Nice ambience. Bustling (Saturday lunchtime) but not unpleasantly so. Food from the fixed menu was OK - the cheeses were excellent. Service OK, but very slow - the delay was at the kitchen end most likely, as serving staff did not seem unduly rushed. Reasonable number of gluten free dishes. Big downer for the disabled - no parking anywhere near, especially blue badge parking.
GF (Gluten Free) pizza was a disaster.
Reviews that claim its the best pizza are probably used to eating frozen pizzas, or card board - which would taste better than the GF pizza in this place!
Tried to contact the restaurant over email to share my experience and they claimed they cannot identify my custom even though I shared the attached receipt and had no reply!
We had the chocolate cake, to much baking powder in it so had a horrible bitter taste that overpowered the chocolate and very dry. They don't use a separate knife to cut so not fully gluten free
The Crown at Ampney Brook was a lovely pub for Sunday Roast in the Cotswolds. The food was excellent, service was friendly, and the interior reminded me of a cozy, countryside cottage.
The food wasn’t necessarily anything to write home about, but it was all very well done — the beef roast being the stand out. And gluten free was marked on the regular menu, with a plethora of options! This place was also incredibly dog friendly — there was a dog at every single table in our area of the restaurant, ranging from big to small.
Dining here was well worth the 25-minute drive from where we were staying to enjoy a nice Sunday roast before heading back into the city, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return.
Your mileage may vary.
Not celiac or gluten intolerant friendly as stated on their menu.
Other than that, most of the items on their menu are delicious and competitively priced. The service is lovely with a great team. and, it's dog friendly.
Came for lunch - great selection, friendly and helpful staff, lots of options (including gluten free). All came quickly and generous portions. Very tasty too!
Pretty good range of gluten free options (clearly marked), lots of different flavours of rice. The waiters are nice and service is fast. The setting is surprisingly romantic
Group of 18 of us aged between 11 and 68 had a fabulous meal on a Saturday evening. We preordered our main courses as requested, all food served hot, well presented and everyone loved the flavours. Our meals included pizzas, pastas, side salads. 2 members of our party were gluten free and were accommodated without any issues. Desserts were delicious from ice creams, crème brûlées, tiramisu. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and looks after us so well. We were there for a family celebration and they made it a special evening for us. Thank you, we will visit when in Cirencester again.
