Our meal and dining experience were fantastic! Our server was attentive and warm and the food was delicious. I picked The Hound because of the great reviews and the fact that they had an extensive and clearly labeled gluten-free menu, which was wonderful for my daughter with Celiac disease. Our lovely server even went back to let the chef know! Highly recommend!

We come every game day weekend! We sit in Ashley’s section because she is the BEST server…professional, attentive and kind! The food is delicious, the atmosphere is positive and homey and everyone is friendly. Have great gluten options, too!

I’m Gluten Free so the Waitress gave me some suggestions on what to order. I wanted a Margarita so She asked if I liked a Had every had a Spicy one so I said I would try it .Great 💜 I Loved it . She was very Friendly & Helpful with all are questions. We were very Pleased with our Food & Service Thank You Ashley Lynn!! Our first time dining there we will be Back 😊

Bill and I have lived in the Auburn Opelika area for 6 years now, and we can honestly say that there is no better place to eat in the area than Amsterdam Cafe. We've eaten at the "cafe" dozens of times. When Lee County was locked down due to COVID, Amsterdam was our "go to" for special meals with their curbside service. They helped us keep our sanity during 2020. Amsterdam is where we go for special occasions and where we take family and friends when they come to visit. The food is absolutely wonderful and we have never been disappointed. It's so good to see gluten free choices on the menu and to know that the chef uses farm fresh local ingredients; we trust what we are eating. (They have the best Fried Green Tomatoes and I try that dish everywhere.) Also, as two Auburn University graduates that fulfilled their dream of retiring to the Lee County area, it's a treat to be able to so completely enjoy a dinner out in downtown Auburn. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, and, I promise you, they have the best servers anywhere. We are always treated like we are someone special. For an example of that, just recently we went to Amsterdam for dinner to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary. We mentioned to the server that it was our anniversary. Our server made our meal as extraordinary as we feel our anniversary is every year. We highly recommend Amsterdam Cafe. You won't find a better run restaurant in East Alabama.

We are glad that we stumbled onto this wonderful restaurant. My wife,who is gluten intolerant, finds items that she can eat. The food is excellent and we had a Great waitress.
