Satisfy your morning cravings, let me explain… I love visiting Julie's Coffee & Tea Garden, and it's always a delightful experience. This cozy café is located in a cute historic house, giving it a charming and inviting atmosphere. There is an open back patio, which is a hidden gem, and once inside can be accessed by walking down a short corridor. As a coffee lover, I have to say the lattes are top-notch. The baristas are skilled in creating a variety of different drinks, and my go-to is the dirty chai, which has a rich and bold flavor. They also have a great selection of loose-leaf teas, which I've heard are tasty too. The pastries are also quite delicious and typically made fresh daily. My favorite is the scone and Devonshire cream, which I always make sure to ask to be warmed. The sandwiches are very tasty, with a variety of options including vegetarian and gluten-free options. The grilled cheese is particularly tasty with aged white cheddar melted between two slices of buttered sour-wheat bread! If you're looking for something homier and breakfast oriented I also recommend the baked eggs, which typically have a seasonal vegetable as a main ingredient. The service at Julie's is friendly and attentive. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations. Overall, if you are visiting Alameda, or are a local, I highly recommend visiting Julie's Coffee & Tea Garden for breakfast and brunch. The café offers so much (including wine and alcoholic beverages) that I highly recommend this location for any casual meetup and gathering. Seating can be limited though. You won't be disappointed! The day before Thanksgiving, I was able to waltz in at opening time and purchase several beautiful epi baguettes and indulge in an amazing almond croissant. The tiny shop front belies the larger bakery to the rear as their products go out to other locations richer in display area but paupers in oven space. A past reviewer had disparaged the lack of labelling of the display section which has since been rectified -no, no sandwiches. The ladies commandeering the register and displays were kind, attentive, and friendly and put some real effort into making me a pour-over coffee- which I only indulged in because there was no line. The fresh delivery of palettes of organic bread flour outside their door that morning verified the claim of all organic bread (though pastry flour is more of a mystery). There is a certain minimal indulgence towards the gluten sensitive crowd, but seriously, an entire alternate business could set up in town to take up the torch for our gluten avoiding friends and neighbors. Business opportunity knocking, -anyone? The almond croissant was buttery, flakey and perfectly laminated, the filling generous and enriched with an additional flavor alongside the almond that still escapes me but was delightfully memorable and intriguing. We are grateful to have Feel Good on our shores and their goods on our tables.

This cafe is across the street from Hampton Inn near Oakland Airport. It's outdoor with plastic tent for shelter. There is a take out option. The food is delicious. Salad Verte has amazing chicken breast. Service is superb, Gluten free options are available. This was recommended by a local who was spot on.
