It was my first time at Mantra. Came here for a date night and hadn’t heard of this place. We tried the yucca fries, Brussel sprouts, Buffalo jack Flatbread, and Oyster Mushroom Marsala. Everything was deliciousss. I also ordered a Cheesecake which was also yummy and the Korean BBQ Tacos to go. I ordered a Serenity tea which was good. The atmosphere and the service is great. My date who is not vegan had the Oyster Mushroom Marsala and he enjoyed it. I love the fact that it’s gluten free. Will definitely come back to eat here as there are more things I want to try.
Happy hour.
We arrived in time for happy hour. The house margarita was great.
The happy hour food menu was valued priced.
We started with the happy hour guacamole. Excellent flavor. The salsa is excellent.
I tried the beef taco, fish taco and smoked chicken skewers.
Everything was very good.excellent place for gluten free.
Kito was our server and he was knowledgeable, patient and kind. He checked on all questions we had about gluten as my husband has celiac and gluten can ruin a night out. The food was spectacular. The environment was fabulous. Just an overall great dinner. We will be back. Thanks Kito.
We found this little gem while stopping through Houston as we were hunting for gluten free places to eat. I’m so glad we did. Our server Brooke helped us navigate all the sides that were gluten free and after our meal recommended the flan which we enjoyed even we were sooooo stuffed. Everything was absolutely great and atmosphere was amazing. I highly recommend a visit. Say hi to brook.
This was a nice dinner. We had great service and Gluten-free options. Portions were small, but we did not miss the extra. salsas were rich and fresh, which is rare to find in Houston. Try this place out, you might find layers of flavor on your regular dishes that you will certainly miss in other places.
Food, service and atmosphere were all just okay. Nothing was extraordinary. I was told that the quesadilla and chimichanga couldn’t be made gluten-free. I ended up ordering the las enchiladas and chile con queso. If I was already in the area, I’d stop by and try different versions of the gf corn taco but I definitely would not drive back solely to eat at this restaurant.
THE BEST Texmex I have ever had! The chicken fajitas were out of this world. They have small gluten free menu but the options on it all sound good. They have separate gluten free chips (be sure to request them right as you sit down to avoid wasting the non-gf chips).
The make their own tortilla shells in house! (NOT gluten free) but my husband said they were delicious.
If you’re getting a margarita I cannot recommend the watermelon margarita enough! Holy cow, definitely one of the best margaritas we have ever had!
Staff was all very friendly as well.
Excellent menu - wide variety of Tex-Mex AND Mexican food - extensive vegetarian menu, gluten-free menu... great margaritas! Juan, our server, was wonderful. He was attentive but not overbearing. The salsa lady was very kind as well. I did not catch her name. We will definitely be back!
Came here to try something new based one a single review that there were TONS of Gluten Free Options. About a 10-15 minute wait as it’s a small place. But OMG! I cannot wait to try to food. The Salsa Alone is DELICIOUS, and I’m not usually a big salsa fan. Menu is chock full of GF Tags…even DESSERT! Sopapillas, Flan & Tres Leches are all Gluten Free? Say What?
Brunch at Ojo de Agua– ★★★★☆ (4/5)
I had the pleasure of brunching at Ojo de Agua this weekend, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The ambiance struck a perfect balance between casual and cozy, with soft lighting and a welcoming vibe. The staff was attentive but not overwhelming, and our table was ready right on time.
Food: The menu offered a great mix of classic brunch items with some unique twists. I went for the Avocado Trufa Toast– a delicious blend of gluten-free bread, avocado spread, trufle oil, sesame seeds, cherry tomatoes and ribeye. The Acai bowl was a standout, with fresh fruits and peanutbutter . My dining companion tried the Guava pancakes and Chilaquiles.
The only slight downside was that the Chilaquiles tortillas are not done in house, instead store bought chips are used for this dish which makes the dish be dry.
Drinks: Refills for regular coffee are not free, I can understand the specialty coffee drinks would require additional charge but not for a regular cup of coffee.
