Really delicious food in a great setting and atmosphere! I’m coeliac and they were great for communicating with me what dishes were gluten free. Menu clearly labelled with gluten free options and everything I had was incredible! So good we came back a second time to try more of the menu!
Gorgeous restaurant and amazing food! Ate here on my birthday while visiting Playa del Carmen and was so magical and delicious! I have celiac (gluten allergy) and the team was incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable on allergies - Highly recommend the tuna steak - it was so delicious! And the restaurant is actually built around a cenote - super cool experience and some of the best food I ate in Mexico!
I have celiac (strictly gluten-free), and I'm vegetarian. I came here because of multiple reviews that were positive for those with celiac disease, and the restaurant overall had good reviews in general. Unfortunately, I had a pretty poor experience. As vegetarian/gluten-free, the waiter recommended a salad or a warm cauliflower dish in a mole sauce. There was some complimentary pickled vegetables with various sauces and fried tortillas/chips that came out, and the waiter assured me the chips were also gluten-free. I began to eat them, and then they came rushing back later to notify me the chips/fried tortillas were in fact NOT gluten-free. At that point, the dinner was mostly ruined. I ate my main course cauliflower dish which was pretty good, though left the restaurant quickly afterwards. Unfortunately, I did get sick soon afterwards from the food, so I can't give a positive review of the restaurant. The restaurant also just handled it by having the waiter apologize, and then still got charged full price for all the items, and also pressured into giving a tip despite all this. Anyway, definitely not going again.
Celiac friendly & delicious. Everyone loves their dishes. I had the shrimp tacos and I’d definitely go there again. The server was super helpful, friendly & knowledgeable.
We were first looked after by Antonio and then at shift change we had Marcial. Both were so warm and took the time helping with the menu and then explaining each dish in detail. My partner has two allergies (celiac and peanuts) and they catered to both. I am also vegetarian and had plenty of options. Loved each dish and were even surprised with a dessert for our anniversary!

Most of the things on the menu are gluten free. Lots of options to choose from. Portions are quite generous and the taste is great. They even provide coffee refills on the house.
So far, my favorite place on the island. Definetly recommend.

Tacos Gardenias has the best tasting, most authentic tacos that I have ever eaten in my life. Our host, Bravo, is our favorite person we have met this trip. My partner has celiac disease so finding food that doesn't have wheat/gluten or cross contamination on this trip to Cabos has been quite the challenge. Bravo assured us that there were separated areas where they prepared things with gluten, and another area for things without gluten. They also serve breakfast in the morning! I have to mention the guacamole, it was the freshest best guacamole I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. My partner ate everything and felt great afterwards, as well as the rest of us on this trip; we will probably make another trip to this restaurant before going back home. I can't speak highly enough of Tacos Gardenias, it was the highlight of our trip to Cabo San Lucas and the marina.
BEST TACOS EVER!!! I had the la gringo taco which was AMAZING!! I also had the cheese crust pastor good but not as amazing as the above. My husband had the ribeye tacos and he said these were the best he's ever had. My kids and in laws enjoyed theirs too. The reason I took 1 star away is because after my MIL said she could not eat gluten they gave her a flour shell. Because of this she was not feeling well last night. Other then that everything was great. For desert we had the churros which were good but not as delicious as the corn cake!!! That desert is probably one of the best I've ever had and I own a bakery!!
This restaurant is overrated, the food is not bad but there are better restaurants.
A must of the place is the manteles short rib, the best in the place, and the rib eye with mashed potatoes. For appetizers we ordered a beef tongue tea and barbecue tacos, these appetizers are recommended to be skipped or instead look for another appetizer option. For dessert I recommend the coconut pineapple and the flan, the one that tasted the most was the coconut, it was exquisite, another thing to be grateful for is that it is gluten free and the flan was good but I think there are better desserts.
In summary, the best of the night was the short rib, the rib eye and the coconut pineapple.
Overall score I would say 4.0
My son said that the tacos were the best he'd ever had.
The food was amazing, and you can't beat the view.
We have some picky eaters in our family and my wife can't have gluten because she is celiac. We all loved what we ordered and my wife felt safe eating there because of their clearly marked menu for gluten allergy.
I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area.
We love ziggys!!! We stayed at a nearby hotel and came here for breakfast one day, and ended up coming back every day for the rest of our trip. The restaurant on the beach is amazing and the staff is incredibly nice. We had 3 celiac and 1 nut allergy in our group, and they were able to accommodate us so easily with no issues. All the food was so good!! Some highlights were the pork belly enchiladas, tuna tacos and egg tacos. Thank you to the staff for creating such a beautiful and friendly atmosphere, we will definitely be back!

