When it comes to good food, it doesn’t take much to influence me. I saw a post/rave yesterday about JoyFull Bites Cafe and I just knew it was going to be good. I quickly made my way over and ordered the weekly special, which happened to be tostadas. I swear I could eat a tostado a day and be a happy man. I only had a 10 minute drive home, but it seemed like it took forever. I called my wife and told her I was bringing lunch home. Within minutes of arriving home, we were already digging in.
The tostadas were absolutely perfect in every single way. The flavors were incredible, especially that jalapeño ranch. The tostada shell itself was still nice and crunchy, even after a 10 minute drive with all the ingredients stacked on top.
Those ingredients were:
•Grass fed taco meat
•Organic black beans
•Colby jack goat cheese
•Shredded romaine
•House made salsa fresca
•House made jalapeño ranch
•Avocado mash.
I can’t recommend this dish enough. They also had tons of delicious looking treats, although I resisted. It was hard, but I turned the other cheek lol.
If you haven’t stopped by yet, make your way over and find out how good their stuff really is. Everything is gluten free by the way!!!
The coffee was very good. I loved the comfortable inside space; it was a good place to do my school work. I ordered the smores latte which was super good. They also have all gluten free foods.

Great experience, highly recommend! Logan the manager and Heather our server could not have been nicer. So kind to me with my gluten allergy. Made me feel at home and at ease. Could not have gone better. Our food was great. We got the ribs, a filet, and sides of mashed potatoes and loaded sweet potatoes. All gluten free and delicious. We will be back soon. They take allergies seriously here and you can tell Logan and the staff care. GO HERE! Tyler, TX location. Extensive gluten free menu!!!!
If you are gluten free, this is the place to go for a sub. Thanks Jersey Mike's for adding this option to your menu. I had the #8 club sub on GF bun and it was awesome.
Really good family dinner including French fries for the 5 year old. The menu has labels for gluten free and vegetarian so you can easily see what to get.
For the price point this place just isn't it. The food is subpar. The menu makes you think they are allergen friendly. THEY ARE NOT. Before we ordered we listed our son's food allergies and brought out food with an allergen on it. Gluten free chips were STALE. Michelada was terrible. Overall DO NOT RECOMMEND.
I have enjoyed every time I've been here! I always get their chips and queso! I also enjoy their burgers with the gluten-free buns, definitely a solid option for those of us with dietary restrictions. Service has always been good, clean facilities, and good food too!
I really enjoyed this little hidden gem. While there are a few things in would improve, the environment was great. It was clean and the staff was nice. I even had a gluten free waffle. That’s something that’s hard to come by in some areas. I will be back when I’m in town
I recently got diagnosed with celiac disease, I googled gluten free restaurants and BJ restaurant was one of the choices. This gluten free stuff is all new to me. My husband and I have never been to this restaurant. We were seated immediately and the waiter Nick was very nice and knowledgeable. He brought me a gluten free menu that I could look at. I chose the cheeseburger and it came with a gluten-free bun. Let me tell you that this was the BEST burger I ever ate. I couldn't eat the fries so I had a side salad. A meal of it's own lol also very delicious. THEN Nick suggested a gluten free cookie with Ice cream. OMG! the best cookie ever. I was expecting our meal to be around $50-$60 but it was only $40. Great meal at a reasonable price. Great job Nick and BJ's!
