Everything in the restaurant is gluten free, but you probably wouldn’t know if you weren’t told otherwise. I had the French toast and a muffin, and the textures of both felt like the real thing. I would 100% come back
Loved this place! Good service, great atmosphere, and I really appreciated the number of gluten-free options on the menu.
I got a strawberry oat milk latte and a gf sausage egg and cheese bagel. Delicious!
I asked plainly “is the tofu scramble gluten free?” and the person taking my order slammed her hand on the table rolled her eyes and said “but it doesn’t even have gluten in it!!” And i said how am i supposed to know gluten could be in anything like a sauce or a seasoning and she was extremely rude. She was young and had mid length straight brown hair. I then received my tofu scramble and it was not tofu scramble but plain cubed tofu with an unknown sauce on it that looked like soy sauce (which unless made gluten free has wheat in it) and it was bad. This is not tofu scramble. Google what tofu scramble is and not a single picture will look like that. Its mashed tofu with turmeric and other seasonings. Thats the definition of tofu scramble, meant to look and taste like scrambled eggs. I paid 14 dollars for poorly seasoned cubed tofu. One of the worst food experiences i ever had. And i walked out of there with a stomachache so no i don’t think they know what gluten is or good service.
Had a wonderful lunch with family! Between the four of us, we ordered a salad medley with roasted chicken, walnuts and fresh fruit, a meatloaf dish with sides and a roll, a steak sandwich, and quesadillas. Everything was excellent! We even bought some food to take home, such as gluten-free cookies, freshly prepared applesauce, focaccia bread, and crab chowder. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Neat little place. Crazy yummy food and drinks. You can definitely tell local owner as staff go out of their way to take care of customers and special needs/requests. Gluten free...yep, they can do that!!, etc. Fresh made food is a quickly fading art. Keep up the great work and customer service and it will always be awesome!!!!
Went for the first time today and it was better than I could have imagined!! Such a kind and welcoming environment. Tons of quality loose leaf tea to choose from. Got an espresso drink and a gluten free poppy seed muffin that was still warm from the oven, absolutely delicious. Too good not to go!!!
Great and beautiful atmosphere. Food was meh. Not much to it and small portions. Appreciated they had gluten free options denoted as such. Would go back for the atmosphere, though. Gorgeous outdoor back patio.
Food is okay for breakfast. They have a decent selection of gluten free options for a small town. Bakery looks nice but is usually dry. Service is slow and at times they mess up orders. Sometimes they have technical difficulties. Most recently there Apple Pay. Atmosphere is good for kids. Not great outside at times due to bugs.
No sugar or stir-sticks available. Pretty basic stuff lacking, sadly. But the dairy-and gluten-free food items are very good, and very much appreciated!
Stardust has excellent food. The menu is interesting and varied. They do a nice job of accommodating gluten free. Great desserts too. Their seafood pasta dishes are great.
What a fantastic find. The food is so fresh and tasty. There entire menu can be made gluten free as well which is so hard to come by these days. We will be coming back!
Mary is such a delight. This place is a wonderful gem here in Berkeley Springs. She has gluten free options which is what I need. The gluten free focaccia bread was fantastic. The Buddha Bowl didn’t disappoint either. Will definitely be back.
This place is fantastic! The employees are very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious! I ordered one of the gluten-free peanut butter cookies, and I honestly think it's the BEST peanut butter cookie I've ever tasted. If you're in Romney, you have to check this place out.
No gluten free donuts! Some have them first of month for a day in New oil. Can't they keep a separate vat or pan for gluten it's?
donuts? Celiac lover of donuts!
Great spot right off 77. Big helpings & helpful in accommodating my gluten free needs. Tiny place & very friendly staff & patrons made for a great dining experience.
Driving through on our way back to Indiana and decided to get some descent coffee and baked goods. What can I say, the coffee was great, the berry cinnamon roll was fantastic. They had gluten free options for my daughter who is celiac!!