I visited yesterday, Sunday, June 22nd, I was only going for cake because of the
Bad experience I had at The Buttery, but we ended up ordering 4 tuna tostadas, which are delicious. I mean, they're a staple, but the chipotle sauce with the tuna and the good consistency of the tostadas. And when you add the habanero onions, the cake is delicious. Needless to say, for me, who can't eat gluten, it's delicious.
I ordered an Americano coffee, I didn't like it at all. It was too strong, so I left it.
The cayo hacha tostadas were delicious. I recommend them, but if you can, skip them. Or if you want to try the cayo hacha prepared this way, it's not bad, but for $239 pesos for 1 piece, it's better to have another tuna tostadas and some lemon water with chia seeds. Delicious, that's all I tried. This time I'll go back for the red snapper.
I found this place on the Find me Gluten Free app and it is a paradise for celiacs.
They use only corn flour and everything is suitable (with the exception of a meat that has black sauce).
One of the few times I have been able to eat in a traditional, non-touristy place, without worrying.
Awesome atmosphere and very good food. I have celiac disease and heard this was a good option for gluten free—our waiter kind of seemed to get it but then brought out my dessert (mango sorbet) on a bed of cookie crumbles, after confirming with me that this would be the one safe dessert option…so can’t say that they really get it as well as other restaurants in the area. Try at your own risk.
Wow, wow, wow! Rarely have I had such good service! Sangria was extremely good (tip: order the 1/2 liter straight away, it's cheaper 😉). Pizza bread was amazing too! Ravioli too! Gluten-free pasta is also served. Every heart beats faster 🙏🏼
Delicious and quality sopes! They are also gluten-free. I loved the shrimp mole - came back for it multiple times during my week in San Pancho. The owner is very kind and has very high standards. This is a wonderful tucked away restaurant with a cute patio - highly recommend!

Great service and amazing food! Freddy and Mario made sure we had a lovely evening, would definitely recommend! Particularly good for gluten free
Exceptional. The owner attended to us with great closeness and detail. The food was truly exceptional, we had cochito and the asado coleto, and it was one of the best meals on our trip to Mexico. To start with, some very delicious tamales too.
Very attentive to my gluten intolerance.
The cactus tartar was really interesting. Kind of on the sour side but refreshing. I think Antolina offers good dishes, drinks, service, and cozy atmosphere. Also, they do take note of people who need gluten free options.
What a spot in bacalar. Was reccomended by numerous people before.
Loads of taco filling options.
Good for gluten free and veggies!
The burritos are quite greasy I’d recommend the tacos more.
Great margaritas as well
We had a shrimp casserole dish that was so flavorful, along with a gluten-free vegan cake that had just the right amount of sweetness. The portion sizes were great too. We'll definitely be coming back

Not in the hotel but went for the food. Definitely recommend if you are in Bacalar to try out the Tacos. Brenda was very attentive to my girlfriend's gluten free needs. All tacos were 100% made of corn and they were delicious and affordable!

Great food, friendly staff, with several English speaking servers, highly recommend the cheese pastor tacos. Had good luck with gluten free options for my celiac GF. Highly recommend!
Very good service, excellent prices. The passion fruit lemonade is delicious. Highly recommended!!! And many gluten-free options. Dessert too, and very delicious. Don't stop coming if you pass through Isla Mujeres.

