Love the fact that all family can order and me being no dairy or gluten can have chip curry, slaw and salad. Even original burger no cheese (just don't eat bun). Lovely and fresh and big portions for chips
Wonderful staff, they made us feel welcome! Super happy with the items available - gluten free, vegetarian, lactose free etc, they had many accommodations. I would recommend their chai latte and bruschetta!
Myself and my wife stayed in Galway for the weekend and visited Brasserie on the Corner restaurant for dinner on Saturday.
My wife is coeliac and was catered for from the menu.
The atmosphere was very nice and the food was excellent.
We were served by a young lady called Hayley who was very courteous and attentive.
We would recommend this restaurant for a pleasant dining experience.
Peter & Siobhán.

BRILLIANT place to go. Plenty of gluten free options. Staff could maybe be a bit more aware of the customer. Ask do they want water for the table small things like that 😁
Tasty food. Chai latte was a bit strange, might order something else next time. They have a lot of gluten free options, for those that need it. Beautiful art on the wall. Desserts and ice-cream look divine but we skipped them as we were only in for breakfast. The music playing over the speakers was FIRE! Very nice place to get something to eat.

Ate here last night because I was excited to try gluten free fish and chips and oysters. Food took over an hour because the kitchen was backed up, so I truly believe they forgot to serve it to me gluten free. I have had GI distress, chills, nausea since. Wouldn’t recommend for anyone gluten free. and if it wasn’t the gluten it was definitely the oysters. My boyfriend feels fine but this has put a damper on our trip here.
Ate here today and the food was delicious. As I am gluten free it was great that they also had gluten free options when asked for. Staff are lovely. Would definitely eat here again.
Had a beautiful meal here last night for a friend's birthday. There were 6 of us; 2 vegetarians (one who is also a coeliac), a vegan and 3 meat eaters. Firstly, the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant is lovely and cozy. The waitress who served us was so friendly and couldn't be more helpful. She explained the options to us for gluten free, vegan etc. and checked several things with the chef willingly. The food was fresh, piping hot and beautifully seasoned and presented. Generous portion sizes too and good value. I had the soup to start with homemade Guinness treacle bread, one of the best soups I've ever had. My fiancé (the coeliac veggie!) had gluten free mushroom tacos, they were also delicious and on proper corn tortillas. Gluten free dishes came out marked as such which was great peace of mind. For mains I had the wild mushroom and pumpkin tagliatelle with garlic bread, divine and a huge portion! My fiancé had falafel which came with vegetables, hummus and various dips, which he really enjoyed. Most desserts are gluten free also, I had a gorgeous chocolate brownie, warm with ice cream. My only teeny critique is in the dark it's hard to read on their sign outside that it says parking at rear - we drove past at first not realising the alleyway beside led to ample parking. Overall we had a fantastic experience here and will 100% be back!
Delicious food, great ambience and service. The chicken liver pate with toasts is a great starter. Don’t miss their whole lobsters with crab claws. As a dessert, you probably won’t want to miss the gluten free opera cake.
Very gluten free friendly. Staff was knowledgeable.
My kids aren't gluten free and said it was the best chicken goujons (chicken strips) they've ever had.
A nice café with a cozy atmosphere. They offer some gluten-free and vegan options, but the selection is limited. The salad was a bit tasteless, but everything else was good.
If you're touring the Wild Atlantic Way, heading to Kylemore Abbey, or exploring the breathtaking Connemara region, The Purple Door Café in Leenane Village is an absolute must-stop. Nestled along the stunning Killary Harbour, this charming little café offers an unforgettable experience.
Their pastries and treats are divine—perfect for taking on the road to keep you fueled for your journey. They also have a great selection of gluten-free options, so there's something delicious for everyone. Pair your treat with their excellent coffee, or stay a while and enjoy hearty soups that warm the soul.
The owner, Connor & fam, is as gracious as they come, welcoming every guest with genuine warmth and kindness. And if you're really cool, Luna, the café's lovable dog, might just come over to share some affection, adding even more charm to your visit.
The Purple Door Café is not just a place to grab a bite—it's a memory waiting to be made. Don’t miss it while you're exploring the Wild Atlantic Way!
As a coeliac, this cafe was great for me. Yes, service was patchy but they were very friendly and helpful in letting me know what I could eat, and I'm always grateful for that. They pointed out the sweet crepes could be done as buckwheat galettes, which was also welcome.
