Maenam used to be my favourite spots pre-covid. There food was delicious, like no other, and they gave good portions sizes. Even pre-covid this place was not cheap, but the price you paid matched the quality of service and food, so it didn't matter. This time, such a disappointment. Me and a friend came by to celebrate my belated birthday dinner a few weeks ago, and it was such a let down, that I'm writing this review a few weeks later. Cost was $130.00 CAD for 1 Soup, 1 appetizer, 2 entrées and rice. The soup was good, the meatball appetizer definitely NOT WORTH IT. The entrées were TINY, FLAVORLESS, and DRY. Could have basically just been an appetizer. We ordered: Squid, and stir-fried beef. In addition, before they used to make the Pad-Thai gluten-free and now they don't, only offering the vegan version. Why would I pay $26 for Pad Thai that has no meat? Not worth the price for the amount of food and quality we received. Maenam, you've lost a loyal customer.

I usually love noodle box but this location service was terrible. I am a celiac and the kitchen mixed up my order. When I pointed the same the manager Romy was absolutely unapologetic and in fact rude about how it was a small mistake. Very disappointed about utter disregard for food allergies.

Good ramen but not sure I'd wait almost an hour again next time. My friend and I put our name in around 1:30pm on a Saturday and were told to expect at least 75 minutes. We ended up getting a table around an hour later. It's nice they have the text system so it gives you a chance to walk around 4th Avenue. I had the negi-goma ramen and added a soft boiled egg. My friend is gluten free and got the classic ramen with the vegan soup and gluten free noodles. She told me ramen danbo is the only ramen place in the city that she's been able to order gluten free noodles. Surpringly the ramen took a while to be served. Not sure if they had to make the vegan broth or get the GF noodles. My broth was really good and had a good sesame flavour. Noodles were good texture, unfortunately they forgot my egg. But I noticed a server and they brought one out on the side quickly. The egg was cooked perfectly and the yolk was nice and jammy. I enjoyed it overall and would go again to try the classic ramen.