Dined on Oct 14, 2024 based on strong reviews about their ability to accommodate allergies, but unfortunately left feeling that my dietary restrictions were not taken seriously.
Upon arrival, the hostess asked if anyone in our party had allergies. I informed her that I have Celiac disease and a tree nut/peanut allergy. She relayed this to our server upon seating us. I also provided the server with printed allergy cards (in both English and Spanish), which he took a photo of for future reference. However, he did not read them at that time.
As we began ordering, I found myself needing to ask detailed questions about each dish to determine whether it was safe, as I wasn’t confident the server fully understood the severity or specifics of my allergies. For instance, I asked about the blackened octopus dish, which included tempura. I inquired if it was made with rice or wheat flour—he confirmed it was wheat, and simply told me to order something else. I would have appreciated more proactive guidance through the menu to identify safe options rather than needing to question each item myself.
I also specifically asked him to review the Spanish side of my allergy cards, as I suspected some of the details were being lost in translation. However, he appeared to skim only the beginning before returning the cards.
We ordered: pulled duck tostadas, molcajeteada with fresh (non-fried) corn tortillas, the seasonal chef’s tamal, pork ribs, al pastor tacos, and wagyu skirt tacos.
At one point, another server brought a complimentary sope with beans, avocado sauce, and chilies. I had to ask whether it was safe for me to eat (it was).
Later, during the tableside preparation of molcajeteada salsa, our server asked if the “deep-fried” peppers used were safe for me. I once again raised concerns about the fryer and potential cross-contact. He confirmed it was not safe and quickly stopped the other server from proceeding.
After the molcajeteada, there was a noticeable lull in service. Eventually, our server returned with a dessert menu, despite us still waiting on several dishes we had ordered. When we inquired, he checked the system and said, “No, it’s not working,” without further explanation.
At that point, we requested the bill and left.
Unfortunately, I did not feel safe dining here. While there was some initial acknowledgment of my allergies, the follow-through and attentiveness throughout the meal were lacking, leaving me uneasy and disappointed.
Imagine yourself on a Friday night, and you decide to try and get into one of the top 50 bars in the world around 6PM. It's dead. You're excited. You order a cocktail, and it's just everything you hoped for from a renowned bar. You move over to the appetizers, ceviche, tartar, and enjoy mouth watering goodness in every bite. You pause for a moment and converse, hard to focus because of the euphoric symphony of flavors that have run through your tongue these past several minutes. You eye the main course as it gets served your way, being carried like the delicious burger you anticipate it to be. The bacon burger with BBQ sauce is in front of you, you bite, and the bread crumbles. There was not a sphere of fluffiness that you would expect from your burger bun. You eat it in disappointment, but the meal isn't over. Round 3 appears, another highly anticipated meal to enjoy, and the corn cake you get is again, simply put, not moist. The worst version of a baked good. But not all was lost; the gluten-free options were exceptional, so 4 ya tu sabes.

Pujol, honestly, fantastic experience, but I'm retracting 1 star for a total of 4 because of 2 reasons.
1. The famous mole which is older than most children I know was not all that great. The newer fresh mole was better but still not the best mole I've had.
2. The cost. For the alcohol pairing with the multiple course menu for two, we paid a hefty note of $600 USD, including tip.
For similar experiences and charges at high-end restaurants, I've paid a little more than half that, which baffled me because eating in Mexico is fairly inexpensive.
That being said, excellent staff, mostly delicious food, and the gluten-free experience was as easy as it gets.
Had to he best experience here. My girlfriend has celiac and they were very helpful in finding the right food for her. Friendly staff, tasty and large portion. Highly recommend.
My favorite tacos in the world! All made from blue corn so totally fine for gluten free people like me.
Order the chicken tinga and chuleta. Also the pan de elote - sweet cornbread. My friend is obsessed with the caramel-y sauce that comes with it on the side (I find it too sweet with it).
My vegan friend said the mole taco was the best taco she’s ever had in her life, period.
The hibiscus drink is a tad too sugary for me but that’s the case everywhere on the island so I just dilute it a bit.
They’re super nice here and food comes out fast! I came here three times in four days the last time I was in Cozumel.
Also if you do take out, the food is actually shockingly still pretty hot as they wrap it up really well, which I appreciate.
Wow what a place. Food was delicious, staff very attentive (and speak very good English). A huge bonus is that the owner is coeliac/celiac and gluten free items are labelled on the menu, of which most are! Great to feel safe eating authentic food.
Situated in a lively market, this is not one to miss.
We had reservations and seated immediately. The restaurant was full on a Saturday. Fabian was our waiter and he was wonderful. We were seated at the balcony edge. It is a bit chilly and people take photos there to look over the plaza but we did not care
The food here was the best we have had and great value.
We started with wine all from Mexico. Choices limited however we were happy with our choices. Next we had the salad with bacon and spiced nuts. Tacos we had the fish and octopus. Fish was better. Next steak and fish. The steak was perfectly cooked and the mustard sauce was a perfect compliment. The fish was very good but the steak was better. Lastly we had a slight communication lapse where I got the almond ice cream and cream cone and my daughter got the sorbet. She is gluten free and we thought we ordered two sorbets but it was fine We just did nit share that item. They also brought gluten free crackers instead of bread. Very accommodating.
The views were beautiful at sunset the food was delicious the service great. I would definitely recommend
