We found this lovely cafe accidentally while visiting from Derbyshire, the staff are lovely and the food is incredible. My diet is gluten and dairy free and so had the gluten free vegetable flan which was SO good. In fact it was so good we went back the next day for lunch too, taking my sister who lives locally. Thank you for the warm welcome and the lovely food, if you would share your flan recipe I would be eternally grateful, especially the pastry which was melt in the mouth delicious!
🐰Vegan Review🐰
A good spot for vegans, solo or in a couple /family. I was on a solo date, for a little vegan celebration :) I went for a Vegan Love You Lotus crepe and a Vegan salted caramel thick shake. The crepe by itself is Gluten-free. The quality is decent, with a nice presentation. I liked the shake more than the crepe itself but I'm quite satisfied with the overall experience.
The weather was nice and warm, I sat outside and started chatting with a retired geologist and traveller!
The pros 🎈
* You can have 10% off if you order online, which I tried but it wouldn't work for me. So, I ordered at the till and they applied the discount.
* The service is nice
* The Vegan menu is definitely highlighted and appealing. That's what attracted me in the first place. The menu makes it easy for vegans to make their choices. It's a no-brainer ❤️
*Outdoor space in front of the park is very relaxing despite the traffic.
The cons ⏰
* The interior design. It's a bit of a cold and dark atmosphere. I would add some wall art, colours, plants... cosy furniture, to jazz it up, making it more welcoming, more of a place where you want to hang out and spend money.
*The buckwheat dough makes the sweet crepes a bit dry I guess. I'm French, traditionally with use 2 different recipes for sweet (crepe) and savoury (galettes)
* online orders to eat in need of a little help.
awful experience really do not recommend. i rarely leave reviews but this was so bad i have to. i have a gluten allergy, which i specified when ordering. the person serving me was unempathetic and did not reassure me that what i was ordering was gluten-free. i don’t think they even knew themselves, and didn’t bother to check. after eating the bacon, i was told by one of the servers that it contained gluten. the staff members were rude and unempathetic. i was offered a refund for the breakfast which i was happy about. additionally, my friend ordered one of the smoothies and saw the person behind the bar sneeze into it which is a good reflection on the hygiene in that place. as i said i usually am able to look past minor errors / mistakes as long as they are met with solutions or basic empathy. i left feeling both ill and unhappy
