Best Clam Chowder in Town, possibly best on the west coast! Also: it’s GLUTEN FREE!! Which makes it that much more incredible! Very friendly and prompt service,
Exactly what I picked for a seafood based restaurant with view of Newport Beach. There is a separate gluten-free menu available on request and the staff was incredibly helpful finding items and options. Best menu item is the Blackened Tuna Steak with a red curry on jasmine rice with veggies. I'm already craving it again.
Pogs N Pancakes turned out to be a real win for my college age daughter and myself. We were in town for just a few days and we chose to come here for multiple breakfasts. They have reasonable prices and good variety. My daughter loved the biscuits and gravy. I have to eat gluten free and they had lots of gluten free options for me too - including waffles and pancakes as well as toast to go with egg dishes.
Wow this place is good. Best decision I've made today. I had the Mushroom Omlet with bacon and they have Gluten Free Biscuits that they make on site! Just the best breakfast I've had in a long time, and I have enough to take home for later.
Great place! Amazing Gluten free clam chowder and other items! Tell your GF friends! Within walking distance to the beach. Great service, even when they are packed. Indoor and outdoor seating. Dog friendly on the patio. Bathrooms are clean and handicap friendly.
Super great they have the gluten free bread thank you so much for that!!! It took a moment for the young lady to get the whole "Allergy" meaning of Gluten Allergy. Once she got that it was fantastic aside from only one bread choice whole wheat, or flat bread or wrap, bo meatballs that day. There were some other choices not available that day also! We had a great meal and good service, all things aside we will go back for sure!!
This location is fantastic to grab a tasty coffee and a gluten free snack. They have more than a few options for gf and df eaters and they're so tasty. We love the df gf raspberry filled chocolate cupcakes and their gf waffle sandwich. They have physically distanced indoor and outdoor seating. Be sure to check out the Nye Beach Market and they sweet swag in the back. They have unique and local gifts!
Normally when visiting a town, I can never find good coffee. I did today at Coasties Roasties. I had ordered an orange mocha and it was fabulous. When looking in their case of goodies by the register, I also appreciated them because there were gluten free, vegan, and gluten free vegan options (that did not sacrifice flavor or texture) and were also pretty great. To top it off, the staff was very nice and cared about the coffee they were making. This is all around a great place to get a coffee and a sweet treat.
Went back the day after and my orange mocha was the perfect balance blend of both sweet and bitter finished with the creaminess of coconut milk. It was good the day before, but today was a perfect balance (hard to find in a coffee place). My partner and I also learned they are able to make items off menu to tailor to food allergy needs. This is very appreciated since I have an egg and gluten allergy making it difficult to find stuff to eat while traveling let alone a good meal. This place is great, eat here.
Update: Went back 1 year later and found it bought out by a new owner. Big disappointment in the quality, it was one of the worst cups of coffee I've had. It was so disappointing because this was one of my favorite coffee shops in the PNW.
Took a solid 20 mins for us to be interacted with by a hostess (after which we were seated immediately, at a table a previous group had just left because they were tired of waiting).
Once we got the menu after another ten minutes, we realized they didn't have any non-breakfast gluten free options, and the waitress didn't know what fish was in the fish and chips, and whether there was bacon in the chowder.
Unless you have a lotta time to kill and don't have any food needs or preferences, I don't recommend it.
The food is delicious! It's small and was fairly crowded, but they were happy to accommodate our large group. I'm gluten free, so couldn't try any of the pastries myself, but the other members of my group said they were really good and the omelet I had was awesome. Would definitely go back!
