I love this place it really is mostly a college Hangout. It's also good for families if you can find a time when it's not packed with college kids. The bar is always too tightly packed. When the upstairs section is open I prefer to sit up there. I generally like anything I've had their. And they make really good gluten-free pizza
I have been a loyal customer of Nancy Chang’s for years, but today’s experience on Christmas Day was beyond disappointing. They were offering a buffet, but there were no sugar-free or gluten-free options, which meant my diabetic grandfather and gluten-free father couldn’t safely eat from the buffet. While we were fine with them ordering from the regular menu, the manager refused to let the rest of us (a group of seven) get the buffet if even one person ordered separately. This lack of flexibility and accommodation was shocking.
The manager’s attitude made everything worse. She was incredibly rude, dismissive, and even made inappropriate comments about my grandfather after we explained he has Alzheimer’s. She showed no empathy and instead complained about being stuck at work. Her behavior was unprofessional and ruined what should have been a special holiday experience for our family.
We felt we had no choice but to leave the restaurant without eating. We left feeling frustrated and disrespected. As long-time customers, we expected much better. This experience has made it clear we won’t be returning. I strongly discourage anyone with dietary restrictions or special needs from dining here—you won’t find any understanding or accommodation.
The wings and gluten free pizza here are fire! The GF pizza is so good we had to double check with the server to be sure. Personally, their pizza is not my favorite but I'm happy to go there for the wings while my hubby gets his GF pizza. The drinks are good and the service is outstanding!
Just visited for the first time and met the owners. Nicest people you’ll ever meet. Everything is gluten free except for the choice of some toppings, which are in a separate container. One owner is gluten free herself and they are both very knowledgeable on allergies. My daughter has a dairy/egg allergy and was able to eat here no problem. I highly recommend!
This small business restaurant is such a gem! Came in with a vegan diet and gluten allergy and they had options! If you're on a keto diet, they also have options for you too! Very allergy friendly and the food was DELICIOUS!!! 10/10 highly recommend! We will be back!
Root and Press never disappoints.
All their food is so delicious! I was ordering with my best friend who has Celiac’s and she swears by Root and Press because she’s always successful in finding something delicious!
I like the new location a lot, how they separated the book room from the dining room. I feel like there’s much more room to peruse. I had the sun dried tomato pesto pasta and the portion was awesome and it was hot and delicious. Recommended highly if you want a cute little spot for a delicious meal and a book to read.
The seafood saute is mind blowing. In fact it’s better with the gluten free pasta I think. Dynamite service and menu options. A must visit when you’re in town. Awesome experience
Love this restaurant. My son eats a vegan and gluten free diet. This place is wonderful. The food is delicious, and the service is excellent. There are so many choices, and it’s fun to be adventurous in your choices!
HEALTHY and FLAVORFUL This is a great place for a variety of delicious and healthy options as someone who looks for gluten free and vegan options. My boyfriend got the steak sandwich which he called “the best sandwich” he’s ever had and the portion was extremely generous and the steak was super tender and flavorful. The music was pretty loud honestly a little difficult to chat but I assume that’s part of the vibe lol. Has a family owned vibe and staff was very friendly with customers. Definitely recommend
We all asked for pink (you have only two options for cooked level btw) and they all came out completely burnt.
No gluten free options other than the buns, no appetizers or housemade gf sides.
You would think if the place only offers burgers they would at least offer a good one.
Left very unhappy, they compted it but it was a bad experience all together
The staff were friendly and understood my requests related to Gluten Free options. My husband loved the Shepherd's Pie. I was very happy with the Irish Pizza appetizer.
I find it absolutely disgusting that a restaurant charges those with allergies extra to eat.
If you want your dish gluten free, dairy free, egg free, or shellfish free, they charge you an extra dollar. How is this ADA compliant? What a way to extortion individuals with disabilities.
We loved this place! I am a vegetarian and my partner is celiac. They had great vegetarian options and they were very careful and considerate with the gluten-free order for my partner. We will definitely be coming back here regularly!
It was such an awesome experience From the moment we walked in they accommodated our semi tight schedule due to having a show to go to from ordering our dinner to receiving it to leaving. The food was DELICIOUS! They have amazing gluten free options. The servers were terrific. Have I said the food was amazing yet?!?! It's off the beaten path and so worth trying. If we lived closer, this would absolutely be a weekly dine in date.
The customer service at palace pizza is incredible. They take allergies very seriously. Having an anaphylactic reaction to gluten, I tend to not order out for fear of having to use my epi pen. My mind was immediately put to ease the first time I ordered from palace pizza. I was reassured they change gloves, prep in a different location, use different knives to cut your pizza, and all staff is notified the severity of your allergy. I appreciate the time they put into making sure your order is made correctly. Not only is the service amazing, so is their food! It’s hard finding places that even have gluten free options. I would recommend palace pizza to all of our friends and family!
I went and ordered an omelette. Huge portions. When I asked for no toast, they told me that they have gluten-free toast and a designated toaster. They make all of the regular bread. I will be back.
Authentic and tiny. The owner was so sweet and the place is so cute. Am not personally gluten fee or vegan, but really appreciated the dedicated vegan menu and the GF labeling. Will definitely be returning. No pictures because the food was gone so fast.
A++ tuna melt! Best lunch on a cold day, I got the Gluten Free and it was delicious. Not easy to find high quality deli melt sandwiches that are GF too! They accommodated our big party, live music was excellent.
Go-to Thai place in Worcester! Our order always come out perfect and they have great vegetarian and gluten free options. Excited for them to reopen next month after HVAC repairs!
The restaurant was so loud inside that the hostess had to ask us to repeat the number of our party a few times. We opted to sit outside on a cold night because of the level of noise.