Filling out my time sheet, I set my hotspot in the window for better signal and LEFT IT! It was an hour down the road before I realized what I had done. The great folks at Grindstone were kind enough to locate said hotspot and ship it to me!
Can’t say enough great things about this place. Great service, great coffee and delicious food. GET YOURSELF THERE!!!! I will be back any time I’m in town!
Great gluten free spot with a friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. They have cookies, scones and biscuits that are gluten free. They also do sandwiches on gluten free bread.
I wish I had photos of the sandwiches to share but we ate them too quickly! Delicious elderberry iced tea, latte, and sammies. The gluten free bread is tasty, too. Love how welcoming and dog friendly it is!
Wanted a sipping drink for our drive. I went with the mulberry hibiscus kombucha and it was fantastic and my son opted for the Lemon soda. My husband selected a key lime gluten free bar which which we all enjoyed. We aren't gluten free so the crust was different than what we would normally have but it is great those options are available.
The unique ice cream flavors are delicious. The banana dulce de leche with dark chips and toasted coconut cookie are our favorite. They offer gluten free and dairy free options as well. Enjoy.
Cute little place, the man behind the counter was very polite and communicated well. Price is very fair especially for how good their baked items are. Seemed to have drinks (coffee and tea) and a lunch menu, the lunch was fantastic, We got the blackened chicken salad sandwich. The bread was amazing and perfectly toasted, chicken salad was seasoned to perfection. We got a cranberry lime scone, it was hands down the BEST scone I’ve ever had. The flavors mixed together so perfectly, and we of course got a couple cookies with it, the peanut butter sandwich cookies were very big and quite savory. They also had signs on the baked goods to tell you if they were gluten-free or not. Good little bakery.
Great unique grocery options. Fantastic place to stop for lunch. I love the sweet potato wedges with comeback sauce. And the vegan bahn mi was great with a gluten free bun. FYI the restaurant portion is not open on weekends.
I came through the drive through last Thursday and hit the crew with a ton of questions about the menu. I’m gluten free (besides whole grains) and dairy free, so just about everything on the menu was a no go. It was a long and arduous task to find what I could actually eat, but the employee on drive-thru, Emily, was very helpful and answered all my questions with eloquence and an inviting disposition. She helped me find something that fit my diet and had zero signs of annoyance doing so. If this girl hasn’t gotten a raise yet, she needs one! Working in the service industry myself, Emily embodies what every establishment is looking for in an employee! Again, thank you! The Strawberry Poppyseed Salad with extra chicken was delicious! - Trevor Bowens
Upon entering the Cafe a warm atmosphere awaited, everything in its design felt warm and inviting. The small touches to the old building were not overdone, the character of the establishment was like greeting an old friend. The lady that greeted us was friendly and kind. she had an extensive knowledge of the menu and food preparations. Her knowledge was further evident in knowing the best meals for gluten free choices, a rarity in the small community. I personally had the trout dinner and was extremely pleased. Friendly, courteous and reasonably priced, I can not recommend this place enough. If you are passing through, or a resident, don't be afraid to give it a try. From what I seen they also have carry out as well.
There’s truly no place like AHD with pepperoni rolls and cheesecakes!! I could spend hours at a time there and enjoy the best lattes in WV. This place knows how to treat their customers with absolute satisfaction guaranteed. Nobody will ever leave disappointed at this place!! They serve anything and everything including Acai bowls, milkshakes/smoothies, salads/sandwiches, and even toast/bagels!!!! You can tell they care about their customers when there is always an option for gluten and dairy allergies. West Virginia is so lucky to have a place like this!!
Beautiful atmosphere! A lot to look at and you aren't too close to every other table in the place. Nice background music. Very cozy place to be. Coffee was good, better than Dunkin. Food was a little lackluster, asked for scrambled eggs for both our plates and it was an omelette both. Hash potatoes were good. Homemade biscuit was basically just oat biscuits. Cannot really recommend any bread here for people that enjoy real bread. Most bread options are gluten free, great for gluten free people. Not great for bread lovers. Overall not too bad but I'd rather make my breakfast at home with a nice fried egg and avocado toast.
