We where served so well by the staff esp Ashwanth. The food was awesome and gluten free allergy was well taken care off. Highly recommend for ambience and Tasty Indian food.
Gluten free heaven. You need to try their pancakes! Great portions, great prices and great flavors. The staff are always lovely too.
Be prepared to wait 15-20 minutes at busy times like Saturday morning. But it's well worth the wait!
So many vegan (and gluten free) meal, snack and treat options! Everything is so fresh and delicious. Clearly made with love and their drink menu is very expansive. The staff were friendly, kind and fast.
5 stars
Havana on Commercial Drive is an absolute gem in Vancouver! ๐๐จ๐บ From the moment we walked in, the energy was buzzing โก โ warm, vibrant, and so welcoming. The dรฉcor is colorful ๐จ, the music is lively ๐ถ, and the whole vibe just feels like a mini vacation! โ๏ธ๐ด Perfect for date night โค๏ธ, casual hangouts ๐ป, or even solo chill time.
Food:
We went all in โ and wow. ๐คค We had the Cubano sandwich ๐ฅช, pulled pork tacos ๐ฎ, and plantain chips with guac ๐๐ฅ to start. Every bite = flavor explosion. ๐ฅ The Cubano was perfectly pressed and cheesy ๐ง, the tacos were juicy and fresh, and those plantainsโฆ dreamy. Donโt skip dessert either โ the churros were warm, crispy, and dipped in chocolate heaven ๐ซ๐ฅ.
Drinks:
Cocktails were on point โ we tried the Mojito ๐๐ธ and the Havana Old Fashioned ๐ฅ. So refreshing and bold. Bartenders here know their craft. ๐จโ๐ณ๐
Service:
Service was amazing! ๐ Everyone we met was friendly ๐, super helpful, and genuinely passionate about the place. Shoutout to our server for solid recos and great vibes the whole time โจ๐ฌ
Atmosphere:
Cozy inside ๐๏ธ, but the patio is a total vibe ๐๐ฅ. Itโs heated, covered, and perfect for people-watching on The Drive. Great music, cool art on the walls ๐ผ๏ธ, and the whole place has that laid-back but buzzing feel.
Pro tips:
โข ๐ Book ahead on weekends โ it gets packed!
โข ๐ณ Check out brunch โ itโs a hidden gem.
โข ๐ฅ Plenty of veggie + gluten-free options!
โข ๐ญ Bonus: thereโs a theatre in the back for local performances. So cool!
Final thoughts:
This spot gets it. โ Food slaps, drinks hit, staff rules, and the vibe is immaculate. ๐ฏ
Havana is easily one of my fav spots on The Drive.
Food: 10/10
Drinks: 10/10
Service: 10/10
Vibe: 11/10
Run, donโt walk.

Canโt wait to go back!
Quaint little place! Sweetest owner. HF rice noodles in pho, vermicelli. Separate fryer for gluten free spring rolls- a little too crispy for me but still good
Sushi was okay. Iโve had better. Didnโt taste super fresh, but it was alright. Nice to have gluten free options. Forgot to include chop sticks in my bag, and since I am travelling and staying at a hotel, I had to use my fingers, not ideal, but not the end of the world. Iโd try somewhere else next time. Staff was not overly friendly.
The food was amazing! And the staff were phenomenal under such busy conditions.
We were accommodated as walk ins (we were there 10-15 mins prior to dinner service opening) and the staff sat us at the bar.
My wife and I are both gluten intolerant, and the staff were so accommodating.
The cocktails were fantastic.
One of the best dining experiences weโve had from every perspective: quality of food, friendliness of the wait and bar staff and the excellent drinks.
Made our stay in Vancouver a lot better!
Brother ordered the Lamb Shank $36
Mother ordered the Wild Salmon Salad $15-17
Myself ordered the Pork Belly Bowl $20
Order Total came out to be about $76
Service was good. Kept refilling our water.
Atmosphere didn't match the food because it made me think more of a Bar Grill rather than an Asian fusion restaurant.
The Food made us feel like we tossed money for mostly Salad.
Lamb Shank Dish has no Rice, Just a bone with a tiny bit of meat on top of a bed of Salad. This felt like the most rip off scam of them all. For something very highly priced. You can go to other surrounding restaurants for Lamb, same portions for a 1/3rd of the price.
Wild Salmon Salad. Thin slices of salmon on top a bed of Salad. Crunched up peanuts and Edamame.
With the portion ratio. At the same price you can get Fish and Chips. Offering you more substantially more portion to fill your stomach.
Pork Belly Bowl. For something Gluten Sensitive. There's barely any Rice nor Pork Belly. 3 slices of pork belly, a bit of salad and rice lesser than a small bowl that goes for less than $5. $20 just makes you feel guilty for eating there not in a good way at all.
Aesthetically the food is pleasing to the eyes in terms of appearance. Portion and ratio of ingredients are very poor. The Plating doesn't make up for how much money was thrown out of our pockets.
Best breakfast diner around. So friendly, accommodated my wife's gluten allergy, and all home made. Weโve lived in the region for 10 years, and searched for that classic diner that makes us and our tummies feel at home. The Red Wagon is by far the freshest, best classic breakfast served. In house smoked meats, fresh bread, jams and amazing corn bread.
Lots of brunch options! Ordered the seafood Benny (one with crab cakes the other with smoked salmon) and shared the gluten free spanakopita and both were delicious! We were a larger group and everyone enjoyed their meal and drinks!
Service was prompt and the music was perfect for brunch - funky and fun but not too loud. Definitely will return!
I love ordering off their website because it has better deals than any of the delivery apps. The gluten free is phenomenal, love the added texture of sesame seeds and the choices for veggie are better than anywhere else. I ordered and not even 20 mins later it was at my door at peak hours. Love Uncle Fatih
This is my favourite place in Vancouver. Every time I come here I smile ear to ear the whole time.
The staff are so friendly and genuinely all so happy to be there, and they all really like each other to boot. You feel like youโre just being welcomed into someoneโs family.
Tunes are always on point - youโll find yourself dancing at the bar while you watch the expert shucking happening in front of you. The food is always 10/10. Garlic prawns and shucked oysters are my go to as a no gluten human. Snoop is perhaps one of the best service industry people weโve ever met.
Atmosphere wise - everyoneโs friends: you will get to know the person next to you and youโll be happier and better for it. Today we spent 1.5 socializing with the people on either side of us and left with hugs.
Every time you leave here energized, well fed and happy af. The best spot in Vancouver without a doubt
Decent coffee, but when I ordered the gluten free brownie, they did not have a separate tongs or anything, so it was cross contaminated. As a celiac, they don't owe me anything, but the little extra show of effort would've been nice.
