Have been a customer for a while now. Great friendly service, and reasonable prices. Can highly recommend their plain steak pie, sourdough bread and gluten free florentine biscuits.
Stopped by the take away counter and asked about GF options. She immediately asked if it was for a coeliac and when I said yes she said the cafe or the restaurant were a safer bet just because of the flour that was everywhere in the takeaways prep area. Over at the cafe the guy confirmed all GF items have their own fryer and they take extra precautions for coeliacs as they get quite a few through. I ordered the sweet potato fries which came out as a generous serve, piping hot and super crispy. Really nice, so good in fact that my son who doesn't like sweet potato fries, kept snagging them and said I should tell everyoneđ too bad I live so far away, would love to try more!
Booked days in advance arrived on time and no waitress came to our table for 40 minutes.
Tried to get the attention of a waitress multiple times but they ignored my attempts and wouldn't even make eye contact. After 40 minutes someone finally came and we ordered. Another 20 minutes pass and they come and tell us their is not a single gluten free option left out back as they have run out.
An hour long wait to find this out is unacceptable. I understand things are difficult when busy, but this was excessive.
Thank you to the lady who actually came out to tell me what had happened, your sincerity was appreciated, but overall a negative experience.
Clean, comfortable well spaced out seating. Clear blinds kept the cold wind out. Service was good. Cocktail was delicious. Entrees tasted good but weâre way too big for one person (garlic bread and calamari). Nasi Goreng main was tasty but again way too much rice. Kung Pao looked and tasted good but was too messy to eat with your fingers (only way to peel the saucy prawns). Good to see a reasonable number of gluten-free options on the menu.
A lovely, fine dining restaurant with a friendly vibe and well trained staff. If you sit on the deck at high tide, you'll have a lovely view across the bay to the islands; at low tide you'll have a similar view but with a strip of mud in the foreground. During this visit, preparations were underway for a garden wedding, and I thought this would be a stunning location for both the ceremony and reception. The meals are delicious, and the desserts are tasty enough to visit just for coffee and cake. On this occasion, a coeliac member of our party appears to have been served something containing gluten, but this has not happened on any of our previous visits, and we are confident that it won't happen on our many future visits either.
Just back from The Bean and Leaf...soo disappointed. Just retired and looking for a regular local brekkie/coffee spot. I am dairy and gluten free. I ordered eggs on Gluten free toast. It came out with 2 little serves of butter. Yep! :(
We then both tasted our mugs of coffee. Huh?? was that coffee? question: do mugs usually have 2-3 shots of coffee? well not here. I couldn't taste it. I didn't bother to say anything....if a coffee shop can't get that right...then we'll vote with our feet. We won't be coming back. Big mistake Bean and Leaf!! - coulda had 2 more regular customers.
Heaps of seating. Nice vibe and lots of parking too. There were lots of treats, cakes, slices and cookies available including some gluten free options. Our 2 Coffees took a while to be made but served at the table. Two medium coffees and two kids milk shakes cost $22 which felt like a lot given the small size of the milk shakes. Coffee tasted butter and was super hot. :(

Met friends there for a weekend lunch. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal in the beautiful surroundings. There are two menus with a plethora of choice which includes seafood & a series of various gastronomic delights. My husband said it was the best Chicken Parma he'd ever had. Chips are not the usual beer battered rubbish but fresh & gluten free!!! The new highly professional experienced management are actively improving, upgrading & expanding the venue, the outcome of which has brought new decor, atmosphere & excellent service. Waiters & chefs are very accommodating, with a willingness & ability to fulfill the needs of patrons with food intolerances. Offers several areas in which to dine, whether you like balcony with a breeze & a view, a more intimate setting or for large groups. Plenty of parking next to the pub. Extremely pleasant, comfortable bay side dining with fresh, well presented, top notch delicious food. What a great day out!
