First night in town from out of state. We placed our order at 7:02. Our pick up time showed 8:07. When we got there to pick up they told us 35 more minutes. We finally got our food at 8:50. Even then, they had to modify our order or told us to wait 7 more minutes for another part of the order to be done.
As far as the food goes… the pizza was good. They had a gluten free option and that was good as well. We also ordered chicken fettuccine Alfredo and we were given chicken and noodles? I’m not sure if that’s just there fettuccine or if this was a mistake.
My problem is not with waiting. My problem is not being given any kind of an accurate time and then doing nothing to make the situation right or compensate. I’ve seen the restaurant respond on here and say sorry for the same issue from other reviewer. I think it’s time to do better.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Gulf restaurant and it was a truly enjoyable experience! The vibe was incredible, creating an inviting space for a laid-back outing. A major highlight is their policy of welcoming dogs, allowing pet owners to bring their beloved companions.
The staff members were not only friendly but also attentive, adding to the overall warmth of the place. I was particularly impressed by their gluten-free options, which were both varied and well-thought-out. It’s evident that the chef takes dietary restrictions seriously, ensuring that everyone can dine safely.
I must mention the mojito I ordered—it was simply fantastic! Refreshing and expertly crafted. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone in search of a wonderful meal in a friendly atmosphere. I look forward to my next visit!
This place is the best. In addition to the great food, service, and atmosphere, they also have gluten-free pizza, gluten-free beer, and patio seating for our big yellow lab.
Our server, Katie, was awesome and the food was great. I am allergic to gluten and she made sure my food was safe. And the gluten free brownie was delicious.
El barrio is one of Birminghams restaurants. You can expect to wait on friday and saturday evenings due to the high demand for delicious food at a reasonable price. The servers work harmoniously during busy times and have a streamlined process so that you have the best dining experience. They are gracious about accommodating dietary needs and restrictions which is so welcome due to the Birmingham food scene largely lacking that. The only things that could make them better is gluten free churros on the menu.
Try the queso!
Terrible! After ordering a gluten free pizza (I have celiac disease) we waited almost an hour and was finally told they were out of gluten free crust. If we were told this when we ordered we could have gone somewhere else. We were traveling on I85 when we detoured to Bibb Street BECAUSE they advertised gluten free.
Suga was AMAZING! I have late stage Celiac and she was knowledgeable about the disease. Because of her I was able to have French fries for the first time in 3 years and a wonderful burger! Thank you Suga!!!!
This isn’t entirely The Hound’s fault but, I informed the waiter that I have a gluten intolerance and I ordered a burger on gluten free bread with tater tots. She didn’t inform me that the tater tots weren’t gluten free, I was sick for the next two days because of this. They were good but, I feel like she should’ve let me know that.
My server Dani was absolutely amazing! So kind and so helpful throughout the night. Always willing to get what ever I needed! And the food was amazing, I recommended bowls and the gluten free pazookie. A great night

Thankful that they offer dietary options, although the staff could be better trained. Was told I could have the Brussel sprouts (coated in soy sauce - "because it was soy based" - I have celiac disease). After spending $32 for 10" rectangular pizza (3 toppings) that was so-so, I'm not keen on returning.
Great, as always. Really enjoyed their gluten-free pizza. Didn't have a reaction at all, not even a little, which is a first, even for gluten-free pizza.
Always fantastic. Always great food. Service is excellent. I don't think I have ever had a bad experience at Boudreaux! I love all the gluten-free options for me!
I have newly been diagnosed with Celiac and had low expectations that I could successfully find gluten-free items I could safely eat. I was in Mobile, hungry, and the restaurant appealed to me, so I gave it a chance.
Moe's has a special allergy menu informing customers which items on the menu are egg free and which are dairy free and which are gluten-free.
I had a lovely meal and suffered no consequences from eating in the restaurant. That is a win in my book.
Food arrived to table cold and 2 people had to wait several more minutes to receive their meal so food was even colder by then. Kids options are sad. So paid 18.99 for a kids cheese pizza. Ouch! The calzone had so much ricotta cheese you couldn't taste anything else and my husband was sick from eating it. The positive were the gluten free crust and dairy free cheese actually tasted like the real thing but the cheese was super chintzy. Would have enjoyed if it was hot. Ordered 8 meals and no one was really happy. Server was also fairly snippy.
Had a great experience ordering gluten free. Had a gluten free menu with lots of options. Server talked me through the process of how they cook it gluten free.
