This is standard Ethiopian food, which we love. It's all well seasoned. Service is incredibly slow. We were there for a late lunch. Only 1 table was occupied when we got there and they got their food shortly after we arrived. There was one waitress who would sit in the back at the bar and would come out to bring you various orders, but never check on you. I got my water refreshed after we paid the check and were aboit to head out. So, please budget a lot of time for dining in. They start you off with complimentary bread, which was a bit hard. We ordered the vegetarian sampler 2 with fried croaker and another side of the croaker, which comes with the diced tomato salad (i dont recall the name of it). The vegetables were a good portion size and delicious. The fish were small, a tad longer than the length of my hand. The fish was ok (not well seasoned and a bit charred, which was surprising). I ordered gluten-free injera (teff flour) and was charged $4 for the injera on the plate and another $4 for the injera on the side. I love Ethiopian food, and we are pescatarians who don't typically eat tilapia, so finding Ethipoian restaurants, convenient to us, that meet those standards is tough. Ethiopic does, but it is on the pricier side, and service is very slow.

Good range of options including tacos, burritos, rice bowls and arapas. Vegiie, vegan and gluten free options available, but limited. Fried plantains available and very good. Lots of outdoor seating, kid and pet friendly. Very limited indoor seating from what I could tell, just a few bar stools.

I'm not from the DC area but stopped by with the family to get something to eat. The menus are poorly described. Having a family member with allergies, soy and gluten, their menus don't accurately describe what is in the dishes. Once we received the dishes, and found soy in our bowls even though they were NOT outlined in the menu...we brought it to the attention of the staff. We were told oh well, we already made the bowl and that's how we make it. He also explained that the cooking staff has no control over the menus and they just make the food as told. Choosing to not make a scene, we wanted to order something else but specifically asked if the purity bowl could be made without the edamame. The staff explained it doesn't matter because all the dishes were made in soy oil anyway (including the ones we already ate). Definitely a 0 star restaurant - poor presentation of the food, poor description of the menus, and horrible horrible customer service. In my 30 plus years as plant based, this was the worst restaurant experience to date. Buyer beware.
