Oh YEAH! What a gem. I grew up in Singapore so I never expect much of Indian food in Europe but this place nailed it. Creamy palak paneer, spicy dhal, smooth and rich butter chicken, nutty biryani, garlic naan with a literal layer of garlic inside.. fantastic. Our entire group of 10 ate everything on the table.
Portions are good and the flavours are authentic. Absolutely recommend this place for great Indian food.
Not just that but they handled the gluten allergy within the group exceptionally.
We went to check out Bistro Doudou, which is an hours drive away, so we can recommend it to our guests if they visit Bar-Le-Duc... it was a drive worth while!
Very nice location with a terrace in city centre, very nice staff and simple but colourfull dishes full of taste explosions!
Their sundried tomato tappenade with tofu is divine, there was gluten free bread and the main course was delicious with fresh local and organic veggies. The Almond cake for dessert was lovely, too and we will certainly be back!
What a great find! Busy even on a Monday evening!
The waiter was so friendly, pleasant and helpful when we asked about gluten free meals (this has not always been the case in French cafes and restaurants unfortunately).
Both waiters had excellent English, which was great.
When ordering, they give you spice/heat level options. They also offer French cheese instead of paneer in case you're dubious about paneer (don't be, it's the most delicious cheese to cook with!)
We had lamb Madras (excellent), palak paneer (excellent), chicken korma (good), and butter chicken (good). The latter two dishes were for my children who like milder dishes.
The kulfi dessert was beautiful, and I also tried lots of sorbets which were tasty too.
We left with lots of free mango sweets from the kind waiter!
*Highly recommend this restaurant*
Thank you for your welcome and your always tasty dishes which delight me.
You can still satisfy me despite my dairy and gluten free diet. Well done ! And see you soon.
