I was in Basel only for a few hours between a river cruise and a train to Zurich but I really wanted to stop by for some GF baked goods. I visited this location near the train station and was so pleased! The lady was so kind and helpful, she explained some of the different breads and gave us some tips for Basel. I bought a couple of brezels and rolls, and a streusel bar and a cinnamon roll and everything was great. My gluten-eating husband also liked the brezel and said it was as good as some he had eaten in Alsace this past week. The texture of everything was really good, I wish I had bought a loaf of bread to take home but I knew my suitcase was already quite full. If you are gluten free and in Basel, make time to visit this bakery, it’s well worth it! I had a completely different experience to many of the reviews here and suspect that if you are polite and use good etiquette, which means greeting in German and asking in German to speak English, you will also have a great customer service experience. Kindness is met with kindness!
I don't understand why the dishes at the buffet are explained so well but at the end they prepare me a cappuccino with oat milk (just because I didn't specifically ask for cow's milk). As a celiac disease sufferer, I rely on a gluten-free diet and am quite disappointed with how carelessly certain employees at Tibits deal with the topic of "food intolerances". Unfortunately, I have definitely lost my trust in Tibits thanks to my severe stomach cramps. Too bad! Trends are probably given greater weight than serious illnesses.

A wonderful place for a relaxed brunch—and an absolute godsend for anyone following a gluten-free diet!
The selection of gluten-free dishes is huge and truly delicious. The gluten-free bread, in particular, was super fluffy and flavorful. The rest of the food was also fresh, creative, and prepared with lots of love.
The cozy, vintage-style ambiance is simply charming. I'll definitely be back!
Visited on Friday afternoon. There were few clients. The toilet has a code, but it is clean.
The hall is small, it seems to me that there is not enough space there at rush hour.
I was impressed by the view of the square.
Large fries for 5€ are very impressive. No less than gluten-free bread. That's why I tried the double cheeseburger with bacon for the first time. He was warm. I didn't like the potatoes. At McDonald's in France, where I work, the potatoes taste better. This shocked me, because I thought that potatoes were the same everywhere.
Service is the same as everywhere else. I can understand the kitchen staff, the work is hard mentally and physically. It's hard to keep smiling all day, especially if it's the fifth day in a row. But they were polite and fulfilled all requests.
This place ticks all the boxes for hosting gatherings! It’s got a really quirky aesthetic and a delightful vibe, it’s just the right size space, not too large and not too small. The back room is the perfect venue for hosting farewells, we did two here recently, just booked a few tables and easy to set up a bar tab with wristbands. Staff were wonderful, kids were welcome and so easy to entertain here. Food is reasonably priced and there’s so much variety, even gluten-free options. Bar has plenty of variety of cocktails. I love this place (so much more than markthalle and my kids can’t escape or disappear so it’s actually relaxing!). The only drawback is the back room gets a bit hot in Summer, they should open it up at the back (there’s already a door) to get a breeze and add plants and fans!
Zoo would be ok. The restaurant closed at 2 p.m. today, even though a lot of people still wanted to eat. There is a pavilion (grill only until 3 p.m.) but there is only sausage, hot dogs and chips.... Someone who cannot tolerate gluten or wants to eat vegetarian or healthy has no chance after 2 p.m. Even though the zoo is open until 6:30 p.m. How many dinners could they possibly sell here... well, if you don't need it, you don't need it... The animals are still beautiful. But Zoo zh or Rappi Children's Zoo made me feel much more welcome... Would choose one of these again...