Overall Experience: Brunch at Ojo de Agua was a hit, with flavorful dishes, great service, and a relaxed atmosphere. It’s definitely a spot I’d recommend for a weekend outing, though maybe avoid it if you're in a rush, as it can get busy during peak hours.
Would I return? Yes.
This has been my go to for the last two years. Absolutely love everything they make. They have something for everyone, if you’re vegan/gluten free/ pescatarian they have great options! Their shrimp bowl is perfection
Awesome food and great service! Gluten-free optio s across the menu! We will definitely be back.
Ask for Miguel as he is the best waiter ever! We followed him here from another restaurant is how good he is. Tell him Brad and Sylvia sent you. Not that we get anything out of it. Just would love for him to know that people love his service!
Thanks for bringing us to this new and fantastic restaurant Miguel!
Took my sister here for her birthday brunch and it was amazing!!! Drinks food service everything!!! 10 out of 10 would recommend! They also offer gluten free options marked on the menu! I will most definitely be back!
Delicious tacos, you can see what I tried below, I ordered them by most favourite to least. Also tried Queso blanco, nice gluten free alternative.
17 Mexi-Cali Shrimp
12 Slow-Roasted Angus Brisket
2 Rotisserie Chicken
You order inside and they buzz you when your order is ready.
Delicious food. Loved the Thai chicken Taco. Taco Tuesday is a great deal, some tacos are 2 and 3 dollars when they are normally 4 and up.
They also could do some tacos gluten free, you just have to ask. (Does not include Thai chicken, but they had some awesome options). My mother with celiac was taken care of here and after eating here twice she did not react so I would say this place is safe for people with celiac just ask about menu items before hand.
The food at Ambriza is pretty good, and my family really liked it. If you have celiac, like me, however, finding something safe to eat is very tricky. Although the menu labels many things as “gluten free,” most of these items are NOT celiac safe because fried items go into a shared fryer and their homemade corn tortillas are made on the same equipment as the flour tortillas. Not even the tortilla chips are safe, unfortunately. I was very lucky to get a very well informed waitress who was able point out the only safe things on the menu: the crema poblana and caldo azteca soups and the grilled chipotle chicken (although the yuca fries will need to be substituted with something else like rice and beans due to CC). Maybe bring your own tortillas if you want more options.
We had one of the best servers that I've had in all of my dining experiences. Bertha was very attentive and friendly. She brought new glasses of water when it was near empty and without us asking. Offered more fresh corn tortillas and confirmed gluten-free corn chips. Yummy food was delivered with a smile, too. 5 stars for Bertha⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
One of a kind spot in Houston. So much mead. So many burgers. But also food for everyone: vegans, gluten-free, no problem! Parking can be tough, but totally worth it.
This was a really special meal, excellent flavours, service and ambience. Anita was particularly careful re gluten free and some dishes were cooked specially to be gf.
I'm conflicted with the 3 stars, but we made clear we had a dairy and gluten allergy person. And we worked hard with the waiter to figure out exactly what our person could eat. However, twice, we had to send the food back because they put dairy products in/on it. We finally switched to something different.
I'm not impressed that the wait staff didn't know enough about the menu items to not know which menu item has the chicken and cheese already mixed or to remind the chef don't put the dairy based sauce on the food.
The food was good. I enjoyed it. And the atmosphere was lovely. The staff were kind and polite and so helpful, they didnt hesitate to switch items for us, but seriously. Know your menu better and know what has dairy in it, please. If we hadn't caught the issue with the 2nd plate before the first bite, we'd have 1 party member having a VERY bad night.

Beware: portions are HUGE! Food is delicious -- and there are several gluten-free options available for those of us with celiac. We had a fantastic server -- very attentive, knowledgeable, friendly. I'd definitely eat here again!
Very very good food. Offers a variety of gluten free options. Most items are actually made with corn instead of flour. Owner is very helpful and knowledgeable.
Recently found out I have a gluten allergy, and have been stressed trying to eat out safely: Zyneil was incredibly helpful, showing me a picture of various ingredients, and helping me to narrow down my options to a Salsa Rancho Shrimp Corn Taco. Great attitude and customer service. So grateful for this right now.
