Seth and Maddy are the GREATEST! The whole kitchen staff made sure my friend with a gluten allergy could eat everything we were served and even gave her some gluten free crostinis to have with our appetizer. The food is amazing. The vibes are immaculate. Will return, 100000000/10 you must go here!!
One of my favorite coffee shops I’ve ever been to. You don’t want to miss this if you are in Macon! This is a quality spot with a cozy atmosphere and delicious, organic, all natural options made in house. I was very impressed and highly recommend visiting.
Drinks: Absolutely amazing. We got the chocolate moose latte and liquid gold latte. Perfectly flavored and not too sweet. And the drinks aren’t 80% ice like Starbucks 🤣.
Food: Delicious. We got the bacon egg and cheese and sausage egg and cheese sandwiches, as well as the gluten and dairy free blueberry muffin.
Service: Very friendly and fast!
Special highlights: Syrups and pastries are made in house. All natural, organic, non-GMO ingredients. So many gluten and dairy free options. All pastries are gluten free.
Thank you, Taste and See, for this wonderful experience!!
Decided to got for my birthday because I heard they do gluten free fries and burger buns. We were greeted as we walked in and told how to order. The man who took our order was friendly and super knowledgeable about gluten allergies.
The burger was delicious as well as the bun. The fries are all cooked in a dedicated fryer. The fries were yummy and the street corn fries were amazing!!
The staff was friendly and the place was super clean.
First time here and they ask you immediately if it’s your first time here and automatically start helping you with the menu and then the owner came out to see if he could help and he was so nice. I had the Tenmit Gluten Free Chicken bowl and miso soup. Absolutely delicious with large portions. My husband had Chizu cheese with chicken and he loved it. Really enjoyed everything!!!Mine was the first photo.
Food was wonderful! There was a couple mistakes, mostly due to myself not reading, but the staff was quick to fix it and let us know about options. Everything was tasty and will definitely come back if ever in town again! If you’re gluten free, definitely recommend.
I was starving and found this place while passing through. I'm glad I did because the cauliflower crust and this pizza were delicious. Nothing beats an oven like this one and tastes.
The staff were super friendly and helpful, making sure my gluten allergy didn't have cross contamination.
They even had sherbet or ice cream fir dessert next to the bar area.
We sat outside in the sun with the umbrella.
The decor with the murals on the walls was a nice touch.
Would I recommend this restaurant? Absolutely
Would I return? Absolutely
My son loves Five Guys. He has developmental delays and is a childhood cancer survivor. He also has food allergies. He is learning to order and on his own. All the folks at this Five Guys are very helpful and understanding and work with him to get his order taken care of. (I do stand by in case I'm needed)
I'm thankful to have someplace my son can eat out at that is safely gluten-free for him.
Had high hopes as last few times they followed there allergy guidelines. Unfortunately today the girl on the line wasn't even aware gluten is in the flour tortillas and she felt it wqs better to argue with me instead of follow the process for allergies. Therefore I went all day wo food.
Receipt to prove it’s not a lie & I am from Illinois. I have no reason to try and ruin a local business in Georgia. I am informing the public especially people with sensitivities. This is what reviews are for. Sorry it is not what you want to hear. I called the store and left my number after your rude and unprofessional response here.
My husband and I stopped in here yesterday for the first time. We were in town and I was looking for a place with good coffee and gluten free desserts. We found this place within walking distance from where we were staying. Upon walking in, the place itself is very cute and decorated very nicely. The place was dead minus one other customer sitting on their laptop. Two employees were working at the time. The two girls saw us come inside but took at least 5 minutes or more to even approach us. It was a little ridiculous. I asked if they knew if their gluten free chocolate torte was made with any kind of oats since I not only am Celiac but also allergic to oats. They went in the back and looked for a while and came out and said they couldn’t figure it out by looking at the box so they would call the owner to find out. Now right there I should have left because it should have been obvious to me that this so called bakery uses premade boxed items. But of course I didn’t even think of that at the time since I was so excited to maybe be eating a gluten free dessert. It is rare to find places that offer them. While the one called the owner I asked the other girl about their coffee syrups and if they were also gluten free. She did not know if any of them were so I asked to see the bottle. On the bottle it did say gluten free, if that was what was in fact inside the bottle. I ordered a large (which mind you is so so small) iced coffee with the toffee nut syrup and cream. My husband ordered a chocolate shake as well. They said the owner told them it did not contain any oats or anything other than eggs and chocolate and sugar. The coffee itself was
Absolutely disgusting. It tasted burned and super strong and more like a cold brew than an iced coffee. I could not taste hardly any of the toffee nut and the creamer was almost non-existent. My husband’s shake was as thin as water. They put whipped cream on top after he told them twice to not put any on the top. When he went to scrape it off the top a quarter of this watered down ice cream shake spilled all over the table. It was supposed to be chocolate but it was white with a splash of chocolate syrup on the side. Basically they gave him a cup of milk. Our total for these 3 items were over $24. The coffee was $7 and the shake was $5.50. So the store bought gf torte had to be at least $8-10 for the slice.
