Decent Italian restaurant on Melville Road Postmistress is a casual restaurant that focuses on pizza and pastas. Cheap and cheerful with a menu that caters to cafe-style food and drinks. Our waiter (sorry.. didn't get her name) was delightful and very attentive. Despite the open plan dining room (and lots of kids) the noise level was quite low. The kind of place you'd go for a family or friends catchup rather than a date. Caters for people with gluten sensitivity (but with a surcharge). People with mobility issues will be fine here as it's all on one floor with no steps to negotiate. Parking pretty easy on street and the 58 tram trundles by fairly frequently. Menu-wise.. I'd recommended going with the pizza or pasta rather than chicken or steak options.

Always incredibly nice. We love the consistency, the food is always delicious. Gluten free Hawaiian is spot on and gnocchi bolognese is perfect! Best pizza in the area.

Delicious wood fired pizza made by real Italians. We love the house made gluten-free crust. It’s our local pizza place for kids and adults alike.

Gluten free options are great with separate fryer. Lots of salads and they do battered gluten free fish which is amazing and a rare find in Melbourne. Reasonable prices and friendly staff. Will definitely be coming back. I especially liked the chips which were golden brown and well cooked , i hate undercooked chips and this place actually knows how to their cook chips properly. Highly recommend.

Wow!! What a beautiful meal shared with my wife and close friends!! I forgot to take photos because I was so impatient!! We started off with 2 servings of arancini and the focaccia. For mains, Gluten free, buffalino pizza Margarita pizza Carbonara Gnocchi Napoli A couple glasses of barbera and chianti to wash it all down. Also grabbed a take away tiramisu and my oh my, it was oh so light, so flavorful and I think I’ll have to go by today and grab another!! Thanks again team it was a truly enjoyable meal and I can see why it’s always a packed restaurant!
