Service and atmosphere are great. I ordered and received my order in 5 minutes. The price does not match the quality or quantity, and any substitute or additional will shoot up the total price. Do not order the vegan bagels as they are also gluten free and are not actually bagels, more of a flat bread. A $16.95 combo came out to $32 with the addition of a latte ($5), hash brown ($1.50) and vegan bagel ($1.75). Terrace is fantastic for the summer though.
It was good nothing more. I expected more. Maybe my expectations were too high, hence my “disappointment”. I put it in quotation marks because the word is a bit strong. Let's get this straight, it was super good but unfortunately the cream sugar sauce was grainy and the presentation was average. You should know that I took the gluten-free bread so that takes away a little charm. Overall I'm satisfied but it wasn't WOW.

Well-labeled foods for all types of restricted diets including FODMAP, vegan, gluten-free, etc. Also a selection of refills for cleaning products and soaps
Had the pleasure of eating at Beba on Sunday. I don't think of myself as a foodie - I have a lot of food restrictions (gluten & dairy free :( ) so it's a tough thing to participate in but I had family in town who really wanted to go here.
I am always hyper aware of what a pain it is to accommodate food restrictions (I'm so sorry :( ) so I had written in advance to ask about the menu. The response couldn't have been more gracious and the server went out of their way to ask a lot of questions. So for the allergy & intolerance buds, this place is a win.
Someone was getting trained in the kitchen while we were there and it was comforting to see the amount of patience being demonstrated towards them. Open kitchens put extra pressure on people but everyone seemed to be communicating kindly. (One of many ways that Beba comes off as progressive and fresh - it's hard to imagine one of these chefs having an old school meltdown) They made service look effortless even though it surely isn't considering the care put into the food.
The cocktails were perfect. They seemed to be mostly *slight* twists on classics. No smoke bubble bullshit just like a hint of lavender. The (modified) food I had was great and I can only assume that in it's intended dairy and gluten having form it's even better.
I have to say I didn't feel quite cool enough to be there but that was entirely on me. It's beautiful inside - from the tableware to the customers - and outside where there's an adorable little patio area).
My thought leaving this restaurant was that the staff deserve to be proud of themselves and of their workplace. There aren't a lot of restaurants able to convey this level of grace and elegance. Thank you for all your hard work.
One of my favourite restaurant in Montreal. Food Reminds me of my stay in Bali. The satay are awesome. The cocktails as well is very good. Very cozy place for a romantic dinner. The waiters are very nice and give you good suggestions about what to have. Gluten free friendly food. Have parking spots.
We took a sushi platter for two people and we enjoyed it! The portions were more than adequate. The products are fresh and everything is prepared on site. We asked for a gluten-free platter and we got it, the lady replaced (graciously) the bowls of salad (whose sauce contains gluten) with 6 pieces of sushi!
Very good understanding of allergies. My mother and I are coeliacs (gluten-free), and Marlène, our waitress, took the trouble to explain to us all the precautions taken in the kitchen, for allergies. The GF pasta was a little overcooked; Marlène noticed this and asked us if that was really the case. She offered to take over the dishes (which we declined) and welcomed with great interest the advice on not overcooking gluten-free pasta - it's not easy when you're a regular pasta restaurant. My friends who ate regular pasta said it was cooked perfectly. I highly recommend, especially for the service!
This place is such a gem. My favorite cafe on Wellington and I am one of their regulars.
What stands out the most is the staff. Super friendly, pleasant and genuinely seem happy to be there. They also have healthy food/snack options and gluten free options. Definitely recommend giving it a try, you will feel right at home:)
I'm so happy we have a café in verdu that is open so late! I don't like to have to go to a bar to spend time with friends so having the option to get coffee and pastries instead is really great.
They have gluten free options for the pastries and their coffee is tasty.
This restaurant was simply amazing, I usually don’t go and eat Mexican food but this restaurant took me by surprise! The food was amazing and super fresh, they had gluten free options for the tortillas and were super flexible to modify the dishes if needed. The service was great! And the staff were very welcoming. Great ambience and experience overall! I will definitely be coming back! Thank you so much :)
Ugh, the gluten-free salmon burger was very dry and way overcooked. The edges were even charred.
On the other hand, my son found his (classic) burger good.
Not sure I'll come back...
Love the vibe of this wine bar. Amazing food selection & wine by the glass.
The server guided us through the gluten-free options. Since it was tapas style we ordered quite a few dishes to try.
Everything we’ve tried were delicious.
My personal favorites were:
- Oysters (white beach) were one of the best I’ve had. We added 2 second order because they were that good!
- Tomato goat cheese 🧀🍅
- Cabbage (reminds me of Lithuanian balandeliai)
Reservation recommended!
Hello I made a reservation yesterday by phone and given that I am a gluten-free vegan not many options were available to me even without gluten-free dough. I was really disappointed because for a large restaurant like this and with all the restrictions that exist we should be able to accommodate people with special requests, So sorry but I am canceling my reservation for Saturday March 12th. I hope that in the near future, the effort will be made so that people like me can enjoy your restaurant.
sorry for only giving one star because I know times are difficult. I am very aware of this, I am going to try your other restaurant but given that I live on the Island I would have liked to have stayed on the Island. You answered me well so I'm adding stars for your very quick response. THANKS