After all that we still consumed what we purchased because we were not going to waste our money. After about 45 minutes after eating there, I started to feel extremely sick to my stomach, broke out in a celiac rash and become violently ill throwing up and everything. It is a full 24 hours later and I have not recovered from it. Somehow I was glutened or given something I specifically said I could not have. We are super careful where we go to eat and this kind of thing does not happen. I am beyond upset because now it will take me at least a week for my stomach to recover from this.
If you intend to carry gluten free items in your restaurant or bakery, you should not only take every single precaution necessary to make sure that the items are not cross contaminated with other items. Also you should educate your employees on these items and on what can happen if something is not done correctly. I
Would Not recommend this place to anyone who is gluten sensitive, Celiac, or has food allergies. I also would Not recommend
This place to anyone based on the terrible taste of their coffee, their aloof employees, their lack of the ability to clean the bathroom when the store is clearly dead.
Save yourself the money and go to a chain coffee shop/bakery because you will get the same factory made desserts and not from scratch items and better tasting coffee.
Becareful if you have a gluten allergy website very misleading with gluten-free, they only offer 1 thing gluten free that's a personal size pizza, nothing else.
Update: After getting my receipt, i was charged a fee for being gluten free smh no wre does it state that you're charged an additional fee or that they only have 1 item.
Visited first time today….. got half rack (6 ribs)
And a cole slaw and another side. The ribs were phenomenal!!!!!! So was the slaw. I’m gluten free so I love finding things like this. I only have one complaint and it will keep me from going back as often as I would like to….. the cost…
It was $16 and change for 6 ribs , a tiny slaw and other tiny side. In my world, that’s significant. Love your place but won’t be able to visit often. Thx
Food was delicious and they took special care to make my son’s food separately as he has celiac disease and has to be very careful with cross contamination with gluten. There were lots of gluten free options for our family. A must eat for Greek food in Macon!
I have loved FOJ for more than a decade, so when I was diagnosed with celiac disease 2 years ago, I was relieved that I could still cobble together a meal at my favorite restaurant. Unfortunately, my experiences have been horribly inconsistent— staff doesn't seem to agree on what's gluten free, the gluten free bun was replaced with a less-than-edible cauliflower sponge and their new gluten free menu markers are performative as there's no dedicated fryer. Recently, I found pasta in my fruit cup. It wasn't the first time this has happened, and luckily— this time—I noticed the pasta coil before eating the cup. When I pointed it out to the waiter and tried to explain that even small amounts of cross contamination can make someone with a gluten allergy horribly sick for days, he handled it with little grace. I think it's time to bow out here— a sad realization because it would be easy for FOJ to properly accommodate this dietary restriction. .
Delicious burritos & coffee! 100% recommend! Also love that they have gluten free options! We live in Savannah but if we lived here this would be our go to coffee shop!:)
First of all, this is my place of employment as both a bartender and server, so I'm not sure how much weight my review holds. I love working here and currently we have an excellent front of house staff. We welcome guests of all ages looking to catch a game or just have a casual meal with friends. There is honestly something on the menu for everybody, even gluten free and vegan options, there is nothing on the menu I wouldn't recommend. The people who come here and get to serve usually seem to have a great time and enjoy their food. We aim for satisfaction and are eager to please. Come see us next time you are looking for a burger, wings, or nachos, or simply a place to hang out for an hour and drink some craft beers!
If I could rate them any higher, I would.
Amazing family run resturant that accommodated 40 of us with speed and efficiency. Super friendly staff.
Food was fresh and so tasty.
Atmosphere is super cool!
We also had a couple people with allergies and gluten free and they were able to eat no problem.
Must try in Macon!!
The restaurant is unassuming from the outside, but the food is delicious and they are very accommodating for gluten free issues. The food was delicious, fresh, and well prepared. We are in town for several days and were so happy to have come upon this restaurant. I found it through Google reviews. I loved the chunky guacamole and the chips were perfect (not overly salty). My wife and I ordered Fajitas and they were great! If you are in the mood for Mexican, I highly recommend Guitarras.
