This is a great place! You know it is great when you pull in the parking lot on a week night and the place is packed. We didn't have a reservation and didn't have to wait any longer than 10 minutes. The service was good and the food was high quality with reasonable prices. Don't get me wrong, you can easily spend $100 for two people if you have drinks and desserts. Overall a good experience, I just wish they had gluten free dessert. They do offer gluten free pasta.
Let me start by saying I absolutely love the Albany Swifty’s. Food has been amazing every time and they always get my gluten free order right. My husband was in the Utica area so we decided to get takeout to bring home. We got home and not only was the order wrong but the chicken was RAW. I know this is first world problems but I had to throw out my dinner. Very disappointing experience. We called the restaurant and they did void our credit card payment which was nice but I will not be going here again.
Gluten free pizza is tasty, but definitely not prepared in cross-contamination free space. I would avoid if you have extreme food sensitivities/allergies as I felt unwell for about a day after eating here. Restaurant is also very cold.
Oh the tram! The tram!
My favorite cafe
I’ll try to sum it up, best I can.
The tram is full of tasty delights
Bustling but cozy from morning to nights
You can have a delicious sandwich or soup
Bring a friend, better yet, and order two!
Their poetry nights are a big hit
Their other events are just as lit!
The owners and staff are so very kind,
Their events, art, and vibe are so divine.
At the tram you’ll always have a good time :)
(But for real holy heck I’d be so much worse without the tram. Great food options I’m gluten free now which makes me want to cry but the tram makes it better because they have like 3 gluten free bread options. Sometimes they even have gluten free pasta salad which makes me so happy. They have non dairy milks so I don’t hurt the general public. Delicious soups. I love their dirty Thai coffee. They have a space for me and others to share our poetry and music and art. I really do always have a good time here, you won’t regret checking it out!!)
If you are in Utica you must dine here. If you are not in Utica, go there just to dine here.
Talk about feeling like you are home! This family makes you so welcome, and the food is outrageously delicious. Be sure to try the Turkish coffee that they offer. I said no, initially then thankfully changed my mind! We were a party of five and every one of us loved our respective dishes. My brother has Celiac disease and they were wonderful with him. He did mourn over not being able to have the lush pita! The lamb was tender. The salads were crisp. The hungry sailor boys with us were stuffed when we left.
Seriously. One of the best places to eat in the greater Utica area.

Update: Thank you Jason for reaching out I appreciate a business that cares for their customers.
Starting on a good note. Everything we ate was absolutely amazing. I usually do not have many issues but last night there were many issues. I ordered curbside pick up and talked to nice woman on the phone and we talked about my husband’s gluten free order and I ordered a slice of cannoli pie. When I got there I waited 15 minutes after texting. I usually get a text back saying okay or we will be out shortly but there was no communication. I tried another 5 minutes calling and nothing. So I had to wake up my sleeping baby and take him inside which he was not happy about. Only for me to get home and see they did not give me gluten free pasta for my husband and gave us a cannoli instead of cannoli pie. I called and they said we could come pick up new food. I sent my husband and still he came back and opened bag and it was a cannoli not cannoli pie. And I would think with the price of gas they would at least offer reimbursement on the dessert but nothing. However I am thankful that they tried to correct the issue and they were nice on the phone.
Coffee and chai were delicious! Atmosphere was so relaxing. Spinach & feta omelette was cooked to perfection, and they had gluten free toast! Will definitely return, service was great too.
Honestly decent place to grab a burger and fries and usually is safe for those of us with Celiac. Just pay attention to the prep of your food and handling though, I got fries today and didn't notice a new employee touched them with his gloves on that has already been touching buns of bread. This resulted in cross contaminated french fries and I paid the price!!! Prices are rising so this is a $20 burger/fries/drink joint nowadays too FYI. Burger flavor and toppings selection all great and lots of quality there too.
I brought my management committee here for an amazing culinary experience and that is just what we had. I worked with the staff to reserve multiple tables and reviewed the menu to ensure the vegan, and gluten-free requirements still allowed for many delicious options on their menu. Once seated all the tables received the charcuterie and cheese boards immediately so we could relax, drink some wine from NY state and enjoy the conversation. The staff was attentive and made us feel welcomed and our VIPs had wonderful things to say about the ambiance, small plates, drinks and desserts. The next day at the actual meeting we were still talking about the experience and raved about the local food and beverages. The chef(s) are very talented and we look forward to dining here again soon.
We had the brunch which was wonderful
The menu has some very nice options
The chef is very accommodating and prepared our meals gluten free
The best brunch in Utica
Today I called 72 tavern and grill. The hostess Becky was so knowledgeable about the menu! I asked about gluten free and vegetarian options. She told me the impossible burger was awesome! I definitely am glad she answered! The staff is always friendly.
The food is always good, and the menu offers a large selection. Additionally they have a lot of gluten free options. It can be pretty hard finding a place my sister can eat at!
I've never had a bad drink here- AND they have gluten free selections usually! The cozy ambiance, combined with the excellent service, makes it the perfect spot to read a book or get some work done. There is lots of little nooks to sit in & a section for kids to play. I love how they also have local art displayed, which adds to the charm of the place. They also regularly host events/workshops.
The food and our server was excellent...We truly enjoyed our dinner at this Thai restaurant....Gluten Free options on the menu also which was a major plus!! I had the "Tokyo" sushi rolls and they were Delicious....so was the fried rice and the portions were good size too.
This place was TERRIBLE. They were ignorant and did not listen to simple orders. They also gave my friend a hard time about her gluten allergy. Overall terrible experience, really don’t want to come back again.
We were looking for something that was more health and gluten free. Nanabi was the perfect spot to fill that requirement. Our food was inexpensive, fresh, prepared quickly and the service provided was excellent. I highly recommend eating here.
Very disappointed with the service I experienced. A person in my party has celiac disease. She explained what she could and could not have (no bread or cross contamination, etc). The waitress expressed she understood. Her side salad was served with bread, even though waitress said it wouldn’t be. Her panini was cross contaminated, as she started to experience symptoms of nausea and bloating after eating. Not only this, but the waitresses gave us attitude the entire time we were there. Immediately after we signed the bill we were told to leave to give our table to someone else. We will never be coming back to this establishment again. 0/5 stars if I could rate it that low.
The re-opening of Mangia Macrina’s was something we have really looked forward to. This new location did not disappoint. There are plenty of tables and the atmosphere is oh so cozy. There are so many variations of pizzas to try, and their gluten free crust is hands down the best! Anyone who has tried this pizza knows there’s nothing comparable to it anywhere! I once thought I would never find the incredible taste of the pizza served in Italy here in the states. I was proven wrong the first time I tried Mangia Macrina’s pizza. That same amazing, authentic Italian pizza (made in a genuine wood stove from Italy) is found right here in our own backyard. If you have not tried it, you are missing out. I will be a forever customer.
