The food is delicious, and place itself is awesome, they have board games that we can play while waiting for the food, and they also have gluten free food.
Run, or bike, to La Bicyclette now- their food is incredible! Highlights include their Winter Citrus salad (they graciously converted it to gluten free; in doing so they provided a citrus dressing rather than the standard vinaigrette) which was bright and perfectly balanced. The Steak au Poivre was expertly prepared. Our server was excellent-very attentive but not overbearing. The space has an energetic, but not chaotic, vibe. I am looking forward to returning!
So delicious! The gluten free options were particularly tasty. We really like the falafel sandwich and the salads. Nice staff and welcome environment. Perfect for brunch or easy lunch. Not far from The museums too!
We were blown away with this place. We enjoyed it so much we came back again the next night. The food is so good, very unique in taste and presentation I would call it elevated "Mexican" food although don't expect what some people call "traditional" Mexican food. Great gluten free options, awesome drinks, great service from everyone and the hot chocolate after dinner drinks are such a nice touch we couldn't wait to get them again. We looked around at other restaurants in the area that all seem to be very much the same, this place was not the same in a good way it was very unique and delicious.
Today, I treated my colleague to lunch at the Village Corner in Carmel, a charming restaurant nestled just around the corner. As soon as we stepped onto the patio adorned with vibrant flowers, we immediately felt a sense of relaxation and joy.
The tall gentleman warmly welcomed us, setting the tone for our delightful experience. Throughout our meal, our waiter's kindness and professionalism were evident as he checked on us multiple times to ensure we had everything we needed.
I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the restaurant serves breakfast during lunch hours. I decided to indulge in the eggs Benedict and the gluten-free pancake, both of which left a lasting impression with their unforgettable flavors.
Overall, the Village Corner surpassed our expectations with its excellent service and delectable food. It's truly an exceptional dining destination that I highly recommend to anyone seeking a memorable culinary experience.
WE LOVE BASIL! Great staff, quality food, good portions, and amazing experience. Excellent gluten free pasta. We have been twice this week. Their reviews on here do not reflect how good the restaurant is. 5 stars. Highly recommend. THANK YOU BASIL
I just order a Gluten Free Burger for take out there. I can tell that was a nice piece of burger, not great, but was nice. Even more for the price. They have a good balance between quality, tastes and price.
I literally dream about these chicken wings and stop every trip to Santa Cruz! (Gluten free :) my son loves the Mac and cheese! (Regular, but very picky 5yo)
Everything is so so good!
I got the leg of lamb. That was some “last meal on earth” level tasty food. Pretty sure the sauce has gluten in it and I’m allergic but I didn’t even care. It was worth every moment of suffering in the days to come. I live 6 hours away but I’m definitely coming back
This may be the best food I've eaten in an airport restaurant. Had the chicken adobo with garlic fried rice and a mochi. They also gave me soup. All options were clearly labeled as vegetarian or gluten free as appropriate-- since I'm GF this meant I clearly could see my (many) GF options. Great meal!
Seasonal, fresh ingredients. Kind, attentive staff. Gluten-free options. The ambiance was unmatched. Absolutely loved having dinner here, cannot wait to try their brunch, which looks amazing as well.
Been hearing about this chain. Decided to give it a try.
It was actually much better than what I was expecting. I thought it was going to Americanized version of Mediterranean food.
Although it was not authentic, it was decent.
Located inside the a Del Amo Mall in Torrance right by one of the entrance.
Plenty of seating. They have booths as well as regula seating. Their menu is simple. Pick the type of protein, pick two sides, then pick sauce. They also have bowls and wraps.
Also vegan and gluten free options available.
Service is fast and friendly.
Some tables weren't clean so we wiped them ourselves.
But they were busy.
Prices are reasonable but a few dollars too much, imo.
Portions were decent for the price.
I would say overall, it's a good place to eat...for pseudo-Mediterranean cuisine.
We came in for lunch. We came in a bit early, but the service was extremely slow and as it filled up, everyone was getting their food around us except us which is a bit disappointing. They don’t have that many gluten-free options which is weird because even for example, the steak medallions does have gluten in the end makes it really difficult to eat when there shouldn’t actually be gluten and steak.