The nice thing with galettes is that the traditional grain used to make them in Britanny is buckwheat which makes them naturally gluten free.
Some gluten free options but very little dairy free for a child. No gluten free pasta or pizza and no vegan cheese.
Hard to pick with the options given to a 6yr old being bacon salad or cross contaminated fish n chips.
Ended up paying for adapted adult meals but the food was really delicious.
Cost €85 for 4 dishes and 2 pints of Guiness inc
I had gf lamb shank, very tender and tasty
Beautiful cafe in Connemara. Food is really fresh with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Can sit in or out. Gorgeous fresh salads. So delicious 🤤
They have the speed game absolutely worked out. We had less than 20 minutes before our bus returned and we got our food and were finished well in time.
The food is good, simple fare. They had gluten free bread as an option but im not sure they always do.
My partner said the tomato soup was above average and very hearty.
Great spot for a quick bite after a hike up the hill.
Staff were so lovely. Had a gluten free Toblerone slice and hot chocolate and my husband had a coffee and pastry ,all were Soo tasty! Would definitely go back😊
This place has a separate gluten free breakfast lunch and breakfast menu which is amazing. Food is awesome. You usually need to queue but get seated fast. A wee gem !
Best desserts in Galway!! Even if you're not a "dessert" person I dare you to walk past their gorgeous dessert bar and not order anything. FYI, they always seem to always include a gluten free option. All the menu items emphasize local produce. Entrees are a little spendy, but always delicious. The dining room is usually a bit crowded, but it has one of the best restaurant interiors I've ever seen. It has home-canned veggies, original art, and a rustic skylight all put together seamlessly. It feels cultured, authentic, and utilitarian all at once. And the service is always attentive and personable.
Super service, during a very busy time.
Food was delicious & service was top notch even tho the girls were ran of their feet. They assisted all the dirty needs from a delicious Coeliac option to a hungry baby with pancakes and Nutella. Excellent value for money. Will be our go to spot anymore we are in Salthill for a day out.
So so so impressed with the food on Saturday night. Special mention to the chowder which is the best I've ever had (and its gluten free!)
The hollandaise on the perfectly cooked seabass was also to die for.
Brilliant service and gorgeous location and atmosphere to boot.
Well done and we'll be back!
We had valentines dinner our starter plates (we had the sharing platter ALL FROZEN FOOD)were taken off us while we still had food in our mouths(I found this quite rude)the "expensive glass of wine we handed back as it was worse than aldi and was still charged for it my main course was microwaved as the pasta was so hot it left a burn mark on my finger the focaccia bread was the only nice part of dinner the melted cheese not melted had ta ask to cook it the waitress was not plesant atall quite rude in fact oh and they charge if you have gluten restrictions they charge extra
I'm a celiac and hands down the finest 👌 gluten-free pizza 🍕 I've had in galway City and County. Price was also worth the taste. If you're finishing up a hard days work, drop in for a smile, beer, and fantastic pizza
Lovely food, gluten free options as well!I had fish chowder and it was deliciousThe dessert was lovely,I had meringue with cream and raspberries. The chips were gorgeous as well.My friends had fish and chips and they were very happy!
A lovely decorated place in the heart of Gallway. The food came pretty fast and the service was friendly. The card offerd a wide range of delicious menus and the food we ordered tasted fantastic. Especially the fakt that for nearly everything, there is an gluten-free option available is for me a big plus.
Great menu, reasonable prices. Service is always with a smile and the girls are always helpful if you want to tweak their menu. They offer a great kids and also gluten free menu.
Delicious coffee and tea.
Good atmosphere to have a quick or long lunch by the bus station.
The salad and sandwich bar are great and they offer gluten-free and lactose free options.
Worth visiting!
It has been many years since I walked into a cafe and found such welcoming staff. A beautiful open place that has kept up with tradition, the Irish language was in abundance and a pleasure to hear from staff, the menu in both the Irish and English language for all visitors. The food was absolutely fantastic local fresh and full of flavour, every bite mouth watering and every dish available as gluten free also. Keep up the good work. maith sibh!!
Wonderful service and fantastic food . A very family friendly place . Great choice of food for everyone ,gluten free friendly ,vegan friendly . Accessible for all too. Fantastic to see such an inclusive place locally
Cute little cottage restaurant with delicious food! They had gluten free options which were awesome! The fish and chips Sando was top notch and the burger wasn’t too bad either! They also had excellent coffee at their to-go window, which is perfect for a walk on the water