The waitress seemed to understand that I was a Celiac and gave a few suggestions of safe foods, including checking with the kitchen if a soup contained flour. She gave me a side of fries with my entree, after telling me they aren't gluten free. She offered to put the fries on another plate and bring the entree back (not an option because of cross-contamination) and then told me the fish I ordered has been cooked in with the fires. I had to order another entree and there was no mention of adjusting the bill to compensate for her error. The waitress didn't check back on us, offer to fill / replace drinks, or bring us the check until about 20 minutes after all of us had finished our meals.
Food was ok at best. Will not be back.
Few things to say. First the service here is always fast and accurate. Always delicious and fresh but I have a few issues. I have a pretty severe gluten allergy and coming here is one of my safe options or used to… I come here often to this location after school and never had an issue until recently. Before, a manager would come by and confirm gluten allergy and made sure my stuff was bagged separately from my order (they put it in the same bag though which is a red flag) I order waffle fries since their GF bread cant even support me holding it nonetheless holding a chikin sandwich so i never order a sandwich. Also the gluten free bread is like actual sandpaper anyways After I ate the fries I had the utterly worst stomachache imagineable . Definitely some type of cross contamination. It’s sad because I trusted this place. The lemonade tasted REALLY bad too. They are usually really good with this stuff so I am just as shocked. This happened on March 10,2025 so this week. I couldn’t stop using the bathroom and couldn’t keep down food. I was in and out of the bathroom and physically could not stand. This reaction was really bad and it was the only thing I ate that day so it possibly couldn’t be anything else. I really like coming here and I’m really disappointed. I have nothing bad to say about the staff i just wish that when an allergy comes in they take it seriously. For my fellow celiacs, If the manager doesnt come to check on you. RUN… I would give this place a 5 star review but I can’t look past this.
very delicious food with many healthy vegan options! i believe the owner mentioned he has gluten free options as well. lots of variety for all different diets. very friendly as well!
I come here often and the food is delicious. The owners have knowledge of dietary conditions, vegan, gluten free, etc. I recommend this place to everyone. 10/10
Since COVID the menu no more gluten free.friends went there and waited an hour and they were regulars. We all went before going to Hanover Theater but not as confident we can get out of there quickly. Food is still good.
This is one of my favorite coffeehouses in Worcester!! They are so kind to open 1 hour early for us on Wednesday mornings, for our fitness group (November Project). We love them and their support of us! Their matcha lattes and vegan/gluten free cookies are VERY good, as well.
Authentic means spicy HOT! Host very accommodating . Menu could benefit with spicy hot indicators. The menu is labeled the opposite of what is customary meaning a “G” means has gluten vs gluten free. Can be confusing.. I would cone again!
COFFEE
* Fantastic unique flavor combinations to quell both the adventurous and minimalistic folk.
* Great value.
* I am picky
OTHER DRINKS
* VIRGIN MOJITOS!
They're soooooo yummy and refreshing. They have a slew of flavors you can add (i.e. peach, passionfruit, mango, raspberry...etc.). Whenever my boyfriend goes for coffee and I want some hydration--I go for these. They're made with sparkling seltzer, fresh lemon, fresh mint, and your flavor of choice! Sounds like it might be bland--nope! They're so tasty!
FOOD
* They're all made, in house!
* Fresh and tasty.
* Better than most bakeries in the surrounding areas.
* GLUTEN-FREE OPTIONS!
PEOPLE
* Happy, friendly, welcoming. You feel like family!
We thoroughly enjoy going to the Northborough location whenever we get the chance (which is about every weekend and when we can make it before work during the week). Although, we haven't yet been to the Worcester location, based on the reviews and photos it seems like things are similar to our experience in Northborough.
I've also met the owners at the Northborough location. Whenever I see them, they are always working behind the counting making drinks and ringing up--just like the other employees! They are hardworking and so so nice.
Don't pass this place up. If you ever get tired of the same-ol' coffee joints. Give this place a try! It's a great experience with yummy food and drinks to boot. It may even become a part of your routine coffee excursions--as it has become one of ours!
My absolute favorite restaurant! I’m allergic to soy and gluten, and the pad Thai has neither of those and it’s so incredibly delicious, I recommend this restaurant to everyone !!
Loved this place!! Everything I got to try before this gluten thing showed up was delicious!! My favorite was the French toast breakfast sandwich. I recommend taking the hash browns out and eating them separate from the rest of the sandwich. I'll have to comb the menu to see if there's anything I can eat there now, but, my not being able to enjoy it doesn't mean you shouldn't go have some.
Came to Mint for brunch with a few friends to try out their new Sunday brunch. We each got a different item and everyone was pleased with their food and drinks. The owner graciously accommodated one of my friends who has gluten and egg allergies- she had chicken pho, from the regular menu. I had the kaya French toast which is made with their own house milk bread. It was topped with their housemade shaved salted egg yolks which was a nice balance of sweet and salty. Other dishes our party had were the bo ne, pandan waffles and cauliflower bao buns.
The Build Your Own Mimosa was fun. Loved how you can adjust the level of spiciness (1-4) of the Spice It Right cocktail, which was refreshing with just a hint of sweetness. The servers were friendly and efficient. I've never seen brunch served at Vietnamese restaurants around here and I highly recommend it.
We always enjoy our time and meal here. Cocktails are an event! Roast chicken was moist and sides were delicious. Sitting at the bar is highly recommended. Gluten free meals are available too!
Best Rueben slaw in town, I order it on gluten free bread with deep fry home fries. The best breakfast place in town. Thank you Route 12 Cafe for making my food always with love.
Service was outstanding, food was delicious, drinks are solid. We ordered burgers, mine was with a gluten free bun, it was delicious even better then "fix" in my opinion. Highly recommend this place, it's clean, fresh food You should try it!