My wife and I must eat gluten-free. We heard from someone that Red Robin had gluten-free buns, so we went by to see. Not only do they have GF burgers but also a host of other dishes. Destiny was our server, and she was great. She was very knowledgeable about the GF items. I had a Monster Burger, and Barbara had a RR Cheese Burger. We both had fries. All was well cooked and fresh. We will return to try some more GF dishes.
I want to thank the staff there especially Ms. Riley , Phillip and Chris for thier assistance in getting my gluten free experience thier all thanks 😊 from the bottom of my heart !!! Thank you Megan !!!! 😊
We love Slice! Our favorite local pizza and beer joint. We’ve never had a pizza that disappointed. I will say, even my gluten-loving husband prefers their GF pizza crust to the regular one! (I do too). White Shadow and Hot Mama are our favorite flavors. Their salads are also amazing! (And generous which we appreciate). Got the cheesecake once and it did NOT disappoint. The wings are good but expensive - you can find more wings for less elsewhere. Can’t beat the $5 wine and draft beer happy hour though!
Great option for those that are gluten-free and on a budget. Build-your own options are great, as well as the pre-made available items. Parking is tough, but there are options around the back. Not a great place for parties over 6 or 8.
Amazing customer service . I have celiac disease and the fact that the kitchen takes extra precaution to make sure there is no cross contamination is amazing . Ordered wings not even thinking about cross contamination and the waitress actually told me and warned me of cross contamination. So of course I didn't eat them and just ordered a different type of wings that were gluten free. I watched the girl behind the counter change her gloves multiple times to be cautious with what she was touching. Just amazing experience . The gluten free pizza is amazing and delicious you can't even tell the difference between regular and gluten free . I was so happy to find a place that was cautious and celiac friendly.
We had a party of 6 it was mine and my daughters birthday.our waitress was amazing our food was perfect. I have Celiac's and many many food allergies.this was the first time in 7 years eat at a restaurant and I did not get sick when we left to go home. I didnt see the inside of the kitchen.I tell you it has to be one of the cleanest kittens in dothan .I'm severely allergic to iodine and seafood.usually cross contamination does happen because the other restaurant do not clean thiers kitchens that well. So I get sick even in ordering gluten free.I highly recommend this restaurant.we all had filet mignon it was cooked to perfection.
Only rated a four because of only having the one pizza crust and salads for gluten allergy. Wish they had naked wings instead of breaded because they are really good. Great staff.
Ashley was amazing!!!! FANTASTIC SERVICE.. food and atmosphere! Worked the area for 6 years and never came in. Glad I did!!
AND.. GREAT Gluten-free options! Wagyu burger with bacon and Gluten-free bun....HOLY crap good!!
First let me say, Sarah C. was one of the best servers I have ever had in Mobile, Alabama. She was knowledgeable, kind, and helpful! As someone with Severe Celiac, I don't often feel safe eating out, but she reassured me and made sure my food was cooked properly and I did not get sick!! (which is a HUGE win for me!) Sarah was incredibly personable and treated me with kindness and respect. In future visits, I will be asking to sit in her section because she took such great care of me. It was so reassuring to know that she has people in her life with celiac, which just boosted my confidence in her abilities and knowledge!
Fun, eclectic environment. Good Guac & queso. Pineapple/Mandarin slaw was a tasty twist. Non-dairy cilantro yogurt was a nice change since I can’t usually eat sauces like this. If you are gluten free, beware of the blackened salmon; it has some type of breading and is deep fried. It tasted really good, but not gluten friendly.
I rarely share reviews of places unless it’s exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. In this case, it was bad. It was around 9:30 on a Sunday night so maybe that would be a reason? Servers were nice, the appetizers were half off and they were good, but the part that churned my stomach was the stack of plates they brought out with the appetizers. The whole stack had standing water and small particles of food on every single one of them! We just had to eat with paper towels.
The actual meals was not good. My patty melt was dry and just unimpressive, I didn’t even eat it all. My husband’s heat wave burger had burnt bacon and he said it just was terrible overall. Our gluten free friend had the gluten free bun burger and it came out with burnt bacon also and on sliced bread? They didn’t even say anything about it until they heard her comment about it and they just said yeah, we are out of the buns and walked off.
For $150+ for 2 small families, we got dirty dishes and just burnt, tasteless food. I won’t be back unless it’s a have to situation.
Plus side is they have a gluten free menu! I thought that was good!
Great atmosphere and amazing food!
They have delicious pizzas, wings, calzones, and salads. They even have gluten-free options available.
My top pizza choices are"the old faithful" and "the sink."
You can also build your own, and they'll fix it anyway you wish.
Don't forget to ask about the pizza of the month!
