SuperMegaBad—One of my biggest pet peeves in life is over paying for low quality food and this was exactly that. Food: My husband and I decided to check out this place after hearing it was now 100% gluten free (I have Celiac disease). I didn’t check the menu before arriving. However, I wish I would have because I wouldn’t have gone. I can appreciate the creative concept, but it is poorly executed. They bring 2-3 small plate options around every 10-15 minutes and it creates a lot of pressure! After turning down the first few options (looked gross or sounded boring), I felt forced into picking the next item that came around which was 3 plantains, shredded beef and white rice (this was $16). With my first bite of beef I immediately regretted my decision. It was a bite of full gristly fat. The rest of the dish was quite flavorless. They came around with more small plates, and after we turned them down they were like, “ok what is it you want?” From there, we requested the patatas bravas. We enjoyed this dish; however, I do think it’s hard to mess up fried potatoes with mayo. We were deciding between two large plates, and I asked if the brisket was fatty and was told no so we decided to go with this option. For $38 we were given build-yourself-tacos which included fatty brisket, half a lime, two salsas, 4 tortillas and chopped onion. This was a huge let down and very flavorless! The meat was either dry or fatty and for that price I would expect more topping options (avocado, cheese, maybe a full lime?). Honestly, the crock pot chicken we make at home with taco seasoning has more flavor and pizazz. Drinks: my husband loved his amber beer. My “spicy margarita” tasted very watered down and pretty bland. No spice at all. I tried to order a red wine blend as it sounded quite unique (Mexican blend or Portuguese blend) but they were out of both options. Vibes: extremely tight seating and veryyy loud. Not great for date night. Maybe more fun for a group of friends. Service: Our server made us feel like we were annoying her by being there. When we first sat down she seemed fine but after I said I was confused by the concept at first from there she did not seem very friendly. While I was finishing my glass of wine she tried to grab the bill from us but we hadn’t yet tipped or signed. Coming from the service industry I always thought this was a big no no? All-in-all, I won’t be back. For the same amount of money (or less) I can get a better Mexican / Latin American meal at Teocalli or Cozobi Fonda Fina (check this out if you’ve never been, the food is to die for!).

If you’re EVER near Denver, this is a must stop. I live in Colorado Springs and have already warned my partner that their gluten free Nutella pizza will be a pregnancy craving in the future we’re def driving for. 😂 They use gluten removed wheat starch from Italy (celiac safe but not safe for a wheat allergy) and separate prep areas and ovens for gluten free orders. Their fried eggplant is also one of the best meals I’ve ever had from a restaurant. They do have vegan cheese options too.

Everything here was amazing!! Our server Matt was incredibly helpful and detailed with navigating allergens on menu. They have so many gluten free options, without needing to modify or miss out on any of the dishes. The chicken, trout, and plantains were all exceptional, can’t wait to come back and try more!

We love Stem. I am gluten- and dairy-free and Stem is wonderful with dietary restrictions. 10/10 recommend. Don't skip the duck fat fries.

Husband and I went for our anniversary and it didn't disappoint! My husband ate so much he couldn't walk back to the car. Also they were very accommodating about telling us which were gluten free (we had celiac in our party).
