Lovely spot upstairs for a vegetarian lunch with windows overlooking the river. Friendly staff and good for gluten free options too. Highly recommend it.
Wonderful, wonderful experience. I grew up in this area but haven't been back in years. This place just blew me away. Food was excellent! The decor is fabulous, a visual feast for the eyes. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Most impressive of all is their preparation and readiness to meet dietary needs such as gluten and dairy intolerance. My girlfriend is both. Most places we go to in Ireland will at best 'accomodate' dietary needs like this (for example, simply taking the cream out of a dish on the menu). It's always a stressor wondering if an eatery will actually properly prepare any dairy free or gluten free meals for her (preparing it separately from diary and gluten foods for example). The Wild Garlic are totally invested in meeting specific dietary needs. And it tastes great! My girlfriend ate the dairy and gluten free versions of dishes she's never eaten before! (Chowder for one). 11/10 would recommend and come here again. Foodies, for love of all that's tasty, I beg you, just go here, eat their incredible food, drink their fresh orange juice (or coffee) and support them and help this business thrive. We need more places like this at the heart of Irish communities ❤️
This is my favourite café in Cork City. Their take away cups are compostable (so I bring them home and put them in my food waste bin), and they serve chai lattes.
They have loyalty cards plus the staff are pleasant and friendly.
I generally don't have to wait long to be served, especially if I'm there between 10.30 and 11 am. I think it's busier after 11 am.
They have coeliac and vegetarian options as well as non-dairy milk, plus there's seating outdoors as well as indoors.
Most of the time, they make a design like a swan on my chai latte which is a nice touch
They've a decent range of sweet and savoury treats including sandwiches and scones but I've never tried them so I can't comment on how tasty they are.
My only complaint is that the chairs indoors are more like stools as they have a very low back and they're not that comfortable.
The location of Nectar is nice and central also. Price-wise, I'd say it's about average
This a gluten free review. Myo was great!
This cafe has some sweet and savoury options. The savory options are things like quiche and the sweet options are things like a apple berry crumble which was amazing.
The staff are lovely and really willing to take the time to read into things like the oat milk for you (which has previously cross contaminated me in other venues, it's not GF but still nice that they looked while the queue was growing), or if the crumble touched off something by accident they would catch that immediately and give you another slice (even though I stupidly said oh I'll eat it anyway! I'm still getting used to advocating for my dietary requirements).
It's a small cafe so options are limited of course, but it's a beautiful cafe next to the river and with lovely staff and at least your not paying for a whole restaurant. I've found it hard finding cafes in the city as opposed to restaurants to cater to GF.
I'd definitely recommend here. They have some stone tables along the river with chess tables carved in and the cafe will loan you the chess pieces. It's a nice chill evening and no worries about being glutened.
Proper wood fired pizza oven gluten free options on request, friendly staff & always well looked after in there, during the day Teas coffees & hot chocolate served along with sweet & savoury nibbles, great spot
Lovely girl served us, very pleasant and quick. We sat outside afterwards and the owner gave us cushions to sit on. The desert menu was very good with gluten free options. It was full when we went in but we soon got a table.
Thoughtfully created seasonal menu in a beautiful oasis in the city. I was a little hesitant to eat strawberries withpesto on toast.. but it works! Absolutely would return here. Vegan, celiacs catered to.

Perfect coeliac friendly hotel, everything so good, food and service excellent, staff couldn't do enough for u, great confirmation meal for Kitty, Johnny and their guests
It was good because I found many gluten-free options. I didn't like the service because we ate there but we received the coffee and the pastries to take away, it's a small thing but for me is important, if you eat in you should receive your coffee in a cup and your pastries on a plate.
The coffee and the pastries were delicious.
Lab 82 is such a nice quirky cafe. It is different in terms of decor and even menu choices- a must visit if you like ducks! Vegan, vegetarian and coeliac friendly this cafe has a wide variety of food options for you to choose from. I recommend the sausage rolls or of course the classic pancakes. Kinder Bueno pancakes are my favourite but the Oreo pancakes are also to die for. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and so helpful! This cafe is such a find - well worth the trip and if you are visiting Cork I definitely recommend a visit here for brunch or lunch! On weekends during peak time you may have to wait 10 mins or so for a table but that is only a testament to how popular the place is. The food is well worth the wait I assure you! I also recommend the potatoes and the chai latte or dirty chai if you need the caffeine.
Bright, clean and welcoming interior with street side seating also available. Had the Buddah bowl, a rambunctious feast of flavour dancing off my tongue with every bite from every corner of my bowl, and so healthy. Nice variety of delicious cakes available too, had Tunisian orange cake, delicious dense texture-possibly gluten free, only criticism would be the accompanying cream which seemed a bit too airy. Well worth stopping by here for quality food. Service was prompt, friendly and attentive.
I ate here with my wife today and she has celiac disease and we were very clear about that. She was excited that they had gluten free bagel and ordered one. It arrived looking very much the same as mine and we asked for confirmation from the waitress twice. It turns out it was just the "brown bagel" and she is is now quite sick. Not taking food allergies seriously is pretty egregious. People with allergies beware.
Stopped by Priory Coffee Co. on a recent trip to Youghal, and it was a delightful find! The atmosphere is modern and inviting, with moody lighting and great music that sets a relaxed vibe. The staff were super friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome right away. I ordered a mocha coffee, and the Badger & Dodo coffee lived up to its reputation—rich, smooth, and easily one of the best cups I’ve had in a while.
The breakfast menu was a highlight. I went for the avocado toast on their gluten-free bread, which was fresh and perfectly prepared. My friend got the full Irish breakfast, and the portion was generous enough to keep us fueled for hours. They also have vegan and vegetarian options, which is a big plus for mixed groups. The only downside was that the place was quite busy, so service took a little longer than expected, but nothing major.
The decor, with its nod to the historic Benedictine Priory, adds a unique charm. If you’re in Youghal and need a spot for a quality coffee or a hearty breakfast, Priory is definitely worth a visit. I’ll be back next time
