Their gluten-free chocolate cake and cup cakes with butter cream icing are truly the desserts of the gods! I keep looking for the opportunity to head to the Heights to buy those treats. Hmmm. Another family birthday is coming up. Think I’ll give Cocoa a call and place an order!

A solid coffee spot near a light rail stop in Newport. A nice selection of gluten free pastries, although nothing extensive overall. The coffee selection is standard, but the pour your own cold brew is a nice touch.

LOVE this small but mighty ice cream shop! Because the ice cream is made in small batches, there’s real attention to detail and quality ingredients (the midnight cocoa, pictured here tasted just like a dark chocolate brownie!). And as someone with celiac, there are plenty of options. Worth going out of your way for a scoop if you find yourself in downtown Jersey City!

What a unique concept! I have ordered the Big Poppa (gluten free) and the confetti cake (gluten free). Both were amazing! I personally enjoyed the confetti one most as it reminded me of a childhood sugar cookie with amazing buttercream frosting. You will not find a more unique dessert-- especially gluten free! Customer service is very responsive and helpful. I will be back!
