Amicas is the best pizza in the state of Colorado! My husband and daughter are both celiac and my daughter can’t do dairy. Amicas has the best gluten free pizza we have ever had and they also have dairy free cheese. You would think this would make for mediocre pizza, but let me tell you, it is so delicious and perfect! If you have dietary restrictions or not, this pizza is the best!
Positives: gluten free options, friendly staff. Wings were good.
Cons: the regular pizza was not great. I'd say a 3/10. The apple juice for my daughter tasted like it went bad. Even the wait staff said their juices don't taste good when I sent it back. Wife's GF sandwich was pretty bad as well. Was so excited to eat here after being GF for the past few years. Overpriced for what you get IMO. Will not be going back.
Here's a five-star review based on your experience at Pizza Rio in Salida:

**A Culinary Gem in Salida – Pizza Rio Delivers!**
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
From the moment we walked in, Pizza Rio made sure our dining experience was top-notch. We started our meal with the Burrata appetizer, which was nothing short of a mozzarella masterpiece, delighting us with its creamy texture and rich flavors.
For the main course, we chose the "sage pizza" on a gluten-free crust. This pizza was a revelation with its perfect blend of savory herbs and a crust that was both tender and crisp – no easy feat in the world of gluten-free options!
To complement our meal, we tried the "Row Me" vodka drink, a refreshingly summery beverage that was the perfect balance of zest and sweet.
A special shoutout to Nara, our server, who was not only delightful and fun but also exceptionally helpful. She made our visit even more enjoyable with her attentive service and great personality.
If you're in Salida and looking for a truly unique and satisfying dining experience, look no further than Pizza Rio. It’s a must-visit for anyone who cherishes quality food and fantastic service!
This restaurant advertises several gluten free items, but they are made in a space shared with a bakery. The waiter could not recommend any items for someone with celiac disease. It is irresponsible, misleading and dangerous to advertise items as gluten free if they are contaminated. Celiacs must avoid this restaurant to avoid hospitalization.
Very friendly service, excellent food and atmosphere. I had rib special which was delicious, my wife had gluten free French onion soup and was delighted. The pickled plate starter was also fabulous. I would definitely go back.
One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Great food and friendly staff. Waitress was super knowledgeable about gluten free and they have a lot of tasty options + a dedicated GF frier. Can’t wait to visit again!
In a new and hip area of Salida, there’s a coffee shop that might just be the town's best-kept secret. Howard General may be easy to miss if you're not looking, but once discovered, it promises a coffee experience that's both cozy and memorable.
As soon as you step inside Howard General, you’re greeted with the kind of warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The coffee shop is a mix of eclectic and elegant vibes, much like Salida itself. It’s the kind of place where every corner, every piece of furniture, book, and art feels like it has a story.
When it comes to their coffee, Howard General doesn’t disappoint. They serve up a variety of options from rich, smooth espressos to creamy lattes. Each cup is crafted with a level of care and precision that transforms your usual coffee run into a delightful experience.
But it’s not just the coffee that makes Howard General a local favorite - it’s the overall ambiance. The term "good vibes" takes on a whole new meaning here and is designed for comfort and connection. It’s the sort of place where conversations flow easily and every guest is treated like a friend.
The décor contributes to the warm and inviting atmosphere. It strikes a balance between simplicity and elegance, offering a cozy retreat where patrons can unwind and enjoy the small pleasures of life. The ambiance is as much a draw as the delicious coffee - together, they create an experience.
In a nutshell, Howard General is Salida’s cozy nook for quality coffee and good vibes. It’s not overly grand or pretentious, just a genuine, welcoming space where you can enjoy a good brew, relax, and connect with others. Every visit is a gentle reminder of the simple, yet profound joy of savoring a well-brewed cup of coffee in a place that feels like home.
The gourmet and healthy snack selection is awesome, especially for those with dietary needs (gluten-free and vegan), Each very unique and not foods easily found. Their snacks are curated with an eye for nutritional richness, with a step toward holistic well-being.
They also have a lovely version of drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, they have an extensive collection of handpicked wines, and for beer enthusiasts, they have a selection of crafts.
Best brownie Sunday I’ve ever had!
Thick creamy ice cream and chewy delicious brownie.
I split the full size one with my mom and we were both really impressed by the fact that it was gluten free (my mom has celiac)
Highly recommend stopping by when you’re in town.
Amazing food and great service! The smoked turkey sandwich was excellent. The waitress did great to accommodate my friend with celiac disease. Will be back. Amazing pickles too!
Our family loves this place, especially in the summer. Great location on the river and fun atmosphere! Menu has recently changed and I miss some semi healthy options, like the turkey club. It’d be great if there was a grilled chicken breast instead of just fried to add to a salad or have as a chicken sandwich. I’m gluten free so limited, glad you kept the GF buns though!
What a nice dinner. The group had Bangkok rolls, Penang curry, drunken noodles and the black Angus steak after asking what the waiter recommended. The steak was tender and the sauces were tasty. The veggies in all dishes were fresh and lovely. We left nothing on our plates. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Vegan and Gluten free options available. Eat here.
For someone with gluten and dairy restrictions, I am so thankful for Mojos! There are tons of options as is and they can make substitutions to many menu items to accommodate GF and DF. AND…the food is so yummy, nutritious, and great serving sizes. The people who run it are such lovely people too. I’m lucky to work next door.
