portion of hand cut fries completed to plate. Save room for dessert- a chocolate chip cookie, or chocolate pudding with whipped cream and candied hazelnuts makes an excellent end to a fantastic dining experience!
Well done, Little Star! Our new favorite local restaurant…we will be seeing you often😋

Make sure you ask for gluten free noodles even if it's got the gf icon on the menu, made that mistake last time. Otherwise the food is great and so are the people 🤝
The waitress was wonderful! A gentleman brought out the salads and was reaching over everyone’s plate to put them where they belong on the table, which I thought was extremely unprofessional and gross because you never should reach over somebody’s plate. My son has celiac disease and he informed them of that they brought out mashed potatoes with gravy and a french fry had fallen in the mashed potatoes and they nonchalantly said oh a fry fell so he had to inform them that he has celiac disease which they ended up getting him new potatoes and no gravy. They did bring out his salad with croutons all over it. My husband ordered the bone in bison steak it was very small very stringy inside and not good. This was a celebratory birthday dinner for him so I was very disappointed that I spent that much money on food and it wasn’t even enjoyable. We will not be going back. This was our second time there the first time was mediocre at best. Very disappointed!
I have only 6-10 proper Nashville hot chicken restaurant experiences and this is as good or better than others I have had.
1st time eating here was with some buddies in the middle of the pandemic, this review is for the 2nd visit a year later.
The daughter and I went there recently while the wife had appointments at the university.
Loooong line (30+ minutes just to place an order) and they didn't seem to be short-staffed... but the front of house fella was certainly hustling. We waited outside with our iced tea and beers while our food was prepped. Deviled eggs were okay but expensive. I had a mixed 2x piece meal with greens and grits (everything was awesome). The hot chicken was a bit much for me, but that is no fault of the restaurant, instead my Scottish heritage. The daughter is gluten-free and she had a pulled chicken sandwich on a GF bun with fries. She says both were good and I can confirm the fries were tasty and crispy.
Overall, I can appreciate the chicken, very juicy, crispy and very tasty; but dang did it wound me later on. ;-)
Roost is considered a must-stop in all our future trips to/through Bozeman, but I will probably call in my order next time.
My absolute favorite breakfast spot in Bozeman, both when I lived there, and now when I visit! The menu can be adapted for my gluten allergy, and the staff is incredible. Can’t wait for my next visit!
Incredible pasta!! Nice bar environment with tasty dishes.
Not many gluten- free options, but waiter worked with us to make a corn tortilla quesadilla that turned out wonderfully!
Very very good steaks. My guess is they sous vide plus an amazing sear with cast-iron. One of the best cooked and tasting steaks I’ve had in Montana. They actually have some the best in house made vanilla ice cream I’ve had also. Overall a great place. One of the more spendy places but worth it for a special occasion. They also can cater very well to celiac and gluten free.
My first time here was for trivia night with friends. I had a great time! Atmosphere was great, we sat in a booth and it felt very private. The service was great, and very helpful when trying to choose a beverage. Bonus points because they offer gluten-free beverages! I unfortunately did not try the food, but it all looked delicious and my friends said it was.
We were in Bozeman for two days. This first visit we had.Krystina as our server. I can’t remember the name of the gal on the second day. We loved the bison burgers so much. They have gluten-free buns which are actually the most delicious gluten-free buns I’ve had in a very long time! It was fun, and they have outdoor seating for nice weather. Just a super place. So much so that we came back two days in a row!
Delicious hot egg sandwiches on a snowy Sunday! Yum! Staff was kind and thoughtful with one celiac in the group needing extra precautions for gluten free. I loved the herby egg, others the bacon and egg.
Also enjoyed the golden milk latte - perfect combo of sweet and spice.
I am gluten free and this place has abundant options for me. I also like their fries (I’m from Idaho so I have strong opinions). To top it all off, this place senses huckleberry milkshakes that are made with real hucks. They are incredible.
They have cards & a few games. Have Gluten Free beer cans from GhostFish out of Seattle. Manager told me, a celiac, I shouldn't eat there. Appreciated the knowledge and honesty!
This is a great place. The service was great. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The food was high quality and delicious. Thanks for all the gluten free dessert options. The creme brûlée was outstanding.
We went to South 9th Bistro to celebrate my birthday, from first impressions, to our exit, everything was amazing! It truly was the best culinary experience I have had in the western region of the lower 48 states to date. Fresh cut roses, beautiful french artwork and warm decór, truly made the ambiance!
I ordered the truffle mushroom risotto, and our guests order a ribeye, scallops, a lamb shank, and the halibut.
Having a gluten allergy, some restaurants are really difficult to work around regarding their menu (or even cross contamination) but it was so pleasing to see a flourless dessert, and to know that the preparation of the food was a priority, as well as the culinary preferences of their customers.
The staff was so friendly, the menu had a variety of different options and flavors, and I cannot wait to go back again!
Thank you, Hank, and the entire South 9th Bistro, for your exceptional service, care, and yummy cuisine!
The wings are very good, multiple flavors. Nice long tables for larger groups. We were quite literally the only table and the person who brought our food out refused to bring more napkins upon request, "no but I'll tell your server" which when she returned didn't know and we asked again. He was just walking around, staring out window, made an extra trip thru the dining room to gloat about his sword. Just needed napkins. Apps small size. Food taste 4/5. They do have gluten free options for pizza and bread, not made in house.
Great space for two families to have a double date. Kids played upstairs (ages 7-10), while adults got to visit and everyone loved the food (kids included!) also we had some gluten and soy allergies in our group and they were SUPER considerate and helpful.
I had the meatballs. My wife had the chicken dish with gluten free pasta. The pasta was a bit undercooked. Our server was not very attentive and a bit harsh when we opted for no dessert. We would go back for another shot. May have been an off night.
This is my go to place for consistently great Mexican food!!! I’ve been working through the menu, no failures, only too much food! But how can you have too much Mexican food?👍
I assume enchiladas, taco, and tamale plates are GLUTEN FREE? Not an issue for me but wife and friends have asked. Any feedback from owner would be great!
SUPPORT LOCAL SMALL BUSINESS!!!!
They have gluten free stuff that is 🔥 . So good!!! Plenty of seating with dim lighting and big windows for natural light. The staff is incredibly friendly and kind, the drinks and food are super yummy. It's the perfect place for boardgames, business, dates. Just all around super!
Paige was so great to us! Attentive, polite, and positive attitude! The food was wonderful, my mother had a great pasta special, my dad the Korean Rice Bowl, and the lady and I enjoyed a burger with a gluten free bun and a steak salad.
The best sushi I’ve had so far in the state of Montana. The fish was insanely fresh, and the restaurant has a really cool vibe inside. Also super accommodating to gluten-free needs. Will now be a must-stop when we are in Bozeman. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
