We stayed at the Coast Lethbridge Hotel and ate breakfast twice and supper once at the Firestone Restaurant which is located in the hotel. We were treated to an amazing menu with several delicious food options. Additionally, my friend has Celiac disease and was pleasantly surprised to have a full menu just for her own dietary needs. All of the waitstaff were excellent however, I would like to bring specific attention to Megan who was extra efficient and friendly. If in Lethbridge, do check out this gem of a restaurant.
My wife and I were hanging out in Lethbridge for the day getting our car serviced and we decide to check out the Bread Milk and Honey cafe, and we were glad that we did! It was hopping busy on a late Saturday afternoon, so we knew that it must be good. They have many sweet and savoury choices on their menu board to choose from.
We ordered everything to go, but the cafe was clean, and well laid out, with lots of room for the staff to work behind the counter. There are many tables and chairs to stay in the cafe and have a coffee, a conversation and a tasty treat. The glass pastry displays still had a lot of choices, even late on a Saturday. We couldn’t just choose one and ordered a wide selection to take with us on the road. There are lots of drink choices as well; I had a lemonade and my wife had a coffee. Everything was carefully packaged as well.
We tried the tiny lemon meringue tart, which was crisp and lemony, like a mini pie. The chocolate pie, which I couldn’t resist, looked so inviting and it had a thin, delicate crust and great chocolatey custard, that was delicious. My wife chose a blueberry muffin, that was full of berries and moist and a cheese scone, which was a little plain for her liking. The brownie was lovely, chocolatey and delicious as well, but the gluten free peanut butter bar was moist, but not to our liking. The overnight oats cup was crunchy with almonds, tasty and filling.
All in all, a fantastic bakery to stay and enjoy their delicious fresh baking, in a fun, vibrant cafe, or to take your treats on the road with you.
❤️❤️I get the mango chicken with coconut rice every time:) but there’s so many moreGF choices. Fish pakora is also my favorite. In our top two places to eat GF in lethbridge.
If when placing your order, you have the option to mark as an allergen (gluten) on the specific entree, maybe don’t just write on the top “not gluten free” for your customer to see once it’s been delivered. Hard to eat when you have an allergy…
Absolutely love Moxies! I have dietary restrictions (Celiac Disease) and I always feel comfortable going to Moxies. Moxies staff take my needs seriously and I have never had an issue eating at Moxies. (Caveat: this doesn't mean that it is going to be perfect for you. Do your own due diligence and find out for yourself.)
Dishes I enjoy here are:
1. Steak Frites
2. Chicken & Ribs
3. Chipotle Mango Chicken
4. Smashed Avocado Dip (appetizer)
Last night, my wife (she can eat whatever she wants) and I ate here and I had the Chicken & Ribs. My only gripe is that the chicken portion is too small. The quantity of ribs is always portioned well. I gripe about the size of the chicken portion but I am always full by the time I finish the entire plate including the sides (veggies & mash potatoes/fries).
Every time we go, I always get the Smashed Avocado Dip as an appetizer. It is SO GOOD! I do miss the presentation of the dip in the stone mortar bowl and I think this has been the victim of shrink-flation. Speaking of shrink-flation, I do think the nachos appetizer is overpriced. I have had them on previous occasions but they are way too expensive for what you get ($27 without any extras).
I used to enjoy the salted caramel cheesecake but, as an individual customer, it is unaffordable at $12. It is still a great dessert but, as far as I can tell, it hasn't grown in size along with the price.
My issues with the costs aside, I know that I would pay more at other local restaurants for the same dishes because I have paid more at those places and I keep coming back to Moxies.
Ambience is great. I like to be able to see what I am eating. The staff are very friendly. I appreciate that the folks are not dressed up like they work in a brothel.
All in all, I highly recommend Moxies and I look forward to when I can go again.
Very few gluten free options
Had a cobb salad for $18 and it was a very small portion. It had a bit of lettuce, 1 egg, not even 1/4 of an avocado and a few bacon bits. The size was what a starter used to be.
While we were visiting family in Lethbridge we decided to check out Stella's for the Sunday Brunch Buffet and it was by far the most delicious buffet we've had in many years! On top of the food being delicious, Stella and family were also fun and so very welcoming that it made us feel like family too. Seriously awesome people who make everyone feel at home. The ambiance was perfectly casual and the music was on point while I enjoyed every bite! Its not just a great meal, its a place where everyone can be themselves.
Chef Stella had some gluten-free options, vegerarian options, and some dairy free options in the buffet so our whole family had enough to choose from and everything was labelled, so you know what you're eating. I haven't had a spread this good since I was back home with all my aunties! Stella's is the best spot in Lethbridge and I highly recommend everyone check it out. You'll leave their with a full belly and a happy heart!
Good amount of gluten free options for the other celiacs out there. Good food, pretty decent price. Too bad they have a shared cross contaminated fryer - that would be five stars.
Fabulous love the Gluten-free options.
The stuffed pepper soup is awesome had it with a grilled chicken ceaser wrap and the wrap didn't fall apart can't wait to go back and try a different Gluten-free options it was Fabulous and my friend had the fish wrap absolutely fantastic she said and would have again staff are nice and friendly
It's a very welcoming environment and thanks for not changing extra for Gluten-free will be returning soon
Booked the back room for my kids school band trip and they hosted and fed 70 people very well and everyone loved the food, especially those who wanted gluten free options.
**UPDATE: Management reached out to me to acknowledge my disappointment and I received a gift card to return. I am happy to say the second chance was much better. Server was very helpful and even caught a potential allergen in my food choice. I had the hamburger with a gluten free bun and I ate the whole bun. Usually it is a hit or miss with gf bread type foods but I enjoyed this one. Happy we gave them a second chance!**
Server was ok. The salt and pepper wings tasted like vinegar and were so dry I couldn’t finish the plate. Would not recommend them
This Ricky's is quite big. Had a restaurant/bar feel. The only issue was that A/C was cranked right up, so a little cool. They have gluten free bread (for an additional charge) and are allergy aware. Service was prompt, polite and the server checked in regularly.
Cool little place very good food. Had the teriyaki chicken had to put in a letter since they did not have gluten free bred
But their bakers had gluten free cakes and some other treats
