When ordering a $23 gluten-free burger for pickup, you’d expect it to taste good and be ready on time. Unfortunately, my first experience with True Food Kitchen was disappointing. The gluten-free bun was so hard it hurt my jaw, as if it had been sitting out all day, and the flavors just weren’t there—it simply wasn’t a good burger. I was told my order would be ready at 7:41, but it wasn’t ready until 7:55. The employee handling pickup orders was diligent, polite, and kept me updated, even offering a free gluten-free cookie to help with the long wait. However, standing around for 15 minutes in an area with nowhere to sit was frustrating. At this price point and with the disappointing food quality, trying again feels like a gamble, so I probably won’t be back soon.

Must visit if you follow a gluten free diet, must visit even if you don't! My husband and I came here for brunch on our way out of town because of their plethora of gluten free options. I was pleasantly surprised they were serving brunch so I could get the gluten free fried chicken sandwich. It was the most heavenly gluten free food I've had anywhere, ever. The chicken was perfectly crispy, the gf bun was AMAZING. Truly didn't feel like it was gluten free, held together really well and wasn't a super dense puck of bread like other buns. My husband also got the fried chicken sandwich, with gluten, and loved it as well. I also got the gf avocado toast to go and loved it even a few hours later when I finally got hungry enough to eat it. We also got the red mimosa (perfect) bloody mary (amazing) and a drip coffee. Everything was truly outstanding and we will most definitely be coming back when in Chicago again. 10/5 stars.

Let me start of by saying it was Wednesday morning but they were still REALLY busy. Their Latte was really big and good, breakfast is decent but be careful to not order the scrambled egg, they DON’T Know how to do scramble eggs at all Ordered the country farmers skillet which lacked content, barely saw any sausages in there but good amount of ham, but the gluten free pancakes were great! Their sweet potato pancakes Benedict was good. Service was good despite how busy they were.