It’s the total package of restaurants. Beautiful decor, great service, and the food is amazing. Awesome place to grab lunch or sweets as they make fresh deserts daily. And if you have a special event there is no better place in the area (and they serve alcohol). They even have gluten free options so everyone can enjoy this fabulous restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
Tried New School Cafe for the first time tonight. Had the TPBLT with gluten free bread. This is hands down one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The portion was huge and the sweet potato fries were also amazing. Service was very good and the employee answered all our questions with a smile on her face. The atmosphere was relaxed with good live music. I highly recommend going here. It was also very clean which is rare around Martinsburg.
All the Sammies, tacos, and salads can be made gluten free which is most of the menu! This is a GREAT find for gluten free needs and the food is very good. The coffee is wonderful. Totally what a coffee shop should be.
Awesome selection of coffees, teas and smoothies. Great choices of sweets with gluten-free and keto options. Few sandwiches that are brought in from a local store that are decent as well. The baristas are awesome and the shop is spacious and cozy at the same time.
Absolutely a place to visit!
We stopped in with a party of 8 mid-morning and Wow were we well taken care of. The ladies made us right at home, worked as a team to make sure our needs were met.
All the cold coffee drinks came with coffee ice cubes! Seriously?!?! Not a drop was left. The cold drinks were delicious as well. My hot mocha (yep that guy on the 91 degree day) was wonderful.
The food was amazing. Everyone loved their sandwiches and my daughter has a gluten allergy and great care was taken with hers. My son and I got the Scramble Bowls (bread bowls people!) and we were both thrilled with our meal. He got the Philly Bowl and I got the Spicy Scramble (and it was PERFECT).
Thank you Ladies for making our last morning in Berkeley Springs wonderful. You have a beautiful thing going. We can’t wait to return.
It's a bit awkward for those who don't go to church to enter into business closed Sundays, as there's always that religious or churchy feel. That being said, they are friendly and have good options. They have gluten free options but aren't celiac safe, but it's a cute place, and we are happy they are providing the service to Charleston.
This place is awesome! The food is very healthy and the best part is.... they have gluten free options! I got to enjoy the pumpkin pecan bar hot drip coffee and a delicious butter pumpkin cake. I'm a sucker for all the fall flavors. If you are visiting the area or live in the area and haven't been yet, please check this place out! You won't be disappointed. The staff was very accommodating and made me feel welcome. The building has a lot of history as it is an old school building established in 1908. There are several dining areas and cool things to look at while waiting for your food. Highly recommend :)
There have been lots of good reviews about this coffeehouse, and everything positive is true. I saw an old review which said there was gluten free bread for sandwiches. I would check with them first though before going there for a meal since the review was old. I did want to comment on their boba tea because I hadn’t seen any review about it. They have black tea, green tea, and lemonade boba with flavors that can be added to it. They have four flavors of popping boba but no tapioca boba. I ordered a half tea, half lemonade with peach popping boba. The drink wasn’t too sweet, but the boba was which was a good combination. I forgot to ask about their chai, so I will just need to visit them again soon.
OMG!!!!!! Fresh, fresh, fresh!!!!!! Amazing all around!!!! Fresh donut Saturday —— soooooo good!!!! Best donuts Ever!!!! Even did a special Gluten Free order for a friend. They went above and beyond for her. Such friendly welcoming people and environment!!! BISCUTS N GRAVY!!!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!! Fresh buttery biscuts, delicious creamy sausage gravy!!!!
Fantastic food and service. My wife is gluten free (celiac) and pregnant so the options are limited, but the two people working (front counter and chef I think) were extremely helpful and came up with an amazing veggie bowl for my wife to eat. I had the tacos (1 of each) and they were delicious. Unfortunately they were out of ramen, so I'll definitely have to come back and try that!