If i could give this restaurant a -5, I would. The food is good (when you are lucky and are even able to GET food), but the staff is horrible. Horrible. Horrible. They are rude, they accept doordash orders when they KNOW they can’t take them, to then be rude to the dashers who have arrived to pick up or the customers, and they are wildly untrained. They yell at one another while customers are in the store. One time, i came in to pick up my order, and they said i needed to wait an hour and a half (when i had ordered it 50 mins prior), because “that guy right next to you just came in and ordered $150 worth of food”.. then the worker saying it proceeded to roll his eyes at his high paying customer! The girl who is there always sits at the bar staring at her phone. One time i sat for 18 minutes straight, finally finished with my meal that took forever to get, waiting for her to acknowledge me to bring me my check. I just wanted to see how long it would take her. The man standing behind the sushi counter looked at me multiple times, looked at the girl, then looked back down at his phone. This is ALL after it took me FOUR attempts to even EAT here, when the first three i was Turned away each time! Mind you… this restaurant is NEVER busy. Never. They intentionally will not even turn on their open sign so people will not come in. I have been calling their phone repetitively for 45 minutes now- and no one will pick up. My husband was in town and went by there for me to see if he could get it ordered in person. There was NO ONE in the restaurant. Not a single person. Not. ONE. And the phone was ringing right next to them while they stared at their phones (that phone call was me). They won’t be closing for another 2 hours, either.
This review was all over the place, but i am just SO appalled at how they are even still open with how incredibly horrible the service here is. It’s seriously the worst thing I’ve ever experienced, and I’m a very understanding/gracious girl by nature. This is just blatant rudeness and disrespect towards all paying customers because they are lazy, undertrained, and unwilling to be present whatsoever. The fact that management (whoever the heck owns this) is running Chiangmai Kitchen so decently over in Cumberland, but refuses to fix the disaster that is the Chiangmai Sushi in Times Square, should be SO embarrassed of themselves or just shut the place down for good.
Absolutely enraging.
The ONLY reason I go here, is because i have celiac disease and a lot of their meals are gluten free. This evening, after horrible experiences 9 out of 10 times, i will not be gracious and continue here any longer. I can Absolutely find elsewhere in the area with gluten free noodles of some sort.
Kick rocks, Chiangmai.
We had the best time & the food was absolutely AMAZING! Everyone was very knowledgeable about gluten-free & took extra special care with my food! I had the combo fajita (steak & chicken) nachos! And the chips & salsa are gluten-free as well! Janie & Rodrigo were the sweetest, funniest & best servers ever! If we are back in the area we will definitely visit them again!
I really love this coffee place. I needed coffee so I decided to stop here, because the chain coffee shops ingredients almost always give me a headache. I’m happy to say that I felt good all day after drinking coffee from the foundry and no headaches at all. I also really enjoyed the gluten free banana bread. My daughter loved it also. The employees were so friendly. We will definitely be back.
Not sure how this restaurant has 4+ star reviews.
We had a very nice server start out with us and then he just disappeared and worked a bigger table. Took a while for another guy to come bring us our drinks and appetizers. Our sushi roll was made with old rice. I'm talking chunks of hard rice. We stayed to see how the rest of the experience would go. They accommodated for gluten free and that was awesome. But then we saw some kind of bug run across the grill. The waiter quietly killed and removed it. And thanked us for staying calm, but we were just left speechless. Definitely will not be returning for all these reasons.
I told the manager that I have celiac disease and she asked me if I wanted a burrito... it made me feel like she wasn't educated abt my allergy and that I was risking exposure bc of her lack of knowledge. I'm disappointed bc chipotle is one of the only places I feel comfortable eating at. I wish she had been more aware 😕
This restaurant serves fresh, hot, delicious breakfast, brunch, and lunch items. We were placed on the waiting list as soon as we arrived and we waited 2-3 minutes before being seated. Nice cafe feel, with healthier options. They have sourdough, wheat, and even gluten free bread. The lettuce was a nice spring mix. I ordered the sandwich and soup combo. Their tomato basil soup was hot and tasty. The half sandwich was huge and filling. Nice place to go relax and eat. Although the service is fast and healthy, there is no rush to eat and leave.
The servers are very nice. The food is amazing. The girl who took my order was super helpful in working around my food sensitivities. It's a great option for flavorful healthy food. The falafel here is gluten free!
Customer service is incredible, Trystan and Lydia helped me figure out exactly what I could have to eat with my gluten allergy. 10/10 would recommend!!!
