So we have some big news: Steps is now officially Atly, and we couldn’t be more excited for the next chapter! 

We’ve come a long way since our humble beginning when we set out to help people collect and share favorite places on a map, and do it way better than the other guys. The journey has been eye-opening; we’ve listened to feedback from around the world, overcome challenges and expanded the app in ways we couldn’t have imagined when we first started out. Through it all, we’ve stayed focused on creating the most fun and user-friendly app, and now as Atly–with over 150,000 global users–we’re ready to take on the future! 

So, why Atly? This name links where we've been and where we're going next! Fun fact: Just over 450 years ago, the world’s first atlas, Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, was published–and it was a total game changer. It was the first comprehensive and consistent collection of maps aiming to cover the entire known world! 🤯

Abraham Ortelius, who put the "O" in "OG," created that atlas, drawing on the work of many different cartographers in his mission to create the most accurate maps using the best sources. Hmm… That sure sounds familiar!

Similar to how Ortelius’s atlas revolutionized map-making, Atly is revolutionizing the way people explore the world–through maps filled with the best information from the best sources: you!

We couldn’t have come this far without our dedicated users–people who care about knowing and sharing the best places to go for any particular interest the world over. And, we can hardly wait to reveal the other exciting updates that are coming soon.
