Great option for gluten free people. Pancakes were excellent but $16 for plain buttermilk seems steep. Bacon was very average tasting thin slices and I was expecting more/better given the $10 for 3-4 slices. If budget isn't a factor for you and gluten free is something you need I would say this is likely one of the best options on the island. Staff was very nice as well!

Delicious gelato, and perfect for Celiac- they only have gluten-free (warm, crispy, delicious) cones! Plus I'm extremely lactose intolerant, but every flavor is vegan! Got strawberry and matcha, and it was really delicious; the flavors were fresh and perfectly sweet, the texture was smooth and creamy, and the cones were unbeatable! Super nice service too :)

We found this gem tonight and loved it. Nice unpretentious ambiance and prompt, friendly service. Our waiter Pohaku (sp?) took hubby’s gluten concern seriously and asked the kitchen about his meal - greatly appreciated! I had the catch of the day - mahi mahi fried in coconut with grilled veggies and brown rice. Hubby had the pork and cabbage. Both were tasty but mine was twice the price. At $14, his was def the better deal! Regardless, this is a good restaurant - well run and a diverse menu. If only they had gluten-free buns.... but this is a problem all over the island.

The Veli is a wonderful addition to vegan options in Pahoa. The menu is full of delicious options such as sandwich wraps, protein bowls and salads that are 100% plant based and gluten free. I haven't tried the food yet but it looks absolutely amazing and will be going back very soon. Me and my kid just stopped in and shared a berry nice-cream desert dish that was absolutely delicious and it was dairy free and made from bananas. The inside setting has beautiful hard wood epoxy dining tables and a small yet elegant seating arrangement. The walls were painted with some pretty amazing murals of waterfalls in a beautiful jungle setting, giving the place a very authentic Hawaiian vibe. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made the food in a timely manner. The Veli will definitely be my new go to option for delicious vegan food in Pahoa! Definitely stop in and check it out my friends, it is such an amazing place! Well done!!! Stay blessed 🙌 Aloha🤙🏝🌊🌺
