I’m celiac and had been craving fish and chips since the beginning of my trip 3 weeks ago. These went beyond my expectations. Absolutely recommend this place for gluten free fish and chips. **I cannot speak for cross contamination as I am not sensitive enough to it** please ask if you are celiac.

Not all restaurants are for folks with food allergies. While this restaurant has GF options listed on the menu, it was the worst to accommodate my allergy among all of the restaurants we visited throughout Iceland. I asked in the beginning of the meal if the waitress was familiar with celiac and we explained gluten was a severe allergy. This was met with a somewhat dismissive response (red flag), but I was assured of the GF options noted on the menu. I ordered the chicken salad and when I bit into something unexpected and asked the waitress what the mystery crunch was, she said it looked like some fried pieces of batter must have accidentally fallen in the salad. While she was quick to replace the salad and was apologetic, I've traveled and eaten out regularly over the years and I've never had such a blatant mistake on the kitchen's part. It ultimately ended in my being sick, still, a week later. There are a lot more options in Akureyri that likely take better care with food and customers than this one.

We loved our food and experience here! The vibe was very relaxed but felt upscale. Delicious dishes and great gluten free options.
