I want to love Fire Works Pizza. I do. The food IS good. The place is family friendly (generally) and you can usually get in and out pretty quick. BUT do not expect them to make any kind of adjustment to the way they cook the food. And I'm not saying unreasonable adjustments, I'm talking any adjustment. We used to go to Fire Works Pizza every other Friday. My son is lactose intolerant and so we would order a gluten free pizza with "light cheese." That's the only tweak we made to a gluten free, pepperoni pizza. And every time, it came out with a very normal amount of cheese. We watched to see if the wait staff were putting in the request and they were. It wasn't the wait staff's fault. It was the kitchen. I also used to get a steak fajita salad. It's delicious and very close to being one of my favorite salads at a restaurant. Every time they would ask me how I would like the steak cooked, I would ask for Medium and clarify that it's because I was giving my 1 year old daughter some steak and she can't yet have undercooked food. Every single time, it came out VERY medium rare. I mean, pretty rare for this steak-loving Texan who would otherwise never order a steak done medium. Why ask if the kitchen is going to do whatever they want anyways? So we stopped going. It just wasn't worth the hassle of pulling cheese off of a pizza and trying to cut the cooked parts of a steak for my daughter to eat. We would both walk away still hungry. Is the food good? Yep. If you order exactly what they have exactly as they want to make it. Is the service good? Wait staff is great. Will we go back? Nope. And that's unfortunate. But maybe other people are experiencing the same and that's why it was slow all the time. Who knows.

I am so glad I discovered this place! I have seriously tried every gluten free pizza in the area and Troy's is by far the best. Their gluten free chicken Parmesan pasta is amazing too. Beyond that, I'm always greeted with the friendliest and quickest service here, and their homemade pizza sauce is the best I've had. I would highly recommend Troy's if your craving pasta, pizza, or Italian food, whether or not you're gluten free or vegan, they have delicious options all around and fast service. Thank you guys for what you do!

All-around great spot for Italian in Rosslyn! Sfoglina has a super lively atmosphere, friendly service, and a solid variety of delicious food. I've visited a few times, and each time have been super impressed by how welcoming and accommodating of dietary restrictions the staff has been -- Italian places are generally tough for folks who are gluten-free, but they have a number of gluten-free items (or substitutions), and the servers are diligent about checking with the kitchen to confirm the ingredients. My latest (and favorite) visit was for Summer Restaurant Week in 2023; the meal came with three courses, starting with a delicious and refreshing salad, and ending with an equally delicious and refreshing sorbet for dessert. My entree of choice was their olive oil poached Icelandic cod, which was perfectly flaky and tender. The capers and squid ink made the dish quite the umami flavor bomb, and I would absolutely visit again just to indulge in their cod again. The king of their menu is, of course, their giant selection of pasta. If you're feeling indecisive, you can get a pasta flight to share with your table and sample three plates (which is honestly just a tiny fraction of their menu, but still a delicious fraction). They don't explicitly call this out on their menu, but you can also order a half portion of any of their pastas, which is great if you're not feeling super hungry or if you want to try out two different entrees. All in all, Sfoglina is a vibrant restaurant with lovely service and fantastic food -- highly recommend for your next Italian craving!