This place is a hidden gem. Located next to Battlefield Houston, the laser tag place, this strip center tends to be overlooked. Let me tell you, DON’T sleep on Soto’s Cantina. The food was top notch. Multiple steps above your go-to Mexican restaurant. It feels upscale but still comfort food - like all good Mexican food is. I ordered the spinach and mushroom quesadilla because the photo looked delicious. I’m not one to skip out on fajitas at a Mexican restaurant but this did not disappoint. I’m already itching to go back to order another round. The drinks looks delicious and they have Quinoa dishes for those that struggle with gluten. Overall great experience. Make sure to check them out!
We ate at Gringos Tex-Mex last night between Almeda-Genoa & Fuqua. They do have a gluten-free menu with loads of options. These are the Fish/Shrimp tacos. You can request either or & ask first one of each. We had their large Queso & chips- Delish! My husband is a Celiac & had no issues. We've eaten here, before & enjoyed it then. My brother & sister's families rave about it! The frozen Strawberry margarita was yummy with right amount tequila for the hard working day we had. The servers are nice, timely, & knowledgeable. Drew served us last night. Also, on Instagram#gluten-free & Tex-Mex
When you want finish a 30 Day Detox Challenge and the only thing that gets you thru the last week is dreaming of pizza. Not that crusty, greazy, cardboard peperoni generic delivery but the kind that speaks to you. I had heard tales of Distrcit 7's new pizza spot but yet to make the adventure. And after the diet, the bar may have been set too high but they delivered.
And yes, I went by myself to eat an entire pie. I took half home to share with the bf. And then ate it before he got home from work -- Sorry, I'm not Sorry. IT WAS 30 DAYS OF NO DAIRY, GLUTEN OR SUGAR ... I give myself credit for not rolling around on the pizza (yes, it did smell that good).
The store front is bland but works. Parking was easy. The guys taking the order were more than nice and accomodating and funny. And have a genuine love of pizza. And food. And beer. I had the bison buffalo pie and it was everything that a dreamy pizza should be. This isn't your "girl next door" pizza - this is the Lexus of pizzas. I mean, I'm sure their pepperoni or cheese pizza are divine but I come here for things like aioli and blue cheese. Veal is next on my hit list.
This pizza geek is sold. Maybe even a little starry-eyed. I rate this over Pink's and Star's. But I think both are overrated. I know, I know ... shoot me and take away my Houston Inner-Looper card.
(I will say, it is just as over-priced as District 7 Grill though. And also you probably shouldnt plan on eating an entire pie - unless, it is day 31 of a 30 day cleanse.)
My Son Wanted to Treat Me to Dinner Last Night and with Chili's 3 for $10 Offer it was an easy decision that I knew wouldn't break the bank for him. Britney our waitress was Amazing! She was very attentive and in such a good mood. We did not wait for or even have to ask for a drink refill and when you are feeding a 17 year old track runner; you know they can Eat and Drink!! Download the Chili's App and you'll get Bouns Rewards like Free Appetizers and Kids meals! This is for sure your run of the mill basic food fare, but for Myself being Gluten Free, I have an array of options here to enjoy a quick bite when needed. We had a 5 star experience that night!
Carnitas with corn tortillas were excellent and gluten free! Server was very knowledgeable about gluten and took precautions! No gluten free menu but they are able to provide separate nutritional menu for gluten free options!

The staff is friendly. They accommodate gluten allergies. Their green sauce is amazing! The cheese they use is authentic! Everything here is delicious. Only issue is parking, but hey that's what happens when you live in the city.
Great experience. We chose it at random, because we'd never been. They were very attentive and the staff made sure we never ran out of drinks, chips, or salsas. When I mentioned my gluten allergy, a very nice gentleman that had worked in the kitchen for over 30 years (!) came out and went through the options and ingredients. He was so friendly and helpful! The food was delicious, the price was fair, and service excellent! Definitely going back