Restaurant had few patrons during a Saturday lunch hour. Meal was barely edible and not enjoyed by our party of 6 adults with children. Porterhouse steak was the worst cut of gristly meat I have ever encountered; meat must be swallowed in whole pieces because it couldn't be chewed up. Chicken fried steak was not tasty, and the gravy was overpowered with large peppercorn pieces. Rattler bites were okay, but the jalapeno was so spicy it was hard to enjoy and overtook the dish. Kids mac n cheese meal is boxed Kraft; children are used to decadent, homemade sauce, but they received Kraft at a steakhouse. Ribs and shrimp for gluten sensitivity were so-so; portions of ribs were overcooked and hard. Shrimp served with it had a lot of strong seasoning and were dry without any butter. Party liked the bread, and the gluten free bun brought out with honey butter was good. All who had mashed potatoes agreed that was the best part of their meal. Maybe they were having an off day cooking, but I cannot understand how such poor cuts of steak would ever be used. Waitress was kind. An extremely disappointing $200+ meal we won’t soon forget— or repeat.
Always quick and high quality service. The gluten free bread and consistent quality has made this my go-to sandwich shop. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting a good sandwich.
I am gluten-free and notified the young lady before I ordered. She informed me that other than the tortillas, everything was GF. However, she went to another area and dipped the beans, and changed her gloves before going to another cooler to get the cheese.
Is there a risk of gluten contamination? Yes, but this young lady took my concerns seriously, and thankfully, I did fine. I wish I had gotten her name.
This was our second time here and we had another great experience. I am gluten free and they had several options for me. My husband loved the food he ordered. A big reason we had a great experience was our server Savannah! She was attentive, knowledgeable, caring, and funny. Thank you Savannah!
The food is good. The service is casual, helpful, attentive, and accurate both times I have eaten here. The atmosphere is very casual, but not bad at all.
Gluten-free options were a good surprise as my wife requires these options. All-in-all a very good experience.
The TVs with anime shows and the anime wall art are what I am not a fan of, but it's easy to overlook in good company. For some, these features will be right up your alley.
I would go again!
The atmosphere is great. The place is fairly well decorated and landscaped.
Service was good, no complaints.
Cocktails were very good, probably some of the best I've had in Tyler.
Food was good.
There are several options for those who eat gluten free. They are marked right on the regular menu.
We love to stop in to local breweries all around the country and get some good craft beer! We got an 8 flight tray to try some out. My husband really enjoyed Skull Blossom, and I enjoyed enjoyed breakfast Lager. The kids enjoyed the food and pool table and dj! The Yum Yum burger was good and had gluten-free buns! My only recommendation is the flights cost more than a beer can, so perhaps go for a full beer and split a couple that way to save money. 😁😅
We grabbed some of those beers to go!

Romas is our absolute favorite restaurant! The food is consistently fabulous and homemade! They go above and beyond to accommodate my gluten free issues. We routinely order Togo from them and have never once had anything but excellent food and service. We also attended a retirement party there recently and the staff was top tier. They had food out fast and fresh. The quickly and quietly served a huge crowd without my mistakes and among the speeches and crowds. I would most definitely host a gathering here with zero hesitation!!! They also hosted a large homecoming crowd with superior service and food! Infinite stars to Roma!!!
Excellent staff and wonderful food. The manager, Diego, was incredibly, above and beyond helpful in answering my dietary questions. Additionally, when I asked questions of the servers, if they did not know the answer they would do all they could to figure it out. I have been multiple times and each time have enjoyed a complete gluten free meal that was delicious. I recommend any of the enchiladas.
First time eating here. Came in and almost left (hostess sat us in a closed section away from any server's sight for some reason???). The waitress that ended up taking care of us, Hanna, WAY more than made up for it!!! She was very attentive, but not overly so. Hanna always kept a smile on and will most definitely be the waitress we always ask to take care of us here. My wife and I shared the Italian Nachos and a 14" gluten free crust Five Burroughs pizza. Nachos were spot on and a nice surprising flavor! Gluten free Five Burroughs pizza was the perfect amount of sauce and just the right amount of toppings (not too greasy either!!!) Other than the mix up in the beginning, everything was spot on!
