Best steak sandwich I’ve ever had, hands down. Tender juicy steak so it doesn’t fall apart after the first bite!! (that’s my pet peeve with most steak sangas you get, but this place did it right) Gluten free bread was really nice as well. Being a coeliac I was a bit limited as I couldn’t have anything that had been fried. However all the tacos were GF so I ordered them. They came stuffed to the max with super tasty fillings but they were difficult to eat, they weren’t soft enough to hold and wrap nor could I cut or break them as they had gone tough and soggy from the filling. It kinda spoilt the meal for me as I ended up eating the filling with a fork and not enjoying the taco. Can’t fault the service and atmosphere though

As someone with coeliac disease, dining out can be a challenge, but Ootong & Lincoln in South Fremantle turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The café has a warm, eclectic atmosphere with vintage décor and a welcoming vibe. The gluten-free options are clearly marked on the menu, and the staff were knowledgeable about cross-contamination risks. They reassured me that gluten-free meals were prepared separately, and they happily answered my questions. The serving was generous, and the fresh ingredients really stood out. Overall, Ootong & Lincoln is a great spot for a relaxed brunch, and I’d definitely return. Just be sure to check with the staff about food prep if you’re highly sensitive.
