I would avoid this place if you have celiacs or a food allergy. There were a lot of reviews stating they have safe gluten free options. But I soon discovered that the kitchen has a lot of cross contact. I ordered a seafood dish with rice and explained that I have celiacs. The waitress said she would inform the kitchen and ensure my meal was gluten free. I was half way through my dish when I discovered that there was a piece of angle hair pasta inside my rice, like right in the center of it. The waitress then explained that the pasta and rice are prepared next to each other. They do not take cross contact serious in the kitchen and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone with a food allergy. I am now extremely ill from this mistake, I hope the restaurant learns so they can practice proper kitchen safety and not offer options that are high in cross contact with allergens.

The food is incredibly fresh and unique with colorful flavors. My kids are picky eaters, but they cleared thier plates! We ate until we were full, but the food is so wholesome, it was light on our stomachs. We felt the nutrition as we were eating the gluten free, vegan variety of foods. The owner is the sweetest woman! We could tell that she made her food with love. This was the best experience we have had in all of Mississippi! 10 stars if we could!

I love Blue Dog — I’ve NEVER had a bad experience with any of the food, coffee, drinks, or service! Always a joy to go. It’s a bit of a higher price point, but it’s completely worth it. They have vegan and gluten-free options (and other stuff that I can’t remember, but you get the picture — really inclusive options for other dietary needs). Even when they’re busy, the wait times are super reasonable. And the atmosphere is so cute!! The seats were comfy, and all the art and decorations are precious. Last time I went, we sat at the bar, and it was the same level of comfort! This place is just so detail-oriented and so perfect. And can we get a round of applause for Allen??? Absolutely stellar service!! He was so personable, so cheerful, and so funny. Made my day! The already amazing experience was even better because of him!! Everyone is always so smiley and so nice as soon as you step in the door! Amazing service all the way around. I wish I could do 6 stars :)

Came in from out of town and stopped in for lunch. Thirty minute wait but they offered fifty percent off of a shirt list of drinks while you wait which was nice, and the kids played Cornhole. I have celiac and we had a waiter in training so they brought over a server with more experience who was able to guide me with some recommendations for safe foods for me to eat. Ended up with tuna tacos and they were delightful. Husband had the fish platter and was quite pleased as well. Great experience. Would return.

My husband and I have been to Patio 44 several times. It is one of our favorite spots in downtown Gulfport. The food is always amazing. My favorite is the Blackened Chicken with Field peas. I follow a gluten free diet and it is hard to find a place that doesn't use flour to thicken everything. Patio 44 has several options for me. We usually sit at the bar to enjoy the beautiful view of the port. They make the best Old Fashioned and offer an amazing selection of bourbon and wine.
